1. Ahhhhh finally! Many thanks for your effords, I just can't wait to put it into action. Schugger
2. It must be cheating, since 16 tons could not smash a KT.
3. Your Mods are simply awesome! I would pay money if I can get this sheme on my all time favourite Hetzer (... if I had any left). Continue your good job, Tiger

5. If you name the devil.... Oh great Lord, what have I done to be cursed with such terrible opponents? Actually, I have to admit that I start to like my daily PBEM punishment. There isn't something greater in the world when I come home from work, fire up the comp and then launch CM. It is strange, whenever I try to open one of your PBEM turns I get a system request: " Are you sure you really want to open that bloody file?". Then I put my steel helmet on and press "OK". But Jonathan, I have to notify you that Sergio is by now my most feared PBEM deamon. He eats my hamSSters for breakfeast at "First Clash at Cambes": Soldiers, nay, whole squads dissapear within seconds, buildings were trembling or set on fire and the earth is shacking whereever the Lord of battle is walking and spits death and destruction. It is truly apocalyptical - The horror. I feel really sick when I had to watch the movie files and Moon should be court martialed for creating such a meatgrinder scenario. I will light up a candle when this game is over and I had survived it.
6. Holla Sergio You will have a hard time to find anyone with Feldgrau uniforms, thanks to your onslought the colour has allready changed to blood-red. It is quite easy to figure out who is responsible when death comes from above; it has to be my Nemesis most-wanted-dead-or alive Joanathan "Doc" Freyland.
7. OK Sergio, done Regular FBs cost only 225pts for the allied side, but he was only able to purchase one if the rest of the listed force is of regular quality.
8.
quote:
Originally posted by Panzershrec: I never got a chance to play the multiplayer, is it really that buggy?

Hi Panzerschreck The last time ( a few month ago) I played PE in Multiplayer it was really problematical to get a game going as well as very frustrating and time consuming. But when we were able to get into action it was a blast. There are some PE players around here and the last time I asked that PE is now more stable in MP ( had something to do with the KALI game server). You may wish to check the multiplayer forum at wingssimulations.com where you surely get more valid informations than I can provide. Schugger
9. Steady Shatter, the good humored mocking between PC and Mac (ab)users has some tradition on this board. There is really no need to feel insulted.
10. Foobar As far as I know, Tanaka is playing a ladder game and the rules are that each engagement should only last for twenty turns. By accident the parameters were set to 30 turns and so they have to agree on a cease fire in turn 21 to get the same result if one side does not surrender before.
11. I don't think there is any difference. But remember that both players must prepare for the cease fire in the order phase of turn 21.
12. Tiger I really love those rusty and weather worn allied vehicles as they really give me the feeling of being in an underdog role when it comes to tank battles with the germans. When I click on them and Oddball appears in the unit screen I know that I need to use them in a mean and dirty way to have any chance. Your mods make a great game even greater. Thanks And now go and make a new Hetzer texture...please Schugger
13. DaMilli If i understand your problem right you couldn't locate your selfmade scenario or played it from your savegame folder. What I do is saving my selfmade scenarios from the editor to the scenario folder and not to the savegame folder as it is set so by default. Or am I missing the point here?
14. In an ongoing PBEM game with Crocky some very strange things happened. One of my VG SMG platoons conducted of what I thought being a wittyful flanking maneuver, stumbled over an ambush by some british glider troops and was anihilated in 10 seconds. They disappered so fast, that I thought dark sorcery was involved. One of my Stug IIIs had the misfortune to confront a Churchill VIII, pops smoke and backs off ( I swear, I never saw a german tank doing that before). Churchill VIII persues, comes into visibility of my Wespe which frantically cranks of an HE shot - bang! - Gun hit on the ugly british vehicle. In the same turn my Mark IV engages a buttoned Cruisader tank who was busy cresting a hill. First shot - Miss; Second shot - Miss; Cruisader swings turret, nicks and no more Mark IV. My halftrack mortar thingie gets immobilized in open terrain without being bogged before. A few turns later, on the flank where the Churchill VIII was backing off, my Wespe and the Stug were going to crest a hill to pump some HE stuff into british infantry. As soon as both vehicles had crested the hill, they came into view of my favourite Churchill with his disabled gun. But what happened now to my curioity? StugIII pops smoke and both vehicles backed off immediatly. Obviously they feared the Churchill's anti magnetic zone or the Stug TC was so happy with his newly found toy ( i.e. the smoke discharger) that he can't resist using it again . Later on, the battle concentrates around a large VF. My smoke Stug and his wizard Churchill enjoyed a parallel ride to that hotspot for two consecutive turns without noticing each other ( it is foggy). Then my Stug finally had enough of it, brings his gun to bear and finished the dark sorcery reign of the Churchill with a side turret shot. We have still eight turns to go in this battle and I wonder what will happen in them. I think that this awesome game won't stop me to be cought by surprises.
15.
quote:
Originally posted by Lord General MB: Soldier, If every Battle lasted for 5 more turns, wouldn't things be a little predictable? I'd go for a generator (set by the desinger) that tells what turn the game can start to end on, and what % that it will end on folowing turns.

Exactly LGMB We choosed to roll the percent die from turn 20 on. The game will end with a propability from 5% on turn 20 and 21, 10% from turn 22, 23 and 24 and finally with a propability from 50% from turn 25 on. As said above, the game will end with a 100% chance on turn 30. Of course, both players should be aware of when there is the chance and how likely it is that a battle ends. However, we are just in the beginning turns of our self made scenario and don't know anything about the possible gameplay effects of our "houserule". It is just an experiment. Schugger
16. Well, I really don't know if it is considered "gamey" when you hold back the majority of your troops and then undertake an all out attack on the last turn of a scenario in order to capture those VFs. I like it more when a battle goes back and forth with many pushes and counterattacks, but those last turn all or nothing attackes proofed to be quite effective. I'd like to know if anyone else here would like to see a feature where you can't be certain that a scenario ends at a given turn. Currently I'm playing a scenario with a friend wich is set to last for 25 turns. We agreed to roll a percent die from turn 20 on to see if the game ends earlier or if it lasts somewhat longer ( turn 30 is the max.).
17. It is sad bud true; Us germans have no humour and smile or even lough only once or twice a year. Loosing more wars ( and football matches)than I even dare to count, we degenarated in a hard bitten, pessimistic bunch of Schnitzel Eaters. Having sayed that, where the heck is the HKL? ------------------ Es gibt Tage da verliert man und Tage da gewinnen die anderen.
18. Airborne and all All HQ units can "spot" for any mortar teams you have onboard. The mortar uses then indirekt area fire which is somewhat unprecise at least. However, it doesn't matter if the mortar unit has been moved before, this is only important if you want to fire a mortar unit at a TRP. To fire with onboard mortars at TRPs there isn't any need to be in command of a HQ unit or have LOS to the TRP, but the mortar team should not have been moved. There is an excellent article written by Madmatt at the gamer's net ( sorry, but I'M still unable to post URLs) which explains the whole matter of indirekt onboard mortar fire very precisly. Hope this helps Schugger [This message has been edited by Schugger (edited 08-25-2000).]
19. Hari, Hari - 3rd July 1970 - I burn my old socks before I launch a new PBEM and in the smoke I see the signs of destruction and decay...
20. Great job, Sinpoet! Those pictures improve the game's immersivness even more ( especially if you use Otto as Wehrmacht Soldier). I luv them!
21.
quote:
Originally posted by Von Brizee: Rommel Rommel Rommel Rommel...... Why do you shoot your prisoners? Will you tell me where the minefields are? Will ya?!" POW: " Eh? Nix verstehn?" Lt Brizee: " Piss off, before I changed my mind!" KAWOUMM Lt Brizee:" Ok Sarge. Order the engineers forward!" Yopu guys are very inventive; I just never thought about that.
22. Hi Titan You may also wish to check Moon's site at gamesofwar.de Well, I'm still unable to post valid URLs and if it doesen't work, his site is also mentioned on the Combat Mission webring.
