1. Well OK I agree with all of your following arguments, however as Aitken said, Flamethrowers weren't really meant as anti-armor rolls. That's what I meant is that they usually haul ass to get soemwhere and then when they are near targets, namely infantry, they need a HUNT command to "hunt" the infantry in every sense of what the command normally does. And as Hofbauer said, a HUNT command would also be good for MG armed vehicles like haltracks and carriers, because tanks use it also don't they. Example, when tanks are on Hunt they will stop and engage first with MGs before engaging with main guns too don't they? Or do they fire their MGs while on the move? Can't remember right off hand.
2. That sounds about how my last PBEM went and I got my ass-kicked because of it. Damned Ami Arty tore me a new ass-hole. BTW, I have always hated and still do hate the QB editor. You can't finely edit your purchases to take advantage of every point.
3. Yes, definately make sure you get a 300 watt power supply. Someone else on here mentioned that you'll have lock-ups while running CM with those fast chips if you don't.
4. But Flamethrowers only have an effective range of 50m. Most of the time, you're either hauling ass with these units to get them near targets or away from danger. But when you're near targets and you want to move to keep up with them or "move to contact" as some may say, and then stop and fire, then yeah, they need a Hunt command. In a PBEM game I had a Flammpanzer. It was near the enemy. It had already spewed about 3 times, but the next turn I was wanting to advance it a little bit. The Hunt command came to mind, but it is not available. Therefore I used Fast Move and it dicked around and never fired another shot and in the process got wasted by a 'zook round.
5. The Hunt command really should be included for the SPW251/16, the Flammpanzer 38(t) and the Wasp Flamethrower Carrier. Too many times I try to use these units to do just what the Hunt command does and I can't because it is not available for those units. Backed-up Reasoning: Mortar units have the Hunt command, so why don't Flamethrower units? This really shouldn't be too difficult to implement. Should it?
6. WWII-Online has been discussed MANY times on this board and the most congenial outlook on it is that the massive multi-player type games tend to turn into a mass of trash when a lot of youngster get one it and ruin the theme. Take for instance (N)ever Quest, once the realm gets taken over by a bunch of morons, then the game loses its freshness.
7. That's why they called him "Ol' Blood & Guts". So what did Monty do? Sounds like my ol' log-in name.
8.
quote:
Originally posted by Rob/1: Oh look a sherman beside it.

I'll one up ya, Rob. That Sherman is actually a Firefly. See the ammo storage "box" behind the turret.
9. Bump. They have also fixed the Sharpshooter ammo problem. This bug came about by fixing something else.
10. A good Reference Book on German AFVs is "Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two" It contains pictures and information all every German AFV ever used during the war. Several of us here on the board have this book. I bought mine while still waiting for CM's release this past summer.
11. That's what you get with a Republican administration--low tax and interest rates. Only problem is, that doesn't help the economy grow. It stagnates it.
12. If you've got the CPU power to back it, go with a Geforce 2 "something". I'm not an expert on all those Geforce variants, so you'll have to get better information from other people.
13. WHAT??? No offense Makjager but... CM reverts back to the original textures??? I hardly think so...how could it? The old ones are no longer there if you over-write them. My guess to all these problems is that they are not putting them into the correct folder, because CM pulls from and only from the BMP folder (on a PC). If the files are anywhere else but there, they won't show up in the game. But if they don't unzip properly, then that's a different story. 14. But just remember, "A plan never survives contact with the enemy."
15. But just remember, "A plan never survives contact with the enemy."
16. Did you install it in the correct directory? If you didn't, then yeah you're not going to see the new version. Make sure you install it into the CMBO folder. Where ever that may be. The default is C:\Program Files\Cmbo I've got mine under C:\Cmbo
17. Just a little heads up from the "No Flamethrower ammo" thread. So nothing to see here, go back to gaming.
18. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card. For example, I have a 32MB Diamond Viper V770 TNT2 Ultra and I have the latest driver from Diamond for that card. It was released in February, but it still works with everything. People will talk about a Detonator 6.31 (I think) driver for TNT cards.
19. I've seen it all now! Maybe if the real bright Xmas tree was darker, then maybe, but just maybe...
20. What kind of battle is it? Meeting Engagement? etc?
21. Yep, we definately have a bug here. Infantry-team Flamethrower units and Sharpshooters start the game with "zilcho" ammo.
22. Charles, Better not make the "official" patch write over the modded explosion graphics by Matt and whoever else's they were. (The 3D ones.)
