1. I'm pretty sure that's all of them. 5002 is also the arm file for the US tank crews.
 2. Looks good. I like the middle pic. On a side note, Magua sent me his Heer Field Grey uniform and it included a photo-realistic german helmet texture. Best I've seen yet. Actually looks like a real helmet.
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by AndrewTF: Thanks Gyrene. I got kind of confused there, but maybe it's the darker gamma of the PC monitor that's making the mods look more saturated. Actually, I think I'm wasting too much time and energy thinking about this--I think they look fine as is, which is why I made them the way I did . Now, if someone wants to desaturate them--heck, convert them to grayscale!--I don't care. It's, as Tom stated, a matter of personal preference. I'll just continue to crank them out.

Yeah, don't worry about the gamma and saturation on your end, Andrew. Just like I said, it was pretty easy to subdue them after I had masked out the web gear. And I think you're probably right, the darker gamma would most probably be the culprit in making the uniforms look over saturated on PCs. So just pump out your uniforms and we'll do the rest. I
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by AndrewTF: Question: are PC users finding my mods too bright? They look pretty subdued on my system (Mac 8600/G3 w/Radeon), especially since I tried to get them to look good with all the subdued mods I'm using. If the general consensus is that they're too bright--maybe due to the gamma difference between Macs and PCs--I can try to tone them down in the future.

Well, they even looked too bright in the screenshots in this thread, so I guess YES is the answer to your question. My system: AMD 1.2GHz Athlon 64MB Geforce 2 GTS
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by AndrewTF: Cool. As a Mac user I'm kinda batch file ignorant--is this something that you can send to me as an e-mail attachment so I can include it in the next release (I just have to finish the camo pants)? If you could include some instructions for the readme that would be great, too.

OK, however, I'm going to a meeting tonight, so it might be a while till I can whip up the batch and stuff.
 6. Pvt Ryan is probably correct. Being that your soundcard was a SB Pro knock-off, it doesn't have its own processor. So it probably relies on your computer CPU to receive and playback sounds. Now if you had a SB Live! that has its own processor, then you would have probably heard all the sounds all along. That's kind of why I bought mine in the first place. I bought my SB Live! in anticipation of CM coming out last June. So I never knew what the full game sounded like on my old SoundBlaster 64 PCI.
 7. Hey I figured out a way to subdue these uniforms. I clicked up twice on the "green gun" and then thrice on the "blue gun".
 8. I can do a batch file set for them. I just whipped up a icon for the fall smock using a 32 x 32 selection from the smock itself and then overlaying the SS symbol over it. [ 06-13-2001: Message edited by: Maximus ]
 9. Matt, or shall I say O Great Bald One? I understand that you have Fernando's Tri-Color and Ambush Panther G mods in your hands. In fact, you've had them for a week as I understand. Is there any chance that you could post them anytime soon? And as for that, Fernando sent me a preview of his Panther A today after I inquired him about the Tri-Color set. And here's said Panther A:
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by *Captain Foobar*: Pzldr, holy cripes, what PZIV mod is that, it is absolutely dreamy!

Been out of the loop awhile Capt? That's Fernando's PzIV, it's on this page on CMHQ. [ 06-13-2001: Message edited by: Maximus ]
 11. For night skies, a new idea might be to make one just right before it goews completely dark. Like late twilight, instead of a total blackness. You know, like after the sun sets, but before all light is gone.
 12. What kind of video card do you have? If it's a Voodoo 3 or older, then that's why it loads the low-res textures. Voodoo 3's and older don't like textures above 256x256 pixels. Ben's Hi-Res skies are like what? 1024x256 or something?
 13. This is very easily remedied. Just go to your Bmp folder. Make a copy of 1553 or even 1557 (grass tile used for default elevation 7) for that matter. Rename it to 1503. The area you speak of will now match your current grass. Granted it will be a very stretched version of the grass tile. As the the game stretches a single 20m x 20m grass tile into the entire area between the battlefield and horizon.
 14. OK, slowly put down the joint and walk away. Gettin a little too weird Ales.
 15. The only answer that you can give to that question--"Why not?"
 16.
quote:
Originally posted by MrSpkr: drag your knuckles when you walk just like I do! Right? Right? Embarassed by Mace's apparent ignorance, the FAQ'ers . . .

...realized that Mace was once the one and the only, Noah, who we all know lived for just shy of 500 years back in the day. However that still doesn't explain why Mace...
 17. How about Jessica Simpson coming over to my house in nothing but a teddy and singing on of her songs?
 18. Hey, had to see it to believe it. Great work on the tunic. However I used DD's pants instead. Same basic color and look, just had DD's wrinkles in them.
 19. Yep. Just as Cubbies pointed out. There's also a good Jeep mod here on COMBAT MISSIONS.
 20.
quote:
Originally posted by hal9000: How long before the completion of CMBO was the demo released?

Well, the Beta Demo was released about eight months (Nov. 1999, IIRC) before the game was released in late June 2000. And the Gold Demo was released about a month and a half (mid-May) before the game was released.
 21. Michael, Can you do a smock for that leaves version? Is the Tan-Water smock v2 posted yet?
 22. I tired once using some interesting elevation tricks to try and duplicate the bridge's "guard towers" along with the "pavement" tile.
 23.
quote:
Originally posted by SuperTed: There seems to be some markings that warrant investigation at TOMMY: The British in Combat Mission.

Hmm, some glorious markings for the stock UC when we have a nice new Hi-Res version available. Talking about taking one giant leap backwards for mankind. People scream for hi-res AFV make-overs and when they get them, someone makes special markings for the stock textures. Really, now do tell me. Who's gonna use those? Mac users? LOL!
 24.
quote:
Originally posted by Reverendo: I might be mistaken, but why should they wear white uniforms, if they are inside a tank that is already white?

Well, in this case, the issue is with CM's file-sharing. You see, the arm file for the '44 US Infantry is also used for the Tank Crews, so whatever you do to that file, you must also do to the tank crew torso and side files. Some people were wanting winter '44 uniforms so I had to do it this way.
 25.
quote:
Originally posted by lcm1947: Yeah and do the American's drinking a coke. Just kidding. Cool idea but bet it's hard-coded (faces) where you can't.

lcm1947, are you sure you've been playing the same game the rest of us have? With a member number of 2981, you sure aren't up-to-date with the modding possibilites. To clarify, ANTHING with a detailed texture can be modded. Things like 'zooks, 'schrecks, grenades, bullets, berets, pistols, mortars, etc with a mono-colored polygon are hard-coded. [ 06-09-2001: Message edited by: Maximus ]
