  1. Make the roads 2 elevations above the water and they will conenct For large bridges, make it 4 elevations above the water
  2. SPOILERS X X X X X X X X X X X Well, to blow up the bridge, just have things target the same spot on it. I blew up the railroad bridge by firing at it for 3 turns with my Stuh42. The highway bridge should take a bit more but I think I can do it. Trying to withdraw my Puma with smoke first tho
  3. Can ya send a couple to me? Can't handle the huge file. Just like 5 megs or so of em. Prefer the GErman ones
  4. CC2 was a masterpiece, I still play it today. CC3 I didn't like. CC4 is great when you get some of the mods for it. One of the mods fixed the tank pathing so it works great now
  5. I zipped my schrecks to the middle of the map in Kubelwagens I didnt want them getting weary running there with the grunts.
  6. To use indirect fire: Have a mortar in command to a Platoon, Company, or Battalion HQ. The HQ must see the target. Order the mortar to fire at the ground near the target, and if it can fire indirectly, it will say AREA FIRE when you click the spot
  7. I was just posting this because I was doing a PBEM and I put 2 schreck teams in forward positions on a hill in some woods. I killed a Greyhound, 2 Shermans, and a halftrack with them. He cried "Gamey" and ended the game right there. I was just wondering what the people here have to say.
  8. Actually that sounds like a lot of fun. Even in a meeting engagement the battle could center over a bridge. Perhas this could be implemented?
  9. I was doing a big long battle and I dragged 3 of them up onto a hill with trucks and they lasted about 9 turns. Two got destroyed and I pulled the other one out after they died. They did pretty much wipe out a whole company almost.
  10. I race many support units into forward positions near the flags in meeting engagements. They are slow, thus I put them in vehicles and send them up there. The infantry platoons follow. MG42's and Panzerschrecks in forward positions slow the enemy down considerably. The forward AT teams don't die if you keep them hidden. I put a hide order after every move order for them. I put them somewhere in cover where an enemy platoon is unlikely to go. If I have a good shot on an enemy vehicle, I take it. I give them a target order and some pause commands so they start ditching right when the turn ends..............
  11. Try Nijmegen! I am doing it in a PBEM and it is a lot of fun. It is the Allied river crossing and the battle for the city all in one battle. I am being Axis and I fear for the worst The Americans, despite MASSIVE losses, have crossed the river in boats and are engaging my forces on my side of the river. I can only hold them off for so long... Ammo running low...Vastly outnumbered....Plus their ungodly smoke! And in the town on their side of the river. My forces are trapped! Their is no sense trying to cross the bridge to get to my side! House to house fighting is going on, as the Allies rush to get to the bridge before I blow it up! I have already demolished the railroad bridge, and I have now decided to give up hope on ALL my guys on that side of the river and demolish the highway bridge too! Houses are blowing up like crazy over there and I am happy to see several Allied tanks burning in the streets. My reinforcements appeared in a CRAPPY place, and all got shot up before they could rotate to shoot the threat. Maybe I'll be able to blow the bridge in time....
  12. I have heard people complain about using bazooka/schreck/PIAT teams as scouts and that it is gamey. I do not see why. In meeting engagements, I will sometimes load them up in a Kubel and dump them off in a forward position to try and nail a tank. The only way I can hurt my enemy this way is if he tries to advance vehicles without any infantry support with them, which I see as being daring or stupid. I will rarely throw a tank into the unknown, instead I will march ahead with a half team to ferret out dangerous things for the tank to blast them at long range. If my enemy decides to race his vehicles ahead to the objective, why is it gamey for me to race a Kubel with a schreck in it up into the woods near the objective and try and pick one off and haul ass back into the kubel after? ------------------ Weak men are the enemy of all
  13. CM: Bunker- Wooden, holds a HMG42. Pillboxes-Concrete-3 variants 1. Multiple MG42's 2. 75mm Pak 3. 88mm Pak
  14. I love how lots of people take criticism of Allies (Well, they can't be wrong, they DID win the war!) or praise of the Germans (How can that be right, they LOST!) Every side had it's good and bad tactics, men, and equipment....
  15. I wonder if the newbies who ask questions wonder what the hell is wrong with us and our Hamster obsession?
  16. I am Pillar Wanted to be Axis originally, but hey, Allied is fine I was trying to get in the first one but Thomas James turned me down since recon spots weren;t open That;s what I wanted to be, recon
  17. A Kursk setup would be better having Axis as defender so you could put in Pillboxes and Bunkers
  18. Actually they work pretty well as transports even when getting shot at. With the 1.05 patch trucks take about as much punishment as Halftracks took in 1.03. Advance a platoon of infantry in halftracks. You can get past an open area relatively safely, just KEEP moving. Dismount when you get near enemy infantry
  19. with the town, just rush right in there. In the foresty areas, pound it with shells and tank fire while your infantry advances
  20. SPOILERS X X X XX X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X I did this one in a PBEM. I was Axis. The relief column actually had two tanks RACE through my town and get near the Rangers, but mass Schreck fire killed one and the other one actually fought for 30 seconds before tons of infantry rushed it. As for getting to the roadblock. Well, even though you need to go fast, you should still have some recon. Send half squads RUNNING ahead and if they get shot, be ready. Don't go down the road with the Flak, and send scouts ahead to look for mines
  21. So I suppose American tactics are horrible because of that Vietnam thing, eh? But oh, I forgot, that doesn't count, because you're American, right?
  22. In CC2, snipers were not snipers, but barenuckle brawlers. I was playing a CC2 Grand Campaign against my friend, and in the Schjindel area I had my Scharfschutze named Vogel saving the day for me every time. When the Amis got within 20 meters of him, he would unload on them with his semi-auto rifle and kill a few. When that was empty, it was slicin' time. I would just have him rush whole squads with his knife and massacre them. I won a battle that might have saved the whole campaign for me with him. My defense line was falling apart but I had Vogel zipping around wasting Americans left and right. My opponent couldn't keep track of where he was! All is quiet...... Suddenly.... Vogel charges out of the street into a house and quicklly slits the throats of a 30 cal MG team. Quiet again. 60mm mortar team is waiting for orders. Suddenly.. Vogel bursts out of the bocage and before they can react, they are all dead by his knife. Quiet again... A shattered 2 man rifle team is taking shelter in a house from my MG42. Vogel rushes in and kills the Sarge in an instant. The cowardly private puts his hands up and screams "Don't shoot!" but Vogel is too quick, and knifes him anyway. No time for prisoners....... And that's how the whole CAMPAIGN went. During that battle alone, Vogel killed 27 soldiers. Several surrendered to him, but he either knifed them or let them go bugger off to the rear. During the 8 days of that campaign, Vogel killed 86 American and British soldiers, along with an open topped Achilles Tank Destroyer. What a guy. He finally was killed on the ninth day, when he rushed a Rifle Squad and they got the better of him in hand to hand combat. Vogel was wounded 12 times before he died. If I can dig deep I can find a screenshot of that little bastard from 2 years ago Sniff sniff They don't make em like they used to!
  23. lol Damn! Giving information to the enemy!!! I am incredibly surprised my jeeps are stil living! I thought they would be dead by now!!
  24. If there were lots of mines about, I send POW's forward to find them for me. What is so bad about that? It is better THEIR men than MY men. If you were a platoon CO, would you rather send your boys forward into danger or the guys who were shooting at you 5 min ago? Doesn't matter anynore though since we can't do it anymore
