Hey, I feel for you man! I was using UN-observed 8 inch naval guns, and a the things were landing all over! 3 hit my nerve center, where I had my Battalion HQ, several mortars, MG's, spare transports, and a reserve company. Killed most of them. The rounds kept coming in wreaking havoc until...... My spotter dropped one right on his own head!!!!!!!!!!

Can't be a GM, but are there any soldier positions available? I tried to get in the first one but they wouldn't let me then since I only had the game a week when I applied and would probably get whipped.

I always like pretending I have lots of arty spotters in my PBEM games. Like "Damn! That tank shell spooked my arty spotter into canceling his fire! Now I gotta start over again!" Or.... "My stupid Tiger keeps bogging down" When I don;t even have one....

Tanks would be cheaper if you bought them in units because infantry is cheaper that way too. I think if you bought 3 platoons, and then bought a company, the INFANTRY cost of the Company is less than the 3 platoons.

My 10 year old cousin was very into CC4: Battle of the Bulge. His favorite unit was Jochen Peiper's because it had a whole load of Panthers in it. He didn't know anything of atrocities or whatnot, he just found out by playing that Panthers ruled, and the unit with the most of them was his favorite. So he joined a Wargaming Forum and made his name SS Joachim Peiper. He had no idea why people were flaming him and he was eventually banned. I explained it to him and he realized that some people get offended by those types of things, so he just changed his name to PantherCommander. Just teach the little guy not to talk about the Germans until he's older

Okay I just had to laugh too hard when I saw this. I was playing CM and I had a Tiger sitting in the rear next to a Kubelwagen with my elite company HQ in it that has only 2 men left alive. Well suddenly, half a British platoon comes bursting out from behind them! My Tiger starts unloading his Nah-whatever and one round lands INSIDE the Kubelwagen, blowing it up and killing the crew and Company CO! Without him, my big platoon (remnants of 2 platoons that lost their HQ's) started to fall apart. Damn that Tiger

Okay here goes: I was sending up half squads to do scouting. I had them Run up forward for a long way off ahead of the platoons. I loaded up my Panzerschrecks in Kubelwagens. (because they lag behind) I sent them up into the positions where the infantry platoon was supposed to arrive 2 or 3 turns later maybe. I bring them on foot about 20 meters in front of my positions that my platoon is gonna go in to. I always thought it was good to have AT weps forward and then pull back to safety after a shot or two. Also, I expected them to maybe get shot at and I didnt want my troops to be hurt by area fire. My opponent was rushing forward with several tanks and 2 platoons in halftracks and trucks. I wasted some vehicles I have realized from this forum that what I did is normally a bad idea, but it was my first PBEM and I was doing what seemed good to me
