  1. Das Interview -> http://www.spiegelfechter.com/wordpress/392/das-interview (sorry only in German language)
  2. I have no idea of game-engines, so this may be absolutly useless, but what about this (it's for free as far as I understand)?:
  3. This is the enthusiasm I like to see !!! ...thany you very much for this! Here is a link with some pics who show buildings: http://www.bildagentur-walder.de/katalog/d/nw/dn/huertgenwald_01.htm Hürtgenwald mod-nirvana: http://www.walder-verlag.de/reisen/1-19_reisefuehrer_sehenswertes_aachen-euregio-nordeifel.htm
  4. Maybe there is some answer already in some thread, but I have not found it. So sorry for asking again in this case: The first WW2 setting will be Westfront - Normandy. This means there will be no snow and all the landscape/building objects in the editor will be in 'normandy-look'? The next module will then be Ostfront? And it's first then, when we will get snow but also now east-european look? I really would like to see/make some scenarios about the not so offen seen episodes of WW2-Westfront in Central europe. (Westwall - Aachen, Hürtgen Forest Sep-Feb 44 and Thuringia/Saxony in April 1945). That means for editor: - half-timbered houses, black-pinetree woods without underbrush, oak/beach-tree woods with underbrush and some addition to artillery and roadblock/IED model's to simulate Hürtgen-style forest fighting. Any chance to see this in CM someday?

  6. Just want to make clear that I don't know the author. I have just found the article in the deeps of cyperspace and pasted it here, because it contains much cmsf-relevant info. But feel free to discuss on guys...
  7. There are rumors that Honecker wanted to crack the demonstrations in Leipzig with NVA-Tanks, but his advisers could get it out of his head, because a large part of GDR population was trained as Kampfgruppen. (factory militia - trained for urban fighting) off topic, I know. -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_Groups_of_the_Working_Class
  8. The weapon icon of the AKS-74U seems to be missing. There is a pic in the manual, but when I take a syrian SF HQ unit, the two AKS-74U will have a AKS-74 picture. But the actual weapon model is right and when pointing on the icon it also "says" AKS-74U. I could not make more indepth test, because I have still problems with the grafic of the menus. When I move my mouse, random parts of the interface will vanish. That is ok when choosing scenarios, but I can't use the editor. (ATI Sapphire RADEON X800).
  9. Good article about PDWs: -> http://www.quarry.nildram.co.uk/PDWs.htm
  10. from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzerfaust_3 : "...The Panzerfaust 3 consists of a disposable launcher tube holding the projectile and a reusable firing and sighting unit. The projectile consists of a shaped-charge warhead filled with Amatol/Syndril and a shaft including the propulsion unit. The Panzerfaust 3 can be fired from enclosed spaces since it doesn't have a too dangerous a backblast; The rear of the tube, filled with plastic granulate, minimizes the blast effect by the so-called recoilless countermass principle. The booster propellant for the projectile in its tube is ignited by a bolt via a spring mechanism. Once ejected, the rocket motor is ignited. As safety precautions, the built-in fuse for the warhead is released by a safety mechanism. This arms the warhead after a flight distance of approximately five meters, keeping the crew safe after firing. Once armed, the warhead can explode when it hits a solid object, or when the rocket's propellant runs out. This safeguards against live ammo staying around and causing hazards to all in the future..."

  12. Nice to see a Cold War mod in the works. Time to repost some nice stuff to fresh up the mood. Der 3. 13. There is some combat footage in the first video (from page 2 of the link above) -> The video itself is cool in its own way. It has this cold war hidden propaganda mood. Surreal. [ March 05, 2008, 12:31 PM: Message edited by: Smaragdadler ]
  14. Nice find. some pictures: Transnistria 1992. Forgotten Conflict http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=117031 Battlefront should drop the US-Marines and make a Transnistria-Modul instead:

  16. Seems I have some time to wait still I can play a setting like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rwYTnd8c4w&mode=related&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEl6VJr6t48&mode=related&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y68nfAbuLGI&mode=related&search=
  17. When I zoom in view, the problems with sluggish mouse goes completly away. If I zoom out it is again there.
  18. Problem: Sometimes Low FPS. Game runs to slow for really playing (but not all the time, sometimes it goes really smooth for some seconds). mouse moving is a pain. Installed MS fix/ switched off core 1/ set all option to off/low, but no change. System: CMSF BF download version 1.1 Windows XP Home Edition 5.1.2600 Sevice Pack 2 Bulid 2600 Intel Pentium(D) 2xCPU 2.8 GHz [x86 Family 15 Model 4 Stepping 4]with 2GB RAM Sapphire RADEON X800, driver 8.383.0.0 / date 6/13/07 Additional info: Just want to report, that when I zoom-in view the mouse lag and slugish view goes away at my system. And it goes really smooth, settings in option set to on/high.
  19. When I remember right, the first reviews for CMBO in mainstream game-magazine (at least here at Germany) where not so enthusiastic. But CM has become a success nevertless. Believe me you new guys, you can have thrust in Battlefront. For them the 'product' comes first and money second, not the other way around, (but the second 'pushes' the first of course). CM is their 'child' and their 'soul'. They will give all what they can to make, it 'grown up'. Battlefront is CM, CM is Battlefront. And if you take in count that most is coded by just one guy, you have to give credits to Battlefront. It's really amazing how far CM has gone and it WILL go further and better than many products of the big companys out there.
  20. Had pre-ordered and downloaded on 27, but game (mouse pointer) lags too much on my system to play it with fun. Found nothing in the threads that helps at my system, but other reported it too. So I have too wait. Am I angry? Absolutly not. Was there since the the CMBO-demo, and I have seen it all before. I know problems will be fixed as much as possible in the fastes time as possible. I can have patience. (Something of real valour for battle strategist - learned it from playing CM ) Have now a reason to give CMBB a new try. All is fine and will get even better in the future... (When CMSF v1.3 is out - all this will be forgotten...) [ July 29, 2007, 12:42 PM: Message edited by: Smaragdadler ]
