  1. The problem that some people have is they don't have a plan "B". Everyone has a plan "A" and they're sure it will carry them to victory. The moment it falls apart they bolt. I find that some of the best PBEM games i've enjoyed are when my plan "A" hits the fan and I'm forced to improvise, on the fly, with greatly reduced forces. BTW, Flix, e-mail me with your pref. of game and side and i'll send you a set-up ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  2. Myself, At work I have this site opened up the whole day. However, my work situation is unique at the moment so i'm taking advantage of the "slack" time. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  3. Greetings Gents, Having just concluded several PBEM games, I find the number of remaining games have fallen below acceptable levels. I must re-stock my PBEM folder with new opponents, Therefore... Send me your set-ups!!! Any game/side, your choice. I can usually can get in 2-3 turns a day during the work week, and up to 8-10 on the weekends. Check my profile to get the web address to send to. I'll be skipping out of work early today (3:30pm EST) so i should be able to get in a good number of turns today. I hope to hear from you. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  4. Damm...I thought this thread was about Mechanized Polish engineers clearing barbed wire...nevermind ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  5. Germanboy, Not to sound critical or anything, but perhaps you need to re-think your tactics with the 150 IG. In the past i used to position my 150 with excellent LOS to large areas of the battlefield, and with free rein to engage anything it chose. I quickly realized that didn't work. I now position it in cover with only a small area of responsibility and with an ambush marker to prevent it from blasting away prematurely. If positioned properly and hidden until the right moment it could be a showstopper. Having said that, i do agree with you about the way it 'bounces' from target to target. I understand that Charles did address that issue. I hope this helps ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  6. And the 2000 plane carpet bombing missions that started Operations Goodwood and Cobra. I'm pretty sure they busted a few holes in the hedgerows. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"

  8. Are you sure you have full FOW on? Also, Are you controlling the placement of the FO (are you the Amis)? If so, i'd check the LOS your unit has to the enemy. Remember, if you can see them, then they can see you. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  9. Rey del Puerqo, Use the best tactic known to man...common sense. It's not guaranteed to win everytime, but you will never lose because of it. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  10. Wasn't it Prince Charles that said "Bad English is the universal language"? ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  11. I believe Dittohead was referring to the FOs of CM, in which case as long as the team can function (not broken, routed, or both are dead) then they can always contact the battery which they control. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"

  14. Sorry to all for having to post, but Buddy doesn't list his e-mail address in his profile, so i'm hoping he reads this. Buddy, i'm one of your PBEM opponents (sc112565@aol.com)and i haven't heard from you in quite some time. Do you still want to continue our game? If so send me your next turn. If i don't hear from you by the end of the week i'll assume you've moved on to bloodier pastures and i'll dump the game to free up my HD space. Hope to hear from you ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  15. Yes, it has happened to many of us (myself included). It seems to only happen in PBEM games and only lasts a turn. It is a bug that BTS is aware of. Don't worry, your tank will act properly in the next turn. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  16. Panthers!!! Wait a minute, what setting did you start CE at? ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"

  20. Doug, I respectfully disagree. I believe a "close assault" command (not follow target) will be both beneficial and realistic. Now correct me if i'm wrong, but right now we cannot command an inf. unit to move to and attack a tank or other large target. We instead tell them to move to "x" and hope the threat function kicks in and instructs them to attack. To me that is unrealistic. I certainly can picture a CO telling his men to close assault the pillbox rather than move next to it and see what develops. On the point of people bichin' about their units stumbling into an ambush, oh well. Remember that each turn is only 60 seconds long. If the target has moved or is destroyed you can always cancel the order. If someone decides to have an inf. squad continue to chase a moving tank for longer than a turn, than they deserve to get popped. Although i understand that they' ll be no more changes to CM1,I would still like to hear Steve or Charles take on this ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  21. You can give the AT gun an ambush command. If that spot where the tank fires from is in the AT guns LOS, then target an ambush marker there and it will wait for it. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  22. Boy, does this thread bring back an ugly memory... I was in a PBEM game of CE as the Germans. I decided to advance 2 platoons of infantry across the open ground to the left of the church with the smaller ridge as the objective. My opponents surprised the hell out of me by blitzing all his Shermans with inf. embarked to the church. As a result my inf. platoons were caught in wide open ground with no hope of making it to cover alive. I did the only thing i could do, Split my squads and charge the tanks with the hope of popping a couple with my fausts. Needless to say they just ran right up to the tanks and just sat there taking 75mm HE rounds in the face Aaron, is that you i hear laughing? ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
