  1. Hmmm...I invisioned the heavens opening up and a multitude of angels descending with copies of CM for all the faithful. Oh well, maybe if i squint hard enough i can picture a halo above the UPS guy. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  2. John, did you get my file this morning? any problems? ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  3. Drop your ---- and grab your socks! Once again i've got the honey-do from hell, except this time i'm inside the house all day. Is anyone interested in a marathon PBEM game? If so send me your set-up. To all my current PBEM opponents, i haven't left you out. Send me those files! ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  4. Oh well, at least my intentions were good OB&G....I mean Maximus, like i said earlier, when it comes to computer coding, i'm lost in the weeds. The only thing my member status signifies is that i talk too much (sometimes about things i know nothing about) ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  5. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Mikester: Can't remember where I read it. Mikester out.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> You are correct, it was the Germans ( Manteuffel's 5th PZ army to be exact). I read where he used it twice during the initial attack in the Ardennes. Once to light the way for the 'Storm battalions' in the early morning hours of the attack, and later on that evening to help guide the tanks. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  6. Good morning all, Now this may sound like off the wall,as i know squat about how this game is coded and whether this could work, but bear with me... As i understand it, the game has the same code as the Gold demo we've been playing for weeks. With that in mind, what would prevent a player that has recieved the game create a DYO battle, zip it, email it to a friend in Europe, Austrailia, etc...and have them at least enjoy another scenario while they wait. I had a similar problem way back when CE came out. I was unable to D/L the extra scenario and asked for help. Guachi was kind enough to e-mail me the entire scenario and the problem was solved. Could what i just suggested be any less possible? Any thoughts? ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  7. iggi, Sorry to say this, but your new credit card with the photo I.D. was not a good idea ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  8. Sure thing, i'll see if i can book out of work early to get it sent ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  9. I've read accounts of Rommel's troops using a leap-frog tactic against the British in North Africa. They would blitz towed 50m AT guns into little hollows and folds in the ground to establish a base of fire for the Panzers, who would race ahead to gain their own cover. Once the tanks were emplaced, they cover the towed AT guns to leapfrog to new positions, and so on. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  10. Thanx guys, I'll see what i can do when i get home tonight. Sniperscope, I'm almost certain i sent you the latest and greatest. Check the e-mail file labeled "i'll crush you like a roach" or "Ooops, guess you didn't need that third Stug". If not i'll re-send tonite. Are you up for a marathon session of CE? I'm brewing a pot of Cuban coffee when i get home ZZZZZZIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGG!!!!!!!! ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  11. Maximus, thanks for replying. I unfortunately am not at my home PC so i couldn't tell you, but i'm sure they could use an update. If the video card driver is the culprit, then what is the procedure to fix the problem?
  12. Ok guys, i need your help... I posted this problem of mine a while back but it got lost in the Gold rush. My problem is that i can't see anything in the text screens. All i get is solid black. This means i can't access the hotkey commands, the unit stats, re-inforcements have arrived, etc... I have a Gateway 2000, P2-233, 160mb Ram. Everything else about the game works fine. I am open to any suggestions, please help. Thank you ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  13. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by freelancal: How can I prevent this from happening again? <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Line the map edges with minefields and barb wire ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  14. I've just started a PBEM game of VoT(i am the amis). My opponent places the Pak40 pillbox on the big hill located on the far German right. I have a 105 Sherman located on the crossroad near my map edge. First turn starts and my 105 fires at the pillbox. First shot of the game and it goes right into the firing slit, the whole sequence taking 15 seconds to complete Nevertheless, he is a very good opponent and he has a +50% increase in forces, so this game is by no means over. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  15. Yes, but i'm the Evil one... ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  16. But the turn in which they arrive is sometimes random, so he might be wasting valuable ammo for nothing. BTW, some might see that as very 'gamey' and object. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  17. I'm in the middle of a PBEM game of CE as the Germans. I had parked a Stug behind the Church. The TC was perched proudly atop his steed, the ruler of all he surveyed. Suddenly, my opponent begins dropping 60mm mortar rounds and one hits squarely on the roof of the Stug. Instantly i get a shocked, buttoned-up crew with the TC as a casuality. One can draw the mental image of the Stug crew nervously waiting for the enemy to appear, then a big BOOM hits the roof, the headless TC's body slowly slumps into his seat, and the crew just freaks!! I do love this game ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  18. Question re: tall pines Are airbursts treated differently when they hit tall pines as opposed to regular woods? ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  19. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Knaust: Damn...what does all this mean??? <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> I believe that Berli is reserving a scenario for double blind matches. Berli, did i get that right? ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  20. Somehow i knew my post to sniperscope would bring you out of the shadows Lady luck smiled at you when it came to my schrecks I believe that if at any time one of my shrecks were to walk up to one of your Shermans, lean forward, and press the end of the launchers barrel flush against the side of the tank and pressed the trigger, they would've still missed! Nevertheless, a Damm fine slaughter, i must admit. I too am looking forward to another go at it ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  21. What am i doing? Well, i'm about to slam multiple 75mm AP rounds into your 3 Stugs, and then scatter the body parts of your infantry across the lush German countryside, why do you ask? ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  22. Actually, IMO,this ranks as the worst thread to hit this site http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/Forum1/HTML/003834.html ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  23. Hello Jeff, The Pause command will delay your units order execution in 15 second increments. So if you hit pause twice you get a 30 second delay. You can use this to get a closer response time for different units assigned to the same mission. However, you must take into consideration alot of other factors when determining unit response times. For instance... 1) unit morale 2) unit experience 3) command radius 4) terrain All these things will effect a units response time. It is tricky to get units of different commands (Stugs and offboard arty) to coordinate together, not impossible, just tricky. I hope this helps ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  24. Gaff, I'm as Irish as a plate of Arroz con Pollo. Please enlighten me ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
  25. Berli is right. IIRC, The only exception to that is when they are hitting the target reference point. ------------------ "I do like to see the arms and legs fly"
