  2. Two member numbers below me, and exactly the same feelings. We must have been separated at registration. All the best Andreas
  3. In that case though Jon arent you really saying that it depends on who detonates the device and why more so than if the actual device coudl be considered an IED or not? Dan </font>
  4. I can see why Kingtiger aficionadas maybe royally p*ssed off about this. All the best Andreas
  5. I hope the next game will make all the whining crybabies whine and cry even more, just like the annoying prats that they are. Maybe then they spontaneously self-combust in a cloud of righteous anger
  6. Wow. The tank-infantry telephone. Great innovation. Who would have thought of that?! All the best Andreas
  7. It's going to be a near future WW2 game, set in 1947. The Swiss government has been overthrown by Nazi fundamentalists, and the Allies are called on to restore order and, errr, protect the gold reserves. You are Major Kelly in command of a heroic US armoured infantry battalion and your mission is to deal with the Tiger tanks in the village, or sumfink. It's going to be called CM:KH (Kill Hitler). The other possible title is copy-right protected. All the best Andreas
  8. Hi Anthony Completely correct, I looked at the wrong table. Having said that, the city census is getting on to 12 years old, and the population of the Hims Governorate has increased by 200,000 in the period, which at least would make Hims a substantial city as well (if we assume that the growth is co-inciding with further urbanisation). All the best Andreas
  9. In Europe, it appears that the RMA is still at a much more fundamental stage. From www.ft.com
  10. And if anyone had been told prior to 9/11 that German troops would fight in Afghanistan they would have been declared insane. On 18 September, the far-left party that argued for a withdrawal of German troops from Afghanistan got less than 9% of the vote. Seems that most of the voters had other concerns. All the best Andreas
  11. Usually very good advice vis-a-vis the neo-nazi scum. However were one to ignore a turd in their coffe cup the resulting taste would never-the-less be just as unwelcome and unpleasant. </font>
  12. Err, no. Only Euro customers who are not interested in simulating the most advanced major army in the world have a need to feel like that. Those who are interested in simulating modern warfare regardless of whether it is conducted by US, British, German, or South-Timbouktounese forces have nothing to complain about. It is not a US/Euro issue, so let's not make it one. All the best Andreas
  13. What if your grandfather was killed at Kursk? Do you think that CMBB should not have simulated Kursk? All the best Andreas
  14. I don't think you can expect an AFV named Schwarzkopf any time soon. Spelling issues there... plus I don't recall any US AFV's named after a living person, are there any? And who's General Stryker? </font>
  15. I for one, welcome our new Syrian overlords. All the best Andreas
  16. There's a reason I did not google for this. All the best Andreas
  17. Thanks a lot Mike! All the best Andreas
  18. Just thought I'd ask. I have looked at the usual sites (FAS, Globalsecurity.org), but there is not a lot except for some very basic info. The only analysis I read of Syrian performance related to the 1982 war in Lebanon, and it was dire then. I am not talking about kit, but training levels, etc. Even if Syrian MBTs are more of a thread than Iraqi ones were, this won't help the Syrian army very much if the skill level of the soldiers manning them is not a lot better too. The Iraqui army was not really a major issue in GW1 and 2, while now the mass-murderers commonly called insurgents are. BFC does however seem to expect that the Syrian army would be able to hold its own a bit better. So, does anyone have some info on what the Syrian army is actually capable off in terms of combined arms/MOUT warfare? Has pretty constant exposure to the IDF helped them in staying keener than the Iraqi army? Thanks a lot in advance for any comments. All the best Andreas
  19. I don't think so, judging e.g. from this report; Toudaigaku Check the topo maps. Damascus is a city with up to >2m inhabitants. If I read this table correctly, there are seven cities with >1m, of these 2 >2m, of these 1 >3m inhabitants. Should give a lot of opportunity for MOUT. All the best Andreas
  20. Be that as it may - no good will come of political discussion on this board. Then again, this thread could do with a mercy bullet, err padlock, anyway. All the best Andreas
  21. I feel the need to point out that he does not speak for Germany, but for the creepy neo-nazi community in Germany, which has nothing to say on behalf of the sane German people, who are still in a vast majority. I don't know anyone who was happy about Katrina hitting at all, and I do not think I have come across anyone who thinks of the Iraqi mass-murderers as freedom fighters. At least noone who was willing to mention that while in the company of others. All the best Andreas
  22. Well done, thanks a lot for that! All the best Andreas
