Hi Kwazy -- Sorry I havent gotten back to ya ... been engrossed with school and the 3d thing amongst otehr things. Hmmn Time for tcpip soon? As far as CC goes I did buy 5 because the demo showed much improvement over their past two efforts. Unfortunately the full version purchasing system sucks! Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I hated having to quit playing cold turkey but I knew it was the only way to get any work done Especially since I was logging 12 hrs a day on CM before this semester started I cant wait until my first TCPIP game... Well in light of the recent TCPIP news, the second I got home from school I fired up CM to try and shake off the rust. I loaded up a QB of 700 pts in a village with the allies attacking. Slight hills and modest trees. I had my first ever perfect game and totallyy crushed the AI I didnt lose a man I would post a screen but I'm not sure how to put a Jpeg in here.... if someone would tell me and are interested I will add it in a nutshell this is the results Allied attacker Axis Defender 53 casualties (11 kia) 16 captured 1 mortar destroyed 8 vehicles knocked out men ok 10 men ok 89 score 0 score 100 allied surrender , Axis total victory

Steve, Thanks for the prompt response and for your approval on the LAn play. I'm sure I speak for most when I say the delay on TCPIP wasnt a big deal, as we know when it is released it will be very stable. I'm sure you guys must be ready for a break before CM2 gets cranking. Well this doesnt suprise me in the least. I have owned two 3dfx cards; The first the 16 meg banshee = POS. The second which Now runs in the other machine is a voodoo 3 2000 = POS. I also have friends running Voodoo (more recent) I have a Viper770 in this machine and the quality of picture over the Voodoo 3 in my sons is astonishing. I wouldnt buy another 3dfx product if I were paid too. Creative Labs also makes real crappy stuff (except sound cards). ------------------ SS_PanzerLeader.......out

I recently ran across this in a program I was doing at school, and wondered if the internal floating point representations could lead to problems in programming calculations. This proves to be a very interesting discussion for me although not the best news Is the difference in the number representations a constant for all numbers? ie does the difference between the representations == .000002 (arbitrary) consistantly for all calculations? If so is there a way to compare the two and ensure the result becomes the same as intended? Maybe by compensating the differrence on the one machines calculations? Just a thought but I'm still student so I always have questions If you can spare a second tho I would like to hear your thoughts on this thanks ------------------ SS_PanzerLeader.......out

Speaking as a CIS student who is trying to gain the knowledge to get into the games industry, I still feel this game does NOT and should NOT be made mod-able. I currently am learning how to work with Level Editing using various tools including WC and UE as well as some generic Engines. Yet even tho I am starting to get into this area to compliment my school work, I still realize that this game Is based on historical facts and figures. This stuff has been painstakenly researched and tested, and everybody and his brother should'nt be able to mess with the units codes as it would allow cheating and it would unbalance the game. ------------------ SS_PanzerLeader.......out

Well I can't believe it the demo swayed me and I bought the full version, something I never thought I would do. The maps are very nice and the effects, AI blows but that was expected... But I bought it for the multiplayer which is alot of fun , I playe d a few games int he zone tonight and had a great time ... been a long time since i gamed till 2 am I still love CM the best but I am awaiting multiplayer ;p I've only played a few games and havent explored it totally but it is far better than CC3 or CC4 which is why I bought it. The Air strikes are pretty sweet as well Its nice to see atomic made some worthy changes ... maybe some of BTS rubbed off on them . Hopefully they will continue to improve and we will get a super RTS one day in the ww2 genre ------------------ SS_PanzerLeader.......out

I downloaded this late last night, and played a quick game against the AI-- which I thrashed ...I must say tho It was alot of fun. I was pleasantly suprised as I expected their usual rubbish (cc3 & cc4) and it appears that they have finally made some much needed improvements. here is my views so far 1. tank VS tank combat ... unkown entity -- no alied tanks included 2. infantry vs tank... I managed to whack both with bazooka teams 3. tanks vs infantry... my infantry held up well in the buildings ... but my infantry placement stopped the tanks getting far enuff in 4. Command Called mortar strike... ouch! 5. explosions, smoke look awesome 6. The AI shouldnt try and cross an open field underr fire 7. Superior graphics to any thing released so far, maps were sweet. After CM I dont take it as a serious wargame but It is intense and fun.. I hope the full version is as good .. I may buy it if so It will be a good game for me to play afer wracking my brain in CM TCPIP ------------------ SS_PanzerLeader.......out

Hmnn, I 'm not sure even as an option if the rarity ratings would be a good feature for the game and would overall it could prove to be unbalancing. Basically the favor would be tipped to the allies due to their higher production levels of equipment. It seems this scale of combat was chosen to ensure the balance of a battle which would not be present in larger scale conflicts. If the rarity rating were introduced, trying to maintain that balance would prove to be a very large headache IMO. You have a wonderful game as it is guys, please focus on TCP/IP and CM 2 Thanks ------------------ SS_PanzerLeader.......out

BTS: PLease leave the points alone! changing the points are not gonna help keep the anti-gamey crowd in check - they still won't be satisified and pretty soon they well want edge creep and some other new feature addressed. The game is great as is (still needs TCPIP of course! ) If the price of vehicles gets hiked then some vehicles just will be a waste of money totally ... some of the lights became that way afer the first tweak. If this happens they may as well not even be in the game -- then that is less realisitic. So I vote leave it ... as is ------------------ SS_PanzerLeader.......out

I am currently a student and geting pretty heavy into C programming, with this I'm also dabbling in C++. I reccomend a book called " Sam's Teach Yourself C in 21 Days" Java is also a derivative of C as is C++. By the time I'm finished I will be adept with all three I also find that visual C++ is a good IDE. As stated above choose the Windows Console APP selection for your project, that way youc an do some basic stuff in C++ ------------------ SS_PanzerLeader.......out
