  1. Hey guys I have a few more questions that I hope can be answered when ya get free minute ( if there is such a thing) 1. Is it possible to add a feature to allow you to lasso multiple units ( ie a squad ) that may initially be heading in the same general area, or possibly allow a contrl click feature ( as in windows multi file select) allowing us to select a few units at a time - in certain areas of the game this would decrease move time and setup time. 2. Is there any way for all the units to be shown in menu form on screen at once? Would this be a large coding job to have a toggled interface for this? If this has been addressed I apologize I couldnt find any threads. If this cant be done for the first release, maybe later? 3. Is it possible to code a double click, to enable the ablility to go to a unit on the map when they are shown. 4. Will there be an overall manual with each units relative statistics ( like the ones that can be toggled individually ) 5. Last but not least - is there anyway to enable a drag an drop feature for unit movent during setup phase? if not now maybe later Most of the above are really jsut convienience items that us ex-closecombat enthusiasts have grown accustomed to- Im sure if this isnt possible Im sure Ill get unnacustomed- the important thing is youve done a spectacular job in gameplay Oh one last thing in a PBEM game on my turn the vid played an it wouldn't allow me to mae a turn when i clicked done - it jsut froze - any ideas? Thanks SS_PanzerLeader..... out
  2. HAHAHA sounds like you are quoting actaul scripture from the atomic game designers bible in the chapter entitled " WWII the way it really was spoken by the veterans of Atomic" I hear that its replacing local history books lol SSPL out

  5. hear hear I concurr completely- once again Atomic had proven to its customers that it doesnt care what they think,in regards to any aspect of their game- had they gone back to the cc2 style of graphics and gameplay, then fixed some of the ai errors -(like they were hounded about in the zone during a meeting with us 'peons' -that pay their check -which they seem to have forgotten). Maybe the guys a BTS can give the clowns at ATOMIC some lessons on customer appreciation, interaction, and general problem solving -- not to mention several history lessons BTS has shown them up in any aspect I can think of involving the wargaming genre THANKS BTS for doing what ATOMIC hasnt got an inkling nor desire to do. 8. please ignore the typo in the above statement hit enter b4 i proofread--- I can read honest :-P
  9. well I agree I want to fun in a game but what has undermined fun in past wargames of the past is historical inaccuracies and the consequences of such on gmaeplay- nothing would steam me more than watching the ai do some completely bogus move that was historically impossible or improbable - but maybe you you are having fun when your Kingtiger is taken from play with a bazooka at 250 yds from the front SS_PanzeerLeader... out
  10. ive also notcied that in certain places - los appears to be clear even when viewed in first person camera position - yet I have no shot maybe BTs can give us someinsight onthis or anyone that may be able to help SS_Panzerleader.... out
  11. ok heres my two cents worth this should add fuel to the fire :-P I have read this extensive thread regarding sighting differences and it appears to me that even if these results were 'guestimated' would this really have any significant impact on the overall play of the game- considering the many major issues that have already been addressed and solved regarding realism? I would think not IMHO , but I would like to point of that combat is highly unpredictable as we all know and there are probably numerous other 'factors' that could be taken into account to promote a marginal modifer. With this in mind and with the regard to hell cats withstanding any punishment _ heres what happened in this precise senario last night - which cost me the game (as I could only take three flags after this devastating encounter). I was the axis force and working my way into a position to be effective, both with my armor in conjunction with my infantry. I complimented my movements with well placed smoke and suppressive fire all was going well.... Enter three hellcats on the ridge ( which I knew were coming but was not playing as I was expecting them - in other words I didnt set up to waste them on appearance, as this would cause a lame game) so .. the hellcats launch an opening barrage -three hits on the tiger - imobilization - deflected , and top penetration ( i had just got done explaing the significance of this upper position to my son regarding armor penetration) SO scratch one tiger - also scratch one hannomag sturm hunts to position to return fire - hits target which does nothing - Two hell cats rain down and one ricochets the other destroys - simoultaeneously the other hell cat an sturm exchange as the sturm hunts into position next turn hellcat destroys sturm, proving to be a bleakday in the diary of the AN SS panzer commander my point that was my first real spanking by the pc would this sight modifer have helped me? no ... I hit them - they hit me only............. I died :-P KUDOS to the AI
  12. I vote NO because.. I think BTS is making a superb effort to listen to our input and take into considration what we have to say. They seem to be going to great lenghts to ensure we have a realistic product -more so than anythin we've experienced thus far. With that in mind, I believe that the final product will not leave us feeling we need mods any time soon - and based on their posts, I feel that they will be in a position to feed our desire for bloodletting should we ever become bored - maybe they have their own expansion ideas in mind ( hopefully - as I would like to see this kind of dedication in any modifications) If this is not the case then maybe further down the line it may be somethign to discuss SSPL out
  13. well I agree with variations on the tourney setup, this was also an issue in close combat; as far as ladders and individual play go though, We found scenarios with prebought units(in cc2) were often more unbalanced than if a point system per unit was used ( ie requistioning units) - Often ones idea of a units capabilities can be misleading ( due to misinformation or just being new to this kind of material amongst other things :-P ) With this comes battles whcih may not seem to be lopsided to the creator initially but unfortuantely culminate as such. WHile these battles can still be fun to play in any kind of competitive play it is hardly a good judge of skill if the forces are not balanced. ( less of course the underdog happens to open a big can of whup-ass lol) Also being able to purchase your own units when the points are balanced fairly allows ones personal style of tactics to develop with the game, dont get me wrong I like scenarios, but I have found in head to head the ability to requisitions ones own units proves to make an exciting game. Maybe the guys at the BTS team will notice this post an could somehow work it out if they havent already THis was one of cc2's greatests assets for fair competition, and after all thats a good portion of the reaasons why we armchair generals like to play to test our hypothetical 'combat effectiveness' :-P SSPL out
  14. OIC lol u must have experienced the 6 stuarts vs the Jagdtiger in close combat lol - close comparison anyhow :-P SSPL out
  15. Thanks for responding maybe you could expand on the scenario - point issue. If for arguments sake this becomes a canidate for ladder play and/or tournaments what dictate a fair scenario if each sid eis not alloted points and the option to purchase _ im used to Battlemakers so help me if ya can thx
  16. I had to reply to this because of the reference to other games AI . As Close Combat player AI was my biggest gripe ( til they made cc3 then the list got long lol) As far as this games AI goes I feel it is top notch. I have played it several times and beaten it soundly too BUT .. I never saw the computer make any moves as of yet that I would determine as totally unrealistic nor at anytime did I feel I could make any stupid moves :-P. I do not consider myself inept on the gaming field in the ww2 arena, and did quite well competitively in close combat. I found the ai here to offer me a challenge that has kept me playing> And that is the question I pose to you BDW, if you found this so easy then why have you been compelled to play it over and over again? ( Im not trying to be is insulting in anyway ) I just think that maybe you are looking for a little too much from the Ai as Bigtime pointed out. I havent had the opportunity to play a person yet and would love the opportunity to play a good opponent - I think if you are playing it that much you must be hooked IMHO SSPL out
  17. Hi This is my first post after downloading the demo several days ago and taking my time to evaluate it. As a die hard Close Combat Player (at leaast for CC2) I have found myself comparing any wargame I come across to it - again I compare to their best effort so far CC2. CC2 held my interest for some time because of its good gameplay and reasonable attempt at accuracy. However htey fell far short on CC3 and their overall attitude to their customers was disgraceful. Although I swore I would never by another atomic product after their interview in the zone - I most likely will purchase cc4 Why ?? because this isnt done yet :-( I must commend the team at bigtime software for its efforts in many areas especially in historical perspective and accuracy, not to mention their excellent ability to listen to those that are interested in a great wargame ( Ive read alot of threads ) I do have a few questions that I hope you could address for me as I am trying to get others that I gamed with in CC2 to take alook at this (I'm sold) 1. as far as multi player goes in tcp/ip will their be an option to control game settings such as turn time limit and victory conditions? 2. Will you be able to make scenarios with points and purchase units like in cc2? 3. Ive noticed the wonderful job on the tank graphics and the trees look awesome too. Will other terrain features such as buildngs etc be brought up to this standard, as well as stuff like smoke? 4. Is there any decision to expand the views to so there are a bit more midrange settings (sorry used to cc2 kinda scale :-P ) my system specs are here in case ya wonder PIII 500 128mes pc100 sdram 17.2 gig hd wdc tnt 2 viper 770 vid card 32 megs SBLive Thanks for all you efforts and taking the time to respond when I know you are busy.
