  1. What a difference! But I've got my CMBO customized with so many different user made graphic and sound mods (including Scipio's mods) that I won't be transferring graphics from CMBB to CMBO. But it really is a nice improvement from CMBO to CMBB.
  2. Don't worry, Green Hornet. I'll finish mine. I always fight on until the bitter end! Plus I'm having a blast. I think that if someone loses interest in a game, at least surrender or call for a cease fire. [ November 01, 2002, 04:45 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  3. Hmmm! Good idea! I thought there already was a simple batch program to reverse the order of the snow bmp's. I know I downloaded it from Tom'S HQ (I think!) and have it on my PC. Every time you run it, it just reverses the order of the bmp's. But it had to be run outside of CMMOS. I also want to say that Tom's Battle Of The Bulge Mod is fantastic! Thanks for the effort, Tom! I really appreciate it! [ October 31, 2002, 03:33 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  4. Sorry, must of missed the thread from the weekend. Might as well lock this thread up. [ October 22, 2002, 03:46 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  5. It just shows you that BFC has got to be one of the best gaming companies in terms of supporting the products it creates. Kudos to them! [ October 17, 2002, 01:42 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  6. Don't shoot the messenger but unbelievably the following review says that CMBB is good but dull and hard to get into. Review [ October 17, 2002, 01:28 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  7. I play mine at 800*600 but mostly due to the fact that I only have a 15 inch monitor. My desk space at home is too small to handle a bigger monitor. But I have no problems playing at this resolution.
  8. My copy only took about ten days to reach me after ordering it so I have no complaints about Canada Post. But my heart does go out to those still waiting for it. Those poor guys in Ontario. [ October 15, 2002, 05:48 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  9. steveshaw: Put it this way, I was very impressed when in a Quick Battle, I saw T-34s and IS-2s advancing towards my German troops across the open steppe accompanied by Russian soldiers running alongside the tanks. In my opinion the graphics for CMBB ( and also CMBO) are excellent and give a very good impression of fighting conditions on the Eastern Front. My defending German troops were holding a line across the steppe with very little cover. It reminded me of the conditions faced by members of the Sixth Army who had to defend the western flank of the Kessel during Stalingrad as described in the book 'Stalingrad' by Anthony Beevor. Minus the IS-2s of course!
  10. Wow, MÃ¥kjager! Excellent job on this Jagdpanther. Thanks for the time you spent on it!
  11. Welcome AstroCat! With regards to mods, in my opinion there are no 'must have' mods. Just download the ones you think would look good in the game and try them out. That's what I did. I think many of us here have spent dozens of hours downloading and trying out mods. Actually downloading new mods is actually pretty fun in itself. I mean just seeing how the view of the battlefield changes due to these mods is pretty cool.
  12. Seeing that CMBB has Luftwaffe ground troops, I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on how good the quality of these troops were? I've read both good and bad points about them. I read that they performed well in Italy but poorly on the eastern front and that Goering only formed these divisions because of his jealousy of Himmler's SS. I admit I don't know much about these troops so does anyone have any opinions about them? [ October 09, 2002, 01:00 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  13. Excellent site! But a question, does anyone think that the crew member in the BA-20 armoured car look too big (in perspective) to the car itself? Or was the car that small? [ October 09, 2002, 12:17 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  14. Helldorado: I forgot to mention that I'm still using Windows 98. Maybe that makes a difference. Should have nothing to do with the mainboard. By the way, my CD-Rom is an Artec WRA-WA48 and it's configured as a secondary slave. And I'm also using the integrated sound from the mainboard. 15. I have a MSI GeForce4 MX420 and it runs fine. I'm using the 40.71 drivers. I have FSAA turned on and it runs CMBB perfect. If fact, whatever defaults the 40.71 drivers set up are fine on my card. I didn't have to 'fool' around with any options.
  16. Why do you think I got mine a week ago? Provincial Sales Tax is slowing it up for these other poor devils. HAHA </font>
  17. Schrullenhaft: Just to let you know that I'm running the CMBB demo with the 40.71 drivers (with Win98) with my GeForce4 MX420 card with full anti-aliasing on and it runs perfect. No problems at all. I wonder if anyone else uses the 40.71 drivers.
  18. Hmmm! First time I've seen this site. Nice models but his over-enthusiasm about the political ambitions and goals of Germany and its army is a little much to take. Granted the German army had fine soldiers but like Ulyssus S. Grant once said they were 'fighting for the worst cause one could fight for'. Or something like that.
  19. Heh, heh! Wait until our most glorious leader Ralph Klein leads Alberta to separate from Canada. Then us Albertans will get our own superior border customs agency and future CMs will arrive in record time.
  20. Javaslinger: I virtually changed every graphic and sound in my game. The graphics and sounds that came with the game were excellent to begin with and the mods created by all these great modmakers were just 'icing on the cake'. I don't think it's a question of what you need but a question of personal taste. Downloaded some mods, try them out and if you like them, keep them. If not, try others. I think everybody here has spent hours and hours downloading different mods. I personally don't use CMMOS so I cannot comment on it. [ October 02, 2002, 02:47 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  21. That was in 'Stalingrad' by Anthony Beevor. Yah, really bad luck! Speaking of Rumanians at Stalingrad, I read in Osprey Publishing's book "Germany's Eastern Front Allies" that three Rumanian generals died at Stalingrad personally leading charges at the enemy. 22. Two regions I can't remember seeing a post from is the Maritimes and Saskatchewan. Has anyone? [ September 30, 2002, 05:15 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
  23. Okay, maybe I 'whined' myself but all of us have to remember that tens of thousands of packages cross the border everyday and we just have to give Canada Customs some time to go through them. They don't open every package as I've had some packages go through without any customs tag on them or duty when there should have been. I therefore humbly apologize for my post and to Tianshu. I guess I'm just cranky at work. [ September 30, 2002, 05:14 PM: Message edited by: Wally's World ]
