  1. Hi Sten, I have GeF4 Ti-4200 64Mb and I'm using latest beta drivers 40.72 (WinXP). My FSAA settings are 4x and CMBB runs perfectly. If you set "let program decide..." I think there will be no Anti Aliasing at all.
  2. Hi, In my previous topics I was completely lost... the game wouldn't start. Intall, yes. Soon I realized that it wasn't video card or soundcard... I found out that CDROM device wasn't seen in explorer tree when I clicked .exe file. So, I bought new CDROM device (LG CDRW) and game started!! My old device was Asus CD-S400 (v.1.10) So, I think the problem was SafeDisc what my old device or it's old driver software couldn't understand. Thanks, for everyone who replied to my topics and tried to help me! [ October 09, 2002, 04:18 AM: Message edited by: Helldorado ]
  3. Wally, thanks for your reply. Yeah, that doesn't surprise me at all. i just Intalled whole WinME and necessary software to empty HD. Nothing. Same problem... could it be my mainboard? I mean intgrate audio? (I don't think so...) What about CDROM device? I have ASUS CD-S400. As a secondary master. Btw. CMBB Demo works perfectly 40.72 drivers w/ FSAA on.
  4. Hi all, In my previous topics I got errors messages but that just typical bug of Wise Installer (CDV). Game can still operate perfectly. I have downloaded from Gainward support recommend drivers and BIOS. - WinME - MS K7T Turbo 2 Moteherboard (integrated audio disabled) - BIOS version: 04.17.00.52.00 (Gainward recommends) - Directx 8.1b - nvidia 30.82 (tried with diffrent resolution and FSAA settings) - AMD Athlon 1600+ Has anyone got MX 420 working? i haven't with older drivers all possible settings but I will also with 40.71 for any help... thanks in advance
  5. Okay, Now I have targeted the problem it's Gainward GeForce4 MX 420 Drivers. Or BIOS drivers. The Wise installer what cauuses that above weird error message is common. My friend has same problem but game works, he has Radeon 3D card. I'll put a new topic 'cause this is confusing.
  6. Hi, Those spaces between .exe was my typo, sorry about that. If I click directly .exe file it just sipmly freezes only showing on picture of Combat Mission 2.
  7. I just checked with my friens settings after install (w2k, radeon): Directory of C:\Program Files\Combat Mission 2 05.10.2002 22:28 <DIR> . 05.10.2002 22:28 <DIR> .. 23.07.2002 12:43 battlefront.url 04.10.2002 18:05 <DIR> bmp 23.09.2001 21:05 cdv.ico 29.09.2000 12:52 cdv.url 04.10.2002 18:35 Combat Mission BB Prefs 09.08.2002 05:49 CombatMission2.exe 04.10.2002 18:08 INSTALL.LOG 05.09.2002 13:03 Manual.pdf 04.10.2002 18:07 <DIR> OpenPlay Modules 30.11.2000 06:09 OpenPlay.dll 04.10.2002 18:11 <DIR> PBEM 04.10.2002 18:11 <DIR> Quick Battle Maps 07.08.2002 10:06 ReadMe.txt 04.10.2002 18:35 <DIR> Saved Games 04.10.2002 18:07 <DIR> Scenarios 28.09.2001 17:00 UNWISE.EXE 04.10.2002 18:07 <DIR> wav Realizing that I'm missing folders! PBEM, Quick Battle Maps. And Combat Mission Prefs.?? This is sad and odd...
  8. Yes, game installs (according to the install software) just fine. I have only explorer and Systray running in the background. There isn't any SafeDisc in cdrom... 9. Hi Schrullenhaft, and thanks your advices here in tech support. I've been reading your advices quite alot when I bought my CMBB. You should read my another Topic there is more detailed info of my problem. I have done many times like you said but so far no success. I think my last hope is to format whole HD and then re-install everything again. And perhaps using that On-Board Audio...
  10. Okay I hope You have patience to read this throu, I have tried everything (to my understanding). - re-installed drivers for GeF4 MX 420 (NVidia 30.82) - tried different FSAA settings - updated SB Live! drivers - installed newest directx (8.1b) - tried different resolution - checked the registry (regedit) - i even got another CMBB from the shop! I have Win ME (finnish language setting), AMD Athlon 1600+, MS K7T Turbo2 motherboard (integrated soundcard) I have long time go disabled that integrated soundcard. I have tried diffrent IRQ settings by unplugging the devices... Let me explain what happens. There is 2 different things actually: 1. Clicking shortcut or .exe file starup picture is shown. That's it. It freezes there. Task Manager shows 2 new apps running (no reply) "Combat Mission 2" and "~f1d055"? 2. Sometimes clicking the shortcut activates Wise Installation software on a cdrom. Intallation window pop up ans says I already have Combat Mission 2 installed and gives to buttons: "Re-Install" and "Play". Clicking the play-button pops up 2 error messages, first one in finnish let see if I can translate it right: "Windows cannot find c:\games\combat~1\xxxxx. Targets name is probably written incorrectly in Execute-window or another active application cannot find the system file. You can try to fing the file clicking by Start and then Search." Whhen click OK the second error appears(in enlish): "Could not execute external program c:\games\combat~1\xxxxx." Afterwards I Quit those programs but Explorer tree locks up and CDROM doesn't show up, but this is sometimes solved just pressing eject-button. (?) thanks in advance for any help!
  11. Well, I have allready done that. THanks anyway but it didn't help. I know this is only matter of configuration, but where!? It still the same game doesn't even start only start up picture is shown (painting where german are attacking in the snow supported by StugIIIb, russians hiding in the building). I can hear weird distant sound from my headphones but it's nonsense...could it be conflict to CMBO files? What about IRQs? My SB Live sound uses same IRQ (11) number as network adapter. I have installed new drivers for GeF MX 420 (40.71) and for SB Live. Can someone tell me what happen during startup? Is there classic Combat Mission sounds? Animation?
  12. Hi, First, I thuoght this was bad CD image problem. I changed the product here in Finland but problem still exixts... so I thought someone might help me. Prob: If I click shortcut on the desktop the flash screen (the picture) open and game freezes there. But sometimes there is more: UNWISE application starts (when you click the icon or put CD in) and 2 button window appear: Re-install and Play. When i click "play" error message appears saying that "Cannot open C:/games/combat~1/xxxx. Program cannot locate or cannot execute external program. Try search..." Something like that. I installed with default name: "Combat Mission 2" or "CMBB" I have Win ME and GeForce4 MX420 and cdrom drive is Asus CD-S400.
  13. Aaaaahhhh...! I got it! Fresh from PlayerOnes shelves! I've been waiting this... Battlefront.com I salute you. You know who are.
  14. Hi Warmongers, I just checked from PlayerOne and they said that it wil be stores at 1400!! I hope that's true. they also said it will sold today only in PlayerOne 2 sad things: my beloved nickname "ranger" is MIA I assume the worst and it's probably KIA (at a age of 4). Another one is that I had to work for 4 hour to get game!
