Just my 2 cents worth. As an avid tribes player. The trick to having a lot of fun and getting a team game to run right... you need the "team". Thats the whole point of joining a tribe,clan,ect... Also helps if you find some good servers adults play on. If you get a steady group of guys, play at about the same time, the team games are great! If the other side is a bunch of frag happy kids.. Great! just easier to kill that way.

P.S. and always choose a woman skin, the are usually more agile and make smaller targets

Ok, don't flame me here... But before I chime in one way or another.. I'd like a little more info. How exactly are you guys losing your units? Does it happen in certain areas? mountains,woods, guys are real spread out? Just wondering.

I must be the only one playing against uberschrecks. It seems If I am even in the same country with one my tanks blow up. usually on first shot too. In one PBEM (CE) got hit by 3 shots from schrecks. One shot, one hit. all of them over 200 meters.

Also for new members here worried about mods and combatability. Sound and Texture Mods are Local. They only effect the way you see and here the game.

umm.. wondering out load here. But Did I read somewhere on here that a brewed tank caused more of a moral hit than just an abandoned one? Maybe due to the fact of your guys looking over and seeing thier armor smoking like an old hippie at a floyd concert?

Hello Petar.
I have the same basic system as you. I had blocky smoke until I downloaded the new drivers. I installed directx 7 and the driver for the voodoo card. I have no idea what driver you installed. The latest WHQL driver for the voodoo3 3000 I can find is 1.04.00 from 1-27-2000.
Anyway. installing those fixed all my problems.

As for your questions.. Yes my wife is a wonderful person who puts up with my addiction (most of the time)
I think she puts up with it for the sole reason that she knows what my "hobbies" were like before we met.
As for my "vacation". I learned 3 very important things.
1) seat belts really work!! (without them I'm sure I would have missed the Gold)
2) Chest tubes hurt like hell!! avoid these at all cost.
3) I really, really need a laptop. Or at least to get into accidents close to home.

Hello.
My name is Sara. My Husband Lorak (Larry) was in an accident on his way to work this afternoon. He is ok, but they say it will be several days to a week before he can come home. He ask me to post a message for people he is pbeming. (hope thats right.)
He says he is sorry for delay and hopes you guys will wait for him. If not he says he understands, as most games are just being started.
I tried following his instructions. If this is posted in the wrong place I am sorry. If it is would someone be kind enough to place it where it should go?
I guess this is one way to get his undivided attention for awhile.

I have one question requarding e-mail.
When I finish my turn, I get to the box that has your e-mail name and an ok button.
Are you suppose to be able to re-name your file there? before you save it?
Mine defaults to the name of the file you loaded (makes sense). But saves the file as the same name. I can't change it.
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this.
Other than that the Game runs perfect! I am truly amazed!

Someone else mentioned this too. If your hitting escape to open the game back up, don't. Just click on the minimized button on the tool bar.

also Jim if you delete your CM prefs file. and then close and restart the game. The window where you chose your video (the click if you see this window) I believe will cycle between the cards it sees and the resolutions avalible. If you clicked on the first one that came up the first time. You might want to try a diffrent one.

I think a lot of the problem is people trying to group the two games together. I haven't downloaded SP:W@W (56k modem, hoping for cd release in a game mag). But I have played it against a friend here who dl'd it. I found it a fun and interesting game.
I think Bill and Matrix did a fine job. There is room for both on my HD and in my play time.

A little more info would be helpful Jim. I had a smoke problem (showing the tiles the graphic was on) but a driver update fixed it right up. Also make sure you install your new video drivers *AFTER* you install directx.
And what problem are you having? exactly ?

Speaking of FOG.
I remember a section on CMHQ where a friendly was fired upon because of a lack of recognition.(In Fog/night).
Since you are now playing a game with visibility that low, how much of a problem is that? Or does it happen to units outside of C&C more often?

well.. I waited and heard some of the details. And I still can't comment on this. No offense to anyone present. But how can you lose your guys? When I set up a battle plan I know what I'm sending over the hill. Same as who is on my flanks. If you divide your troops up into assualt groups, it is easy to remember what it is composed of. If you the add the fact that everyone should be in C&C then each group doesn't take up a large area either. I know I'm rambling, so I'll leave it at that. I guess I'm just at a lose as to what the problem is.
