  1. You've got to hate that dreaded friendly edge. Had an FO(105) in VoT that got targeted. Eventualy panic set in and then they broke. One guy went down and they other kept running behind the hill out of LOS.

    I was yelling "thank god he made it!!" which quickly turned into "damnit stop! damnit stop!" as he went awol on his way home. Lost him after only firing 2 shells...

    You know whats funny about CM though? I actualy feel for the guy and was glad that he made it. Even if he did retreat off the field.

    rambling again.

  2. Killmore I see no problem with preordering CM2 based on the assumption that it will be developed. The problem lies with BTS and their great way of doing business. My belief is they wouldn't charge the card until CM2 is ready to ship, same as they have done with CM. So the problem is in ordering to eairly and having billing information change, not preordering and the game not comming out.

    The engine is in place. CM2 with the same exact engine would please most everyone here. The time is going to be Texture work on the russian units,landscape, and added vehicles.

    just my .02

    P.S. if you can preorder...just point the way.

  3. just a thought. most likely wrong.

    Since command lines in the field are they to symbolise the ability to communicate with the HQ (with hand and or voice signals).

    Could the CM assume that a unit on a vehicle has use of the vehicles radio to recieve orders from thier HQ and those not go out of communication range?

  4. actualy... It makes me jelious!! All of them Beta testers playing with the final. (job well done guys). But What I really want to do... Is take a stick and give them a short, sharp shot, so they will never do it again dig it? I mean maybe take out a knee or something. Would make me feel better, and may even open up some beta spots for CM2.

    So many years from now lying in your beds. would you trade from this moment forward for just on chance! Just one chance to strike a blow for us, the unfortuante huddled masses, yearning for CM and to be free!!!

    way too much coffee.

  5. Barbarossa,

    With all due respect this was covered before. Almost everyone on this board. Hell, Almost everyone worldwide hates an on-line manuel. Just a Cheep way for a company to save some bucks. I could not stand: A)to sit down and read 170+ pages on-line. And B) It would take forever for most people to print out 170+ pages on a home printer.

    I hate getting a small online manuel. most game manuels only run 30-40 pages top. 170+ is like a novel.

  6. It is my understanding that the .bmp files have already been reserved for the winter camo. If you have the Winter-camo textures, they will be loaded in you are playing a winter scenario. If you don't have them, you will just get the default textures.

    My speech is returning.

  7. Lewis,

    I just don't understand you. Why is it that you have to take every oppertunity avalible to insult or ridicule someone? I could understand if Fionn had came here and said something. But just to post a hateful comment because his name is mentioned? If you really have such a low self esteam that you have to pump yourself up on the net, I really am sorry for you. Let me see If I can make you feel better.

    ** attention everyone **

    Lewis is great! he is the armor knowledge god! How did I ever think I could enjoy a "game" without is clever insights and vast military knowledge.

    There hope that mad you feel better. I'll even let you print that and show it to all your friends at home(if you have any). I'm sure you have been telling them how great you are and how much we are all benifiting from your post. So you can show that to them to prove it.

    Hopefully that has satisfied your requirements.

    Now go away.

  8. Yes Tom thats true, Full FOW is the only way to play. I assumed that as a given also. I still don't think that they see all the units you see. example)

    -> movement

    x=enemy unit

    O friendly

    the square is woods.

    .........:---------------:

    .........:---------------:

    (O1)->:-----------(X)-: <---(O2)

    .........:---------------:

    .........:---------------:

    Your unit O1 is moving into the woods towards X. O2 has LOS of the enemy so you can see him. So you move O1 into the woods to assault X because you know he is there. Your O1 unit could still be hit hard and first if the enemy is hiding. They can't see X and are just moving towards his direction until contact is made.

    Thats how I see it. If I'm wrong I'd like to know. Anyone have any info on this?

    sorry if my picture is bad. I didn't have a screen shot to use.

    P.S. sorry this thing doesn't see spaces.

  9. ok, I could be wrong on that one. But,If thats the case then why does your armor units have to use the hunt command? They should already know where the enemy is. Why when creasting a hill do they have to "spot" an enemy unit and then transverse the turret to fire at them? He should already be pointing at them when he creast the hill.

    It was my understanding that if a unit is hidden or out of LOS of your unit, then your unit cannot see them, even if you can. Thats why it is good to make your enemy's armor button up. also the only way to close assault enemy armor and have any chance of success.

    Thats just my take on things. If anyone else has more info I'd love to hear it.
