  1. well... Maybe I can help you out.

I've finally got my website back on track (except for some tweaking that needs doing).

I know there are several sites offering scenario depots, Just thought I'd throw my hat in the ring also.

If you have some scenarios that you would like posted for download, just drop me an e-mail.

    It should include:

    Name of scenario.

    Countries involved.

    Number of turns.

    Brief Description and weather conditions.

A screenshot of the map (high angle).

Thats it. If I can be of service just let me know.

  2. Thats good to hear Matt. Your Chat server is a lot better than yahoo chat. You can not beat IRC chat in terms of speed.

It doesn't matter to me if the yahoo club stays or goes. It is no work for me either way.

I just wanted to give people here warning and let anyone who wants it to stay up a chance to let me know.

  3. I posted this last week and recieved no replies (that should answer my question.)

Traffic has dried up at the club and as far as I can tell no one is using the chat room anymore.

So I'll throw this out one more time.

Should I disband the club? Or if there are those that are still using it, I'll be happy to leave it up.

    Just asking.

  5. Pillar,

It really won't be any diffrent than what we have now. let me explain. While The big picture shows no contest. At Cm's scale there will be alot of battles that were really hard fought. A lot of the Polish and french units fought well... it just gets over shadowed.

  6. good idea!

Maybe BTS could start a "widows of wargamers" forum.

ahh the post that would bring...

" Mary, goto the CM forum. My husband (insert nick) has posted 15 times in the last hour!! I know! I've been watching. 15 times! has he even bothered calling home and seeing how my day was? or how the kids are doing? Hell no! I say we take them all out back some where and .............."

  7. idea... and please don't laugh to hard.

    ** please note**

I agree with BTS and think the system thats in place is fine.

My idea is this. In the future(who knows when) would it be possible to code an abandoned or imobilized AFV as it had a small smoke shell on it? Not the large knocked out plume, but the small white ones.

If you could code it so that the LOS values of a small smoke shell is placed on the AFV, but without the graphic, it seems that would be perfect. you have a small LOS blockage, but not the size of an entire AFV.

Of course I'm not a programer and this could be impossible for 1000's of reasons, but I thought I'd toss it out there.

  8. Greetings.

I started the Combat mission club to have a place to have live chats about the game.

Since Matt's chat site has taken off, (I like IRC better too), and Traffic at the club had dried up to almost nothing...

I was considering disbanding the club site.

    Before I do this.

I was wondering if anyone is still using the site. Or if there were any objections.

    Thanks for your time.

  9. Foobar, I agree with your "50 yard line" observation. Nice thing is that scenario designers decide where troops can be placed. hopefully there will be some setup surprises in some scenarios comming out soon.

edge-hugging.... difficult to explain. It has been discussed in depth before. It boils down to this. If you are edge-hugging for cover or for a flanking move, fine. If it is just so you can sneck some units by, I find that is gamey, most of the time...

It is hard to describe gamey edge-hugging, but you know it if you see it.
