It is possible that your tank size is set to +3 not realistic. -

Acid Rain from Detroid, NY area is causing thousands of Mapple trees to die in Canada. I am not even going to mention Great Lakes pollution. -

Let remember the heads of the Russians sent to russian medias by Chechens. Yes during the Yeltsin. Both sides do their share. How come you don't get that? LOCK THIS UP PLEASE [This message has been edited by killmore (edited 08-16-2000).] -
Lighting a candle for the "Kursk"
killmore replied to Grognerd_Fogman's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)

quote:
Originally posted by Mr. Johnson-<THC>-: How is the media coverage of the Chechny war in other countries. I love the net cuz I can learn about this myself.

Boy are you misinformed! Why don't you start reading the other side reports too! The propaganda has you for a fool (and tool). If you want to support them why not Basks, Corsicans, IRA, Quebecers, Columbians, "Shining Path" or some other group? What is the difference? Afgans invented lots of new reasons to fight when Soviets left... If there would be no oil in chechnia there would be no war. This is another oil war fueled by Mafia who want to sell weapons and regional leaders who promise millions to each and every one of their future subjects. All in the name of power. Why don't you support for example serbs who are getting exterminated in Kosovo now? That subject is not popular in the media either. No I am not supporting serbs, I just want to say there is no big difference. Even in the 80's serbs have been systematically abused in kosovo. (Been there, seen that)Then they snapped (thanks to leaders who needed to secure their "popularity") and decided to eliminate Kosovians. Great: more genocide but now the other side is receiving. Years of hate (thanks to religious differences) make both side willing to commit attrocities/crimes. Here is a good deed for you: Why don't you eliminate bullies from schools so that kids abused by them don't come back to kill them (and others). Suggestion for BTS re: CM2 work
killmore replied to Jeff Heidman's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I proposed that a while ago. People were arguing against it. I expect since BTS made lots of cash that they will be even more closed up -

One again: ASSUALT Target! is needed. I hate when my opponent moves his tank 20 meters and escapes all infantry assualts this way [This message has been edited by killmore (edited 08-15-2000).] -
How to have a tought game against AI
killmore replied to killmore's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Well hellcats do work well. The problem is that they are useless against infantry. Also nothing else really works against JT. There is one british tank that might be possible but M-36 Jacksons seem just to slow. -

1) TCP/IP 2) "Small map size" should not depend on number of points I am playing on. (just see how small is the map when you select 2000 points) 3) Operations - the line of control is badly done. I am sorry to say this but CC has it much better done! I can sneak small unit around to gain HUGE teritory! 4) ASSAULT command for infantry. If tank moves 10 meters infantry should be able to chase it and assault it. (My opponent moves tanks just a bit every round to stop my infantry charges) 5) Fix Rotate AA 88 bug. Sounds good - so the trick is to keep them moving. Didn't you had to stop to fire the gun? Do hellcats have gyrostabilizers? -
Roster War, ceasefire

quote:
Originally posted by Fionn: And as for your comments about the reviews etc... Don't fall into the trap of making definite statements based on opinion. E.g. We both know that, logically and experientially you can't offer any proof as to the 90% reference. Not having a roster in CM2 won't hurt CM2 any more than it hurt CM1 ( unless the scale of the average battle increases hugely). Those are the real facts.

I think you just fell into your own trap here. You made a statement based on your opinion here: (I think but I am not sure you called your opinion fact)
quote:
Originally posted by Fionn: Not having a roster in CM2 won't hurt CM2 any more than it hurt CM1 ( unless the scale of the average battle increases hugely).
quote:
Originally posted by Germanboy: Wow, you can see the future!! I was all wrong, not Ethan, yo da man!!!!! Kidding, honestly!!!!!!!

My point is that they are willing to overlook it right now because CM is so ground breaking. But IMHO they will substract points from their review for CM2 if certain things are not improved to their liking. -
Roster War, ceasefire
killmore replied to Pascal DI FOLCO's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
OK Fionn: I guess I would not mind continuous time. By the way I cannot give orders continuosly in CM version of realTime. I am also a programmer and I did not write that roster would be easy to add. Why? Because I don't know! CM already has "Windows" for unit description so there is a precedent for "window" on the screen. Other than that I might be time consuming to do roster BUT without it CM2 will not get 90% in reviews! Actually I see a lot of things that reviewers will not look upon kindly in CM2. -

quote:
Originally posted by Jarmo: First thing that comes to mind: Buy about 10 AT minefields. Second thing that comes to mind: Hellcats, use cover and race around them like there's no tomorrow.

I tried minefields. The problem is that these are quite expensive and in "Armor" battles you can buy very few of them. Most of the time no tank gets disabled by them. Hellcats might be OK - but they are relatively useless against infantry. Racing them does not work to well for me. Aren't Hellcats penetration values too low any way? -

Here is the set up: May 1945, 1250 Points, German AI, AI Attacking. For AI buy 8 or more JagdTigers. And some infantry. (or 6 jagdT and some panters) You can get whatever you feel like even Pershings. The only time I managed to win was when battle was at night in the fog. I managed to rush my M-36s behind JagdTigers and killed them. Once I was left wilt just 1 M-36 (my pershings died...) and it killed 3 JagdT before it died too... If you have some suggestions how to defeat AI let me know. (Rushing units behind JagdTs does not work well against human)

Special Challenges for CM2
killmore replied to Alexander's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
In Stalingrad Soviets had numerical disadvantage until the counter attack. Since october 1941 to december 1941 Germans had numerical advantage. As I said before there is no reason to make Soviet troops worse then german troops. Just make Soviet troops semi-fanatical conscripts and German troops Regular. -
