  1. Iron, Yes...players can create Operations. I've done a couple a long time ago. Wouldn't mind doing a couple more, now that I've played so much, maybe I've learned something on designing them
  2. Combined Arms and me, only have about 3 more turns, and we're finished....that'll be the last one for me.
  3. About the same here with Combined Arms...we're plugging away, a bit at a time.
  4. I've been running Win2k Pro for about 3 months now...with the recent drivers that MadMatt mentioned, my video problems have cleared up. Never did have any problems running the game. Nor, surprisenly, even some older games.
  5. President Moon Tell us what your policies are Congratulations.
  6. No Dogface21 in Section 4. It's just him and Mr. Johnson that I have left.
  7. My last file from Dogface21 was the 10th...did one of you guys scare him off
  8. Roger on not surrendering...but you gotta understand how miserable those two youngsters were making things for this old man
  9. Another Section 4 player who hasn't heard from Shadow...I too feel we need to find someone else, and soon, to insure we really will have enough time to give our replacement. For me : Everyone else in Section 4 is doing great with turns...I almost always have a turn waiting from each of them when I get home from work. Scheer : You really don't believe I've a battleship coming up that river ???? Man, are you in for a surprise [ 12-06-2001: Message edited by: Strider ]</p>
  10. Ok...I've got all my games going with my opponents in Section 4. A note : As much as I'd prefer not to, I gotta go to work each weekday so I process my turns in the evenings when I get home. Roughly 5pm to 9pm PST (-8 GMT). I normally am able to process multiple turns on the weekends...if one of the grandkids doesn't take my computer away from me, or "force" me to take them to the park for a couple of hours
  11. Re gamey : #2 : IMO, this would depend on the map/terrain/weather and the units you have to work with. I've found that the terrain dictates "where" your units move in most every game I've played. Maybe there's something about this item that I'm misinterpeting ?
  12. FYI Section 4 players : I can start at anytime, and play all five at once. I can (normally) return at least 1 turn per weekday evening, and multiple ones on Sat & Sun. I'm Pacific Standard Time (-8 GMT). Looking forward to playing people I've not yet played. I'm good natured about my games, however they're going
  13. I'll take a slot, if it's available. Strider@bak.rr.com
  14. If you're runing Win2k, have the latest nVida drivers, and DirectX8...your problem may be the same one I had. The latest drivers are not working in this environment. I had to backup to a previous vidod driver version to get 3D to work...still can't get the 3rd DirectX test concerning AGP to work...it's greyed out for me. Also, a couple of us ran tests on machines where I work...one machine had the same problem as mine, another worked just fine...both of those machines were Win2k Server. The one that worked ok, had a Vanta 4meg card (Intel 400 CPU), the other had a Vanta 8meg card (Intel 700 CPU)...mine is eVGA 32 meg card (AMD 800 CPU). All running the nVida drivers.
  15. Did your Ghost image include your vid drivers and CM ? If so, I'd try uninstalling the vid drivers, and reinstalling first. Then/and uninstall CM and reinstall, if you haven't already Let us know if you get your problem resolved, and what you did.
  16. Not ME...way too many people have done clean installs to get back to SE. SE is the most stable of the 9x series. You should be just fine with it.
  17. Let's start with two things... 1. Defrag, if you haven't yet...and be sure to check how much space you have left on your hard drive. 2. Ctrl Alt Delete (once), and write down what processes are running, and post them here.
  18. Just in case you missed the post in the other location : just move them close, let them sit for a turn or so, without being fired upon...
  19. Just move them close and let them sit a turn or so, without being fired upon...that should do it. [ 07-31-2001: Message edited by: Strider ]
  20. There was point in time (looks to be around Nov '99) when there was a problem with the board, and anyone who attempted to post during this (?)2 day period, got their profile corrupted. BTS did what they could to recover them, but were successful only to a limited extent. My 'date' says 5/16/99 which is correct...I didn't attempt to post during this period Not sure if this also had anything to do with the numbering system...could be Well, Wadepm just shot holes in that theory...he's a month older than I am, but his number is bigger. 21. By chance, have you changed/tried a different phone cord? The shorter the better... You say you are connected to your ISP...can you ping your ISP, or past it? Just "seems" weird that you can get "to" your ISP, but not past it...unless it really is at their end, and they are "limiting" some connections. I was using WinME with a phone connection before the boss let me get cable and I didn't expirence any problems. Was using an external 56k USrobotics modem. In fact, I just installed it for one of the kids at their house, and it's working just fine, with WinME as the OS.
  22. I've used it for CM and others..been using it for more than a year (off and on)...takes some adjustments to make it clear...such things as not having your mic cord laying across any power cords, and getting your mouth the 'right' distance from the mike It works ok, once you get used to it.
