    Anyway, thanks for the mod.

    u mean the M203 or the GP30?

i think i replaced the GP30 sound at least...

the mod is under CMSF scenarios since we cant upload under CMSF mods yet...

aaaaaanyway... thats just what a short search found... but as you see none of them have very bright colours (althoug some have very contrasting colours).... so tone down the colours a bit and im sure its gonna look splendid

oh and as a stickler for wear and tear on military vehicles in military games i urge you to try your hand at "wearing and tearing" on some of these tanks hehe... especially the older ones like the T-54/55 and T-62

  3. so... anyone ever thought about making a "we were soldiers" campaign?

    same map, several battles...

surrounded american infantry with no armor or vehicle support for either side...

    could be a good battle...

(didnt much like the film tho... but it just hit me when i was flicking through the channels and noticed that it was on)

  4. something i miss when playing this game is what the 'good old' swedish combat manuals say about house-to-house fighting... namely that you should enter buildings through unconventional means (ie. breaching either walls or roofs) and that you should always toss a grenade into the room before clearing it (in combat conditions of course... not when civvies are around)

now... in the game this is somewhat represented by the fact that you can breach walls with engineers... but they have far too few breaching charges and they do far too much damage for the tactics ive been taught (albeit somewhat outdated tactics)... they should just breach a smaller hole the size of a door to enter... not blow the whole fasade of the side theire on...

and as for 'nading the room before entering... that just never ever ever happens in the game...

wich is too bad... instead my troops just run into the house and nicely find their spots before returning fire on the enemy squad thats in the house firing at them (of course, you wont notice that until half your squad is in the house and dead anyway)

Great A-10 videos, the best combat video quality I've ever seen! Looks like our English friends got a real up close look at what an A-10 does on an attack run. smile.gif Glad everyone was ok. smile.gif

Here's a video of some stupid terrorists coming back to get an RPG to fire at one of our Bradley's after the Bradley crew has already fired on them just seconds before in the exact same alley. Even by pathetic terrorist standards, these guys are retarded. haha smile.gif

  6. one downside to letting more than just the bmp's and wav's be modded can be easily demonstrated by OP Flashpoint...

there were tons of mods for that game... but almost everyone had their own idea of how to model armor and weapons so you wound up with light tanks that were nigh indestructable and heavy tanks wich could be destroyed using a rifle...

it even went so far that the modding community itself tried to regulate it by introducing a couple of "standardized" armor and damage rules... but that never seemed to catch on...

so if they allowed complete modding for CM what we would end up with is something similar... everyone has an oppinion on how strong a particular tank or weapon is... no matter how groggy they are... just look at all the cries for making the tiger stronger in the old CM games... despite it being modeled on factual numbers...

sorry... but if you want to keep CM "realistic" (wich is kinda what its known for right?) you just cannot allow modding beyond textures and sounds...

ps. i love mods and modding... usually takes me 10 minutes after buying a new game before i rip it apart to see what can be changed, but for CM i have a completely different oppinion...

  7. hmmm... i might just include silent music in my soundmod since there seems to be a demand for it...

if i release the mod that is hehe... otherwise i could just put out 3 silent .wav files for anyone who doesnt know how to make them...

off to find some nice music to replace the default one with...

paint it black maby? might be too much of a 'nam feeling to it, but it does represent war for me...

  8. well the russians were pretty good at taking out enemy tank formations during WWII... but they did that by funneling the enemy into a tight area and then hitting that spot with all the arty they had... even the light stuff (since that could well damage optics and such on even the heaviest tanks)...

combined with at-guns of varying sizes this was very very effective...

would be kinda fun trying this out in the game...

it would have to be massive ammounts of arty tho... but that wasnt really a problem for the russians hehe...

but in modern days i think the arty is too pinpoint to be effective (sounds wierd but ill explain)

since you only have like 1 or 2 tubes (cannons) they cant really saturate an area as much as arty of old did... however its much more readily available... and accurate (although not accurate enough for anti-tank purposes)

i know sweden (and therefore probarbly other countries) have developed laser guided artillery specifically designed to take out tanks and such but its not represented in the game... probarbly because its not represented on the battlefield... possibly deemed too expensive.

  9. what i do is give them a "shift" cover arc... that usually works... basically what you do is use the cover arc command and press shift... that way you get a 360 degree cover arc wich can be really small... try that... it seems they keep that even when moving since its not a directional arc so they dont have to wait for the entire unit to be there...
