ive actually had quite alot of instances where a hunt order has been converted to a slow order upon enemy contact (instead of the troops stopping and returning fire)
and its not a case of looking for cover, ive had instances where ive ordered a troop to hunt down a street and when they see an enemy at the end of the street they just start crawling towards the enemy instead of stopping and returning fire or indeed seeking cover in the nearby houses...

well it would have to be a completely new kind of blast command (albeit with the same button graphics) since the tank isnt expected to charge into the breech once its done (well not always)

first thing i expected to see when i went on the forums again was a ton of black hawk down scenarios...
but now that i noticed that there isnt a single one, i kinda wish there was :eek:

well tanks dont usually drive through buildings, but sure, low walls could be traversed in an emergency..
believe it or not even modern tanks get de-tracked very easily by behaviour like this (and to drive through high walls or buildings you'd have to rotate the barrel to the rear wich isnt very good tactics so that wont be done... ever basically)
a friend of mine served as a driver in the swedish military and he was not happy every time they had to drive through a forest since he had thrown a track there more than once by just driving over old cobbled walls (theres alot of them strewn about in this area)

yeah... i had my buddy over (BIG fan of playing hotseat with me on CMx1) and the first thing he said when we played hotseat was
"hopefully all these things (he had pointed out some bugs in general) will be fixed in patches, but im a bit dissapointed in this game, after all these used to be the -its done when its done- guys who wouldnt release a product until it was 100% bug free"
and i feel inclined to agree with him... on CMx1 most of the bug fixes were just not bugs in the gamer sense of the word... it was more improvements or very small discrepherances in armor values and the like...
oh and one thing id like added for WWII is the ability go get an information box about the unit youve marked (we had this in all the other CM games, where you could see detailed info on the armor and weapons of a unit... i sure miss that since i dont know squat about what the differances between the abrams tank versions are)

just a little thing... whats the use of splitting your squad into an assault team if that team then cannot use the assault move?
oh and whats the rational about only letting squads use the assault move?
as far as i can tell its just a standard bounding overwatch move and any unit with at least 2 members should be able to do it...

hmm... i got this bug recently (playing 1.04) but only after a battle when looking at the map... all the enemy units that were dead looked like that...

its probarbly cos theyre busy with the patch... its a very small company and thats why they cant answer very fast...

i had a similar problem, but i just left it on the loadingscreen (there was something on telly that i wanted to watch anyway) and when i cambe back it had loaded... maby it just needs some time?

no offence, but you guys should really update the video section with some new videos and put them on youtube.
alot of the comments on youtube are negative and thats only because the game is beta (like they complain that the gun stabilisation isnt active in the tank video even tho it sais its not finished in the description)
you guys did a good job, so why not show it off??

heh... i have the exact opposite problem... my armor usually outlasts my groundpounders... unless of course all of my footsies are pinned down and i get reckless with the tincans...

hehe... speaking of not moving, one of my syrian special forces hq's were severely hampered by the fact that one of their guys wouldnt leave the GAZ they had been traveling in... it wasnt that he wouldnt disembark... it was the fact that he disembarked inside it... so he was just standing on the back seat and couldnt move hehehe...
(lucky tho, since he was the only one that didnt die in my failed assault later)

ive seen plenty of pictures of soldiers using makeshift bases to put the tripod on (like tables or boxes) to make it possible to shoot out of a window (as do sniper by the way)
so why not let MMG's and HMG's deploy in houses and just assume they rigged something to put the tripod on?

preferably red campaigns... id like to play a campaign with the "baddies" actually... always been more facinated by russian equipment anyway (but town assaults will be hell since apparantly the syrians STILL havent invented explosive charges in 2008)

yaaaay, soundmods here i come!
(of course ill have to get hold of the game without paying somehow since it wont work on my computer and im bloody well not gonna pay for a game just so i can mod it for other peoples pleasure but still... yaaaay!)

oh man... and i was hoping for the same kind of modability as in CMx1 (wich was perfect IMHO... you could change the sounds and textures, but all else was fixed)

just thought id say that youre welcome to use my old soundmods for combat mission in any way you want...
my computer is currently shot and i dont have a job so i cant buy a new one... so no TOW for me for a while...
otherwise i probarbly would have made a soundmod post haste...

some of the captions are interesting... "american soldier holding captured mauserpistol model P38" when in fact he is holding neither... its a MP40 sub machinegun...
i also liked the one called "allied campaign in WWII" (or something like that) depicting two captured german AFV's... one 8-rad and one panzer III... both with big bright shiny stars on them...

i have a few nasty ones in my FatherOfNone soundmod... they were in my CMBB soundmod too so they might be the ones youre thinking of...

hehehe... i suppose it wouldnt be too hard for someone who has all of his mods to upload a pack to cmmods... but then again, why bother uploading such a huuuuuge file when all those files are already there?

yeah it will help alot... thanx... wont do much modding today tho... got a nasty headache... not the best thing to have when youre modding sounds...
just looking through it i found some misses... like 00002100-00002103 noted as mg34/42 but its really a tommy... and some stuff like that...

well im modding most of the small arms sounds again, but ive lost my soundmap and that means i have to check them all in-game again... and im finding some nasty surprises...
like the fact that the bren gun shares its sound with some vehicle mounted .30cal machineguns... wich is kinda annoying... but ill keep working on it...

semi-automatic carbine??? what are you smoking? the M4 is fully automatic
and it all depends on the circumstances anyway... if that little 2-3 man team meets a full squad, then yes, their little enfilade wont be enough to keep the enemy down... but if the enemy is a single sniper or maby a 2 man rpg team, then it certainly is...
besides, there is no logic as to why my 6 man HQ unit cannot assault whilst my 6 man engineer squad can... both units were armed with only M4 carbines. tell me where the logic in that is? cos i just cant see it...
