Volunteered?  I'm inclined to think UKR simply paid some poor bastard to haul a load of cargo in his truck.  Would the GRU have any scruples paying a russian driver to do that?

All very true. Worth to note that perception matters here. Fact of waging conventional war is viewed differently in big Western nations, smaller Central European (or Eastern European ones) and in turn very differently in Russia. First see it chiefly as a tool or different - often uncofmortable- kind of business; second consider it mortal danger for their very existence (so almost every conflict is existential by nature); while Russians mainly see it as extension of their greatness, and largely don't care if it is not touching them too much in private lives.
Living memory of Great Patriotic War and "we will overcome" mentallity also plays unfortunatelly significant part of muscovite psyche, so western standards cannot be freely applied here. They don't care about war as long as they can afford to go on vacations somewhere once a year (I am not even kidding: right to leasure time, inheritaed after USSR, is considered almost sacred in this society, and hitting it by sanctions would probably break them faster than targeting military complex).
Yup, but video should be viewed here as educational nitpick from "true young heroes" toward "ungrateful pacifistic hipster traitors in large metropolis"; that's why Pegov put it on his channel. Muscovites and especially Peterburgians are naturally considered most savvy and "worldly" populations in this country, so mental tension between them and country folks is quite constant element already for many generations. Previous rulers also often skillfully played on these notions when it suit them.
Also remember folks- constant complaining, blaming others and even quarelling among individuals and groups is much more accepted state of things in Russia than it is in the West, and not necessarly means weakened morale.
Living example of this cultural feature:

More today from ISW re low RU morale and supply.  There's also an interesting paragraph on machinations within the Kremlin.

Yesterday FIRMS data. Robotyne is relatively calm and many fire in next Novoprokopivka village and some in Verbove. Probably one more indirect evidence UKR troops seized this village (or at least most part of it) and main efforts now shifted to south.

The Ukrainians are trying to use "something" like this by sappers (in the rear) who are clearing the fields of mines. Supposedly quite effective when undetected and stepped on mines such as the PFM-1, which contain only 40g of explosive, but you can lose a leg if you step on it.

Long version of the above.  The tank supporting them backs onto a mine and a twitter post says his HUMVEE was hit by RU artillery.  YT thinks it's russian so subs aren't great.
Edit - this is the same footage as the post above and has interviews, background and drone images to give overall the picture.

Some pretty intense footage of 59th OMBR attacking trench lines.  Youtube thinks it's russian so auto-gen subs aren't great.  One of the HUMVEE's hits a mine, I really hope the infantryman caught in the blast came out ok.

Was watching this time lapse and I wondered if it would be worth hitting all the repair equipment on the Kerch bridge with a couple of these missiles to slow down the repair process.  Too difficult or not worth the trouble/there are better targets?  Edit - answered my own question, it's not in range yet.

Long interview with two former US servicemen now in southern Ukraine.  They discuss lots of things, I'm about half way through and so far they've talked about river operations near Kherson, the UKR offensive, building an NCO corps.

Official information about today's Kinzhal strike. It was directed not against Kyiv, but to strike Kolomyya airfield in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, western Ukraine. Since 2004 this airfield was inactive and only during 2014-2016 it was restored as reserve airfield. It has tough conrete bunkers for aircraft.
Four Kinzhals were launched, probably at least two of them entered in Ukrainain airspace from north of Kyiv oblast and turned out in range of Patriot. Real laucnhes were accompanied with active EW imitations of false launches. One missile was shot down, I heard four explosions (2 missile at each Kinzhal), so likely we couldn't hit the second missile and it could broke through.
Press-secreter of Air Forces Command made a statement, three missiles hit the area of Kolomyya airfield, according to his words "enemy targeted our young pilots, who prepare themselves for tarining on F-16". One of theese missiles impacted near the private house and killed 8 y.o. boy. Nearest yards are in 1 km from airfield (it's about "precision").
Here on the photo a Volodymyr Balabanyk, the boy, killed in this strike

Been reading a few tweets claiming that UKR managed to capture battalion commander, one Major Tomov, in a raid over the river near Kherson.
Believe this is translated Telegram posts relating to the above describing what happened from the RU side

And these have been posted in the same thread, go-pro footage of a river raid.  Can't be sure it's tehs same action, the text claims it is I think.
