hmmm nope XP sp3 didn't work. Will have to keep plugging away at it!
-
ok Installed it on my win 7 machine. I can change it to a compatibility for say what? ZP service pack 3? Would that work. I don't see anything that allows for a 32 bit WIN 7 option or is that just a compatibility for XP.
Thanks

Is there a WIN 7 version of CMBB? Or should I just try my old CD version and reduce to 32 bit?
Thanks

Hmmm... You know what they say about assumptions. You'd think it would be reasonable to assume so, if the designer has not been specific, but I think to be on the safe side you can't. Next best bet is check out the details on the repository (assuming you downloaded it from there) as sometimes the designer may put more specific info there, or if it's a CMBN one check out the designer notes actually in the game. Bit of a pain and it would be good if designers could ensure they state how the scenario is designed to be played. Most do some don't.
Thanks George for the Scenario creation manual......it should be in the retail version.
Cheers!

Processor speed is definitely important, it's just not the main component in helping speed up the game. Ideally you need a combination of at least 2-4GB of fast ram (you meet this requirement already), a half decent cpu and a very decent graphics card. The graphics card is usually the single most effective component in speeding up games. HD speed does not come into it.
What cpu do you currently run? You should have something half decent with that spec.
Just to add, I have no major problems running the largest scenarios and I built myself a machine using an Intel i5 processor @ 4ghz, 8GB ram and a Nvidia 480. My machine is not the latest and greatest by any stretch of the imagination but it copes admirably largely due to the Nvidia graphics card. I run the game at the BEST settings with AF set to either 4x or 8x, which looks fabulous.
Sounds good. Have an ok video card... my chip is going to be upgraded this week. Presntly with a INtel R Pentium R D CPU 3.73. About 2 1/2 years old. Was looking at a i5 2500K 3.3 Ghz. Would that do the trick?

ok too bad. I take processor speed is also not a factor. Save every turn. Got it.

Noticed with some large scenarios I am starting to encounter this. I have 8 gig of ram with a WIN 7 system. Looking to do some upgrading. Would extra RAM help any or is this just an engine limitation?
-
OK thanks guys. I will not place it on my list

CW module before Xmas? Sorry have not been following the release that well. Any ideas if it would? I guess maybe the new year after the holidays. Getting a little close to the 25th. Would be nice for an Xmas gift.

What type of scenario generaton does it have? Of course from my signature interested in what forms of MP options there are. That in my mind is the ONLY weakness in the CMBN engine. Albeit a major one for me
<Edit> No MP options at all. Wow in 2011. That is horrible. Oh well.

Your 'password reset' email should have your username near the top of the email. Your username is typically the FIRST 25 CHARACTERS of your email address at the time you created the account (including all punctuation, '@', '.').
Finally got it to run. I did NOT include punctuation and it worked. Thanks though.

I have 4 copies of CMSF over the years with reloads etc. Can one get them reset or does the 4 activations per copy still apply for CMSF or was this just for CMBN.
-
Yes used that already....I see no way to retrieve ones username though associated with the email/password or am I just blind.
Thanks sir.
ps why is the forum account seperate from the repository? Would it not just be easier to have one longin for battlefront?

I've done a few maps that are more 'Euro' in feel.
If you download the scenario pack for Forging Steel you'll get some large euro type maps. Also Panzer Angriffe uses a very large euro type map. All available from the repository.
Excellent thank you sir!

It would be wise to narrow your request down. For one bit, the Alps is nothing like the Netherlands, nor London is like Russian Taiga, yet they're all in Europe. And 'large' is not very precise. What are the measures that you need? What type should it be?
Sure thing. Large would be around 2km x 2km.....

Nice one but looking for a larger one. Any ideas?

The NATO module's Atlantic Games scenario's map is based on a location in the Hürtgenwald. It pits Americans (US & Canada) against Europeans (German & Netherlands).
Great will use that one. Thx!

OK can't seem to recall my repository username....have the email and password for my account but can't see an option for getting my username sent to my emai?
Any ideas. Of course my forum account does not allow me access to the repository account. Never did understand that oh well. Any ideas?

haha sorry guys looking for a good european terrian/map/scenario for CMSF. WWWIII ish.
Thanks

Sorry if this question has been answered before but this is a make or break for me buying the game or not.
I really enjoyed the original CMs especially playing with friends and having it in the wego setup.
Sourly disappointed when Shock Force came out since the concept seemed awesome but now it was some real time gameplay which personally I don't like.
Can me, and a friend hundreds of miles away from me play the game in a turn based style?
Looks like for WEGO MP online you will have to wait for the next engine deisgn. I think the bulge series. I would think couple of years for that though
-
Good European map.....large one would be grand. Any recommendations?
Thanks

MP features are not going to improved IIRC till the next game engine. You could try using Hamachi to transfer files back in for quickly. It is no TC/IP but better than snail like email.....
-
Unfortunely your right. Will need a new game engine for any significant UI upgrades...

Agree would be an ideal feature!
