  1. I have also not understood the reasoning behind this decision. Wego without replay? What's the use in that? That is RT with a mandatory pause after every minute. Or did I misunderstand this?

No you have to REQUEST a pause from your opponent and HE decides when and IF you get one. Meanwhile things are dying and exploding all around your screen.

MP games (especially larger ones) are a click fest IMHO.

  2. Good point. And is it really only a fraction of users waiting for this feature?

As time goes on and more users venture in the MP realm I think this fraction grows every year.

MP features are always low on the hit list. Strange playing against such a weak AI still attracts most of BF's consumers. Baffling to me.

  3. This discussion has been around for years unfortunately.....

The pause system they have presently is not for my liking. Having to request a pause from ones opponent I think is still silly. I have never found it too work effectively. See Signature :)

That being said a TCP/IP WEGO replay would be amazing. Don't think it is even in the cards for CMSF 2 3.0. Pity.

  4. Read a great book but forget the title. Looking to buy it. Can you help?

It was concerning a historical fiction leading up to the WWII battle of Kursk.

One of the main characters was a tiger commander - captain from the (retired) Spanish Blue division revolving. The other main character was a T34 tank driver.

    Excellent read....

Any ideas on the title and/or author?

    Thanks

  5. I have noticed few problem with this game. I do hope that these problems will be adjusted / fixed when the new game engine will be released.

    10) Campaign should be multiplayer friedly. I know that BF does not want to use time to create a proper campaign, but it would be nice if human player would be able to take role of the AI in standard campaign. Who who cares about balance?

    Just my opinions.

+1 I think I have mentioned that one a few times since CMSF :)

  6. RCMP,

Item 1 on the impressive list JonS so kindly provided you is one of the Captain Alfred Becker Specials, conversions done by Alkett.

The critter (this one's been captured) looks like this and is, for game purposes, a Marder. Sadly, it's not modeled in the game, but is much better (below article not withstanding) protected than the slab sided German ones.

21PD had lots of converted French gear and is the subject of considerable interest by our own Kingfish.

    John Kettler

Thanks John. Sources are great....We were thinking something like the marder or the Stummel to substitute for them.

Since I have you OOB experts around thought I would throw one more at you.

On the southern front of the Utah landings we have the unit Pz 100 with a R35 silhouette on it. From the counter abstractions looks like a reduced armour battalion.

The 91st Div commander wants to take the secondary rd from Pont-l'Abbe using the Pz 100 (to the south & the 14 Pak 91 + Eng Btn) and make an attack on the 82'nd (h/3/508) company.

Any recommendations gentlemen of the PZ 100 and Pak 14 unit. Getting mixed info on compositions and suitable conversions to CMBN.

The 82 Div commander is an old salt and likes it as realistic as possible

  7. Hey guys just playing out a little campaign game...Just came across this unit PzJg 709 of the 709th Infantry division on the morning of June 6th. Any ideas on a realistic OOB for this unit? It appears to be a Battalion level unit with only "2 steps as opposed to the normal 3 "steps" for larger Battalion units.

Using the board game Battle for Normandy with 3 players + CMBN

    Thanks guys.....

  8. Ove a year ago I posted a 4km x 4km master map to the Repository of the XIX Corps area around July 11, 1944, using Google earth terrain. It's got all elevations done and the basic bocage pattern and roads laid in, but you'd have to detail the rest of it yourself in the areas you're interested in.

Thanks yes I have that one. Very nice!
