Husband drives tanks, wife shoots Lee-Enfields. Sounds logical. I guess your kids are into SMGs or handguns, right?
I just choked on my coffee reading this!!
Now I just have to clean off my legal documents ha!

Put em in an SS hitlerjugend unifrom and all of a sudden noone wants to take them alive. Quite right too.
I really wish they'd allow the intentional shooting of SS prisoners in CW because I have no space for child killers in my POW camps.
+1
Us Canadians have a special place for these "people" in Normandy. Let me at the 12 SS.

They are great for our operational games that need maps. Thanks for the intuitive labeling of them....
Can NEVER have enough maps.

It takes so long to complete an individual scenario, I can't imagine trying to complete a campaign with multiple scenarios.
I was thinking the same

Berchtesgarden.
How true!!

I don't know why on earth you old buggers don't just play Real-Time and pause it when you want!
Joking about the old buggers part of course
True unless your actually playing something else besides the AI in real time

Feeling not well today......<cough> <cough> going around the office letting people know I am suffering
Just in case I need a day off!

Never spent much time on the CMSF or CMBN campaigns. How do they differ from the good all days of CMAK/CMBB?
-
Well the main feature I would like is in the signature. Not likely anytime soon.
Armour arc's are also something I think we will have to wait for.......
how many more years for both well that is the question. CW loooks great though!
cheers

HoI 1 & II were completely engrossing for about a week as you figured it out. After you win the big campaign a couple times, its easy to put it down and forget. HoI III looks like the same engine, undoubtedly polished more, but I'd be surprised if it played any differently.
Did you ever play a MP game? Say 8 players? The Ai is well the AI!

How does SCGC compare with HOI3, or Grigsby's Pacific War games?
Am also confused that there is "SC Global Conflict" and then there are European and Pacific modules. Are the modules more detailed stand-alone versions?
I found HOI III + Add ons much more in depth. SCGC is more of a beer and pretzel wargame. The MP options were not the best either IMHO. Good game but not the best for grand strategic warfare.

It's criminal that such an amazing engine is wasted on this game (in my opinion). If you check most videos they are necessarily looking at an overview due to the realtime requirement for quick response and are missing out on all the amazing detail. The videos I've seen may as well be 2d icon games because of the need for overall intelligence in such a fast paced game.
It's a staple of these type of crossovers that it leaves you wishing that the developers could get together with the CM crew and lend their astonishingly fast and smooth engine to the level of tech detail that combat mission has. *sigh*
There are so many ridiculous things like infantry running at 30mph and tanks roaring through hedges and WOODS that make me wonder what the heck the devs were thinking and yet I look at the graphics and drool at the thought that some semblance of reality could be brought to the game and we'd have CMx8.
I'm sure it will be modded to add some realism too it by someone....

Curious what options does it have for MP games? I wonder if you can slow down the speed of it. Look a little like a click fest?
-
A button to toggle rapid versus deliberate rate of fire would be a good thing, obviously rapid will burn through your ammo fast and soon have you stopping to change barrels
I agree 100%!!!

Ah cheer up lads. This is the week.....by Friday I will be on the beaches of JUNO!
I can feel it.

Great thanks guys so much!

This is a source you should be referencing as it has very detailed descriptions of what arrived when.
Michael
Just got the book thanks!!! Looks amazing.
-
Well the videos look decent. Looking forward to the release!

When do we hit the 4 week mark? Next week IIRC?

I'll probably get slaked for suggesting this. But AAA could be represented as near offmap, at the same range as off map mortars lets say. Purchased or provided in the same method as artillery. Depending on the scenario they would still be in range of the CAS.
And I see the problem here, how do you represent offmap AAA involvement since you can't see the planes, you can't see the flak bursts from the guns 500 meters to the rear. Thought I'd put it out there anyways.
Sounds like the easiest way to implement I would suspect. If you have CAS you should have some rudimentary AAA reflected on or off board IMHO.

Is there any asset in CMBN or CW that will provide some air cover protection?
-
Only option besides the ancient PBEM/hotseating is RT with one speed setting and no pausing. FYI

See signature......

I understand the limitations of the CMx2 in terms of proper TCP/IP WEGO mode.
I do think that having the online realtime mode with automatic pausing is a great compromise. I secretly hope it will be implemented with some of the upcoming module (More secretly that it will be in the upcoming one.).
At least for me it will make the difference weather i buy normandy of will wait for eastern front (where hopefully it will be implemented).
I guess we just have to keep the faith and hope Steve can squeeze in some sort of MP compromise someday....

Thanks Mord. Have install problems but the MOD looks fantastic. You are truly gifted.
