  1. It's an interesting concept and I'll keep my eye open for anything relevant. Changes in personnel at the top might have had the biggest impact, especially if the Russian General Staff and commanders were no longer divided into two competing factions.
  2. To expand on this, you could transport units to the islands, but Congress won't like it as it will be seen as an anti-isolationist move. This will move the USA away from entering the war, so it's not worth the risk.
  3. Hi Mike I'm pretty sure it stays the same for surface vessels as tech advances. The only units that do receive enhancements in their evasion abilities with tech are subs (as tech increases their chances of diving) and Airships in SC WWI.
  4. The Japanese production for almost all of the oil resources will cease as soon as the US imposes an Oil Embargo on Japan. When that happens, not only does Japan lose their income, but the Dutch East Indies also swings towards the Allies, cutting off Japan's source of income from this source too. Henceforth, the only way Japan's economy can recover is through an expansionist war.
  5. Hi Fighters are better in interception or escorting missions, but if you get a chance to hit enemy Fighters on the ground, your Tactical Bombers are normally the best unit to use. Finally, fighters that are intercepted won't receive an escort, so they will have to protect themselves. I hope that helps!
  6. Both the chance of Bulgarian mobilization increasing every turn after Belgrade has been captured, and the % by which it would increase, have been raised. Now, there is a 50% chance every turn of Bulgaria moving 2-5% towards the Central Powers once Belgrade has been captured. This is in addition to the 10-20% increase when Belgrade is taken.
  7. Hi Clausewitz You are right, but there was a bug in the original release, shortly to be fixed in the first patch, that was giving China income from these resources when it shouldn't have been. From the first patch, it should be that these resources will be switched on and off by events and decisions.
  8. Hi Mike Do you mean Nanning in China? With that, if the Japanese capture it then SUPPLY scripts will trigger hurting China's income.
  9. There are some decision events that control things like the flow of US aid to China, so in that respect yes, but not in a general sense, i.e. if the UK wants to give money to France in 1939, there is no way in the default scenarios for it to do so.
  10. Hi Yolo911 Welcome back, and for China, their economy can be easily reduced in the editor by decreasing their Industrial Modifier. This should enable the Japanese to make more headway against them, and save you from banging your head against a brick wall!
  11. Hi It can be done either by convoy or via Decision Events. The latter could either trigger a resource script so that a mine/oil starts producing for one, and/or they can be used on their own to deduct money from one country to give it to another (though two scripts are required here). If you have SC WWI, take a look at the Decision Events for both Britain and France to provide the USA with funds when the latter enters the war. Britain and France have them for giving the money, and the USA has scripts for receiving it. Bill
  12. Hi Mike If you were to have more than one SUPPLY script set that targets a particular resource, then the effect will be cumulative and could be rather nasty! As to Malta, it is the Allies' occupation of the island that enables them to interdict Axis supply in the Med, and the only solution is Operation Herkules: the invasion of Malta!
  13. I can see what you mean, but I would imagine that if one player just tries to hold what they have, then in the long run unless their conquests pretty much equal their opponent's, one side or the other will have to attempt to drive their opponent back in order to avoid losing.
  14. Thanks, and that was one of the many changes made. Glad you like it!
  15. Hi It's just something I've thought of as a possible solution were we to consider them in need of a special boost, rather than being something that's actually been implemented. As I've been so far happy with the new changes to mountains, it is just an idea at the back of my mind at the moment. I'm sure that if an issue arises there'll be good feedback on this forum, and I'll be following it as always.
  16. Hi Ivanov There's a file called Version Notes that should be in the main game folder, and the changes should be listed in there.
  17. Stevenson's book was the most useful single source for designing this game, and I'm looking forward to reading his latest With Our Backs to the Wall: Victory and Defeat in 1918 in the near future!
  18. Hi It's true that determination increased, but on the other hand morale definitely took a real hit. In the game this is represented, but the entry of the US into the war, and the arrival of US forces in France, will offset most of this. In real life, had it been the case that the US wasn't in the war then I wonder how much more determined the Entente would have been. Would they have put more effort into negotiating a satisfactory peace? I don't know, but because they had the prospect of a large US army entering the war it certainly boosted their confidence to carry on the fight.
  19. Germany will annex Poland if the treaty is signed, or alternatively if the treaty isn't signed but Russia's National Morale falls below 1%. In 1.04, there is a significant National Morale boost to Germany due to grain imports from the Ukraine, if the Ukraine is neutral but pro-Central Powers. This is worth 100 points a turn. This is because the Germans can just import it without having to use force, and that goes hand in hand with the MPPs the grain will provide. However, failure to keep four German units within five tiles of Warsaw as a reminder to the various political forces in and around the Ukraine of the threat of force, will see the Ukraine swing towards the Entente. Were Germany to conquer the Ukraine then the active service of her forces there, even as just an occupational force, would prevent the morale boost caused by the grain imports. German forces in the east really lost the will to fight quite significantly, and David Stevenson's 1914-1918 says that approximately 10% of them deserted, or attempted to desert, when passing through Germany on their way to the western front. 10% is a really surprising and astronomical figure!
  20. Hi Glabro Yes, ultimately Russia's National Morale will keep falling, so your conquests aren't good news for the Entente. However, the toppling of the Tsar and the new provisional government did to a certain extent improve confidence in the regime and also in their hopes in the war, so Russia receives a one-time boost at the first revolution. This means that they can set about organizing either a prolonged defense or the Kerensky offensive.
  21. Hi Ivanov The Guides have been amended slightly for 1.04, so just to clarify here are the details of the Brest-Litovsk decision: DE 620 - Germany: Sign The Brest-Litovsk Treaty with Russia? Event fires: Automatically on or after the 1st August 1914 when Berlin is in Central Powers hands, Germany is aligned with the Central Powers and fully mobilized, Russia is aligned with the Entente and fully mobilized but having undergone a Bolshevik Revolution after Lenin was sent to Russia in DE 619 and with her National Morale having fallen below 10%. Cost of accepting: Germany receives 300MPPs. Yes: Russia withdraws from the war and Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and the Ukraine will all become independent neutral states. No: Russia will stay in the war until its National Morale has fallen below 1%* Note: Bolshevik agitation will continue to affect German and Austro-Hungarian unit morale irrespective of the decision made here. *From the text to DE 619 on whether or not to send Lenin to Russia: "In the event that Russia’s National Morale falls below 1% then she will surrender and many new countries will form as the Tsar’s Empire collapses. Germany with gain Russian Poland and all the Central Powers will receive a boost to their National Morale." This morale boost doesn't come if the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk is signed, because signing that treaty significantly increased the hope for peace within Germany, i.e. it lowered their morale to continue the war.
