  1. My girlfrend and I will be in Chicago that afternoon (she volunteers at the Shedd). She's done at 4, though, so I'll need to find a way to ditch her whilst we get ou 'sneak peek'. North Pier has shopping, right?
  2. Hmm.. I think the Comet is the SEXIEST tank in CMBB.. it looks so cool.. you could definately pick up loose women in that thing. As for usefulness.. the Churchill VII - good 75mm gun, almost impenetrable frontal armor. Gotta love that. I've taken out more Tigers with those than anything else.
  3. I love you guys. This is great! CMBB will be coming out for my final semester at college - I'm only taking three classes, Math 101 (ouch.. it's gonna hurt.. I find it somehow difficult to believe that I need to know abstract mathematical principles to lead a functional and fulfilling life - if someone can just JUSTIFY math to ME, I'll be happy to take the class AND pass), a biomedical policy class (fun!!! - really!! and I'm an international relations major!) and STRESS AND RELAXATION TECHNIQUES! HA! I can't imagine the class making me relaxed when it keeps me away from CMBB for two hours a week. I've got time to burn. Let me lavish you with money, BTS!!!!!!!!
  4. As useless as these tanks may appear to be for 1944, they do have a certain 'look' to them that I like. I will enjoy fighting with them if I can.
  5. YES!!!!!! Finally 50% of my German units will be in the ever-so-cool ambush scheme. Fantastic. My plan is coming together.
  6. Section 1 people: I'm available for PBEM and/or TCP games at any time, but TCP especially Fridays and Sunday afternoons or very later at night (-6 GMT, US Central time). I look forward to the battle!
  7. I'm not a Nordic wanna be! My grandparents came from there!! Surely that counts for SOMETHING??? Anyway.. I'm in.. please.
  8. Hmm.. I'll go with wanting to see the Finns, though I'd gladly play any ally. I have this wierd attraction to the Finnish Army. The Italians had a lot of interesting stuff, as did the Hungarians. What about the Slovaks? I don't know if any of them will make it into the game.. I'd assume so, but I haven't heard anything.
  9. The Spaniards (Blue Division) won't be in the game because, as I understand it, they were more or less identical to the Germans. Even wearing pretty much the same uniforms. But, I won't confirm or deny anything until I see the finished product. That's just what a little bird told me.
  10. <blockquote>quote:</font><hr>Originally posted by Nabla: We seem to have a number of these borderline cases. Under pressure a surprising number of people seem to crack and admit some Nordic connections or sympathy for the Nordic people. We'll count you in by default. If we get more than 24 participants then we'll see what we'll do. Ok?<hr></blockquote> Sweet.
  11. In CMBB, it appears as though AFVs will now appear in platoons, with associated C&C benefits of having a leader. They will cease being individual units and function as a team.
  12. Uh.. I'm of Swedish, Norweigan and Prussian descent. Does that count? Is Chicago far enough north to count as Nordic?
  13. I just came across a picture today showing US Paratroopers and mech units wearing camo uniforms in Normandy. I think the paratroopers were 82nd AB and the mech folks were from, according to the bumper IDs on their HTs from the 2nd Armored Division's 41st Infantry. Any insight? Was this a fluke? Misrepresented picture?
  14. I'd love for this and the tri-color mods to be CMMOS compatible.. either way, it looks like I have a new Jagdpanther mod. Looks great!
  15. My head still hurts.. ow.. good beer. A laptop would have made the evening perfect.. but as it was, I still had a lot of fun.
  16. And still nothing on CMBB... god.. where's the heroin? It's less addictive than this damn game. I need my fix! Come on!! PLEASE!! I'm starting to get shivers!
  17. We can always hold another meeting if he can't make it (though I really hope he does) - I think Washington and California CMers are doing that already.
  18. I'm there. No dress code. It's kind of a casual typo-suburban bar/restaurant. I think I heard someone call it "a legitimate TGI Fridays."
  19. I'm still going. The exact address of the place is 1901 McConnor Parkway in Schaumburg. Coming from the city, take I-90, exit South on 53/355. Exit anywhere on your right. You should be able to see RAM from the highway. I've never actually been there myself, but I had my sister to a recon of it last week and now have the menu right in front of me, if anyone is interested.
  20. The way I recall doing it in the modern US Army is this: FO: You, this is me, fire mission. Over. FDC: Send it. Over. FO: Troops, company strength in a forest. Grid XX xxxx-xxxx. Over. FDC: Roger. Break. (pause) FDC: Mike Echo Five Three and Five Five (battery call-signs, FDC determines what to fire) are in support. HE and ICM. Shot over. FO: Shot, out. FDC: Splash, over. (spotting shell lands) FO: Splash, out. (FO makes any adjustments) FO: Fire for effect. Out. -- And then the steel rains down. Was it like this in WWII?
  21. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by rune: Well, you ignored me about the 28th, as I am doing an assessment on a National Candidate for Referee [soccer]. So, I won't be sure if I can make it, depends on what time the game ends and what time the assessment is. Assuming I can make it, I will be wearing a hockey jersey and a USS Enterprise baseball cap. Rune<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Eeekk.. I didn't see any mention that the 28th would be bad for you. I apologize. I hope you can make it.
  22. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by tabpub: So is this the time and place? I will try to be there. Hope I am not alone and holding a beer by myself.... <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> 7PM at RAM, Oct. 28th.
