  1. I haven't built the final download version installer yet so that filesize is an approximation (although its going to be around 350-400 megs more than likely) but yes the data files DO compress very well now. The games installed footprint is about 1 gig. Also, the credit card is charged immediately. Madmatt
  2. Actually, that card should work, I just can't predict how well. The specs currently listed on the order page are still *best guess* based on our internal testing and I was a little more conservative than maybe I should have been but CMSF does like a powerful system, that much is for sure! Madmatt
  3. Well, there seems to be a problem with the unlock file (its not unlocking! Doh!)so I am sorry but it won't be ready tonight, unless I can figure out why its not working. I have emailed 1C about this so I should have it all worked out by tomorrow. Madmatt
  4. It's not a key, but rather a saved User Profile where all the missions had been completed successfully, thereby allowing you select any battle. I will get that uploaded here in just a few minutes! Madmatt
  5. These days Adam, ya just never know... Madmatt
  6. Ummm...NOOOOOO. Select Canada as the Country, and then in the State/Province drop-down, select the appropriate Canadian Province. Madmatt [ July 02, 2007, 04:16 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  7. Because it took me all day to make up the order page! Madmatt
  8. Not sure what you mean by "packaging" exactly. The Deluxe Version has the mousepad and map extra, other than that, they are the same. Madmatt
  9. July 2nd, 2007 Combat Mission: Shock Force now available for Pre-Order Your not dreaming! You read that right! Combat Mission: Shock Force is now available for Pre-Order! The Pre-Orders are being offered in two versions. A traditional Standard Edition, which includes the game and a 200 page printed manual and a new Deluxe Collectors Editionversion which includes the game, 200 page manual as well as a full color Combat Mission: Shock Force Mouse Pad which features helpful game commands and interface info. The Deluxe Collectors Edition also comes packed with a beautiful color 14" x 14" Syrian Operational Map which details the units involved and the planned axis of advance for Task Group Lightning, which is featured in the hypothetical invasion of Syria that Combat Mission: Shock Force depicts. All Pre-Orders give you not only the game CD and printed manual, but also access to download the game when it is released on July 27th. In addition to that, Pre-Orders also save you 10 bucks over the regular sale price. It's been four years since the last Combat Mission game was released, but you don't have to wait another minute because you can Pre-Order Right Here, Right Now! 10. Just to clarify, there were some LOS changes in the patch, (especially with regards to seeing through tree's and foliage) but more global and widespread changes to LOS as well as a LOS type tool are being still looked at for inclusion into a future patch. Madmatt
  11. Yes, you can only buy this game directly from us. You only need a connection to the internet when you first install the license or if you decide to unlicense the game. Once the game is licensed that first time, you dont need a connection to the internet any other time you play the game. Madmatt
  12. gwack, did you have the DVD or download version of the game? If the DVD version, then you probably just need to rename one file to get everuthing working (a few mirror sites hosted an incorrect version of the patch that had this issue). Browse to your game folder and see if you have a file called tow2.dll. If you do, rename it to elicen40.dll and now try and launch the game. Madmatt
  13. Its all detailed on this page: http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/patch.html Madmatt
  14. The sticker was on the manual?!? Hmmm, it was supposed to have gone on the back of the DVD case itself and it wasnt supposed to be such a huge label... I guess I need to call up the warehouse and yell at someone again... Madmatt
  15. Uninstall and unlicense the game from your old system (be sure to copy down the license code) and then just install the game on the new computer and when prompted to license, input the code. When you run the uninstaller, you will be prompted to unlicense automatically. Madmatt
  16. No he means the towsetup.exe which allows you to set the game settings/graphics options. Madmatt
  17. 1C has already confirmed that they have this issue fixed, but since the current patch is already mirrored on dozens of sites and it would be hard to get them all to update with yet another version so soon, we will just roll this fix into the next formal patch. For now, DMG's workaround above should work for people that encounter this issue. Madmatt
  18. Oh, you may be right. Yes, you have to assign a key to that function, it is not set automatically. Madmatt
  19. And you have been complaining a lot today I have noticed, but thats fine, its your right. Be advised though that the full list of patch features was posted at several times i nthe past so while you can be upset that some of your pet peeve issues weren't included, its not as if we ever said they would be (for example on-board mortars). Now, as to the save games, it is listed in the patch documentation that save games would be lost but I contacted 1C and they said that if you first backup your users\player1 directory, you *should* be able to restore it after you patch and get your save games back. I am sorry I did not know this was possible before now, as I would have advised people to do that. Please note though, I have NOT yet had time to test this yet. However I think that greater stability, performance, AI and gameplay enhancements, a map editor and all new 10 mission campaign more than makeup for the loss of any in-progress campaign savegames. You may disagree with my opinion, that is your choice. Now then, to help offset any loss of save games, I will be posting a new "User Profile" that will unlock ALL the Campaing missions. Essentially, it is a copy of a user profile that has already played and won every battle. With this user profile loaded, you can pick and choose any battle that you wish to play from any of the campaigns. Is it a perfect solution, NO, but again, I think it will work well for most people. I expect to have that ready before the weekend, maybe much sooner. Madmatt
  20. well that's really useless to me...this patch keeps getting worse and worse every time I read the boards. Who's bright idea was it to not allow making new maps or save as functions anyway ? come on peeps this stuff is basic common sense.... </font>
  21. I will be posting a special "user profile file" soon that when selected (under the Profiles menu) will have all the campaign missions unlocked. Look for that in the next few days. Madmatt
  22. Those improvements won't be seen on everyone's system. They were specific to certain CPU's. Mostly for those with dual/quad-cores, but other enhancements for hyperthreading as well. Make sure and uncheck the Use One CPU option if you have a dual/quad or HT CPU. Madmatt
  23. That system should run the game very well. Make sure and read through all my suggestions on the troubleshooting guide: http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/troubleshooting.html Also, you dont happen to be runing with two montitors by chance? If so, disable the second display. Also make sure that you set all the setting both in the game itself AND with the towsetup.exe program. Make sure they match. Madmatt
  24. Were you running the normal exe or the 1.4 one? Madmatt
