  1. All of those chat systems run using Java (at least mine does). You may want to try and download the latest Microsoft Virtual Machine (java stuff) from the Update Windows link on your PC. Madmatt
  2. Actually we are listening and watching...I have been doing my own testing on this matter myself...More to follow... Madmatt
  3. Thank you and luckily we will never know what would have happened although I doubt Charles would have put his name on a project unless it rocked. Anyway, lets close this little love fest up and get on with the normal forum activities of complaining, whinning, and generally making my life a living hell... Madmatt psst..It's 'Madmatt'..Not MadMatt... [ 05-25-2001: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  4. Please use one of the online chat systems or the Opponent Finder Forum if you are looking for a game. Thanks! Madmatt
  5. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by MikeyD: Elsewhere on this site Madmatt has just told us to look for a MAJOR announcement/update on CHHQ this weekend. Are your dreams about to come true?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> The annoucement has nothing to do with CM2, just about CMHQ. Madmatt
  6. It is a place for member sof the forum to meet up with other CM players, hurl incredibly funny and, for the most part intelligent, insults and taunts back and forth wage war via Combat Mission with each other, hone their tactical and gameplay techniques and generally tick off people from time to time. Think of it as a huge disfunctional PBEM/TCP game community with an abusive father, a neglect Mother and a Cousin that keeps bumming the other members of the family for cigarette money. We read it (if the verb READ is really applicable) from time to time, get a chuckle out of it and allow it to continue. And Why? Well because... Time to move on gentlemen.... 7. Or at least info about your program. Here is the deal. We now have a growing list of really sweet CM specific utilites floating around but I don't know of any one site that has them all hosted or even a full list of these CM Essentials. Now, I am not talking about Mods here, I am talking about programs like the new BER (Random Endgame Generator) the web-based QB Randomizer, the PBEM Manager and the like. What I would like is to have the people involved in these projects just drop me a line and give me a brief rundown on your tool, what it does, where it is hosted (I will link to it, I don't need to host the files unless you want me too) so I can start a new section on CMHQ called: CM Essentials Addons and Utilities. I think it would be nice to have one comprehensive list of all the programs that are out there now as I am sure there are some that I am not aware of. So, send me what ya got and I will do my part and make it known to the world! By the way, expect a HUGE Annoucement and Update this weekend at CMHQ (No, its not about CM2!)... Madmatt
  8. I dont want people being able to change their public names. The Default Post list should be remembered as long as your cookie is working correctly though. Madmatt
  9. It's ok, viewing then should be ok, thats why I locked them up already. Matt
  10. Its more than crash worthy, its downright disasterous. That thread is causing me beacoupe issues and I may have to lock it down before it kills the forum again! Madmatt
  11. By the way, I looked at it (as did the rest of us lunatics at Battlefront) and we think its pretty darn nifty! Madmatt
  12. Yeah...sniff sniff...Hmm...smells too much like a Cess Leak...
  13. See this thread for updated info on this issue: http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=019113 Madmatt

  16. Okay, all the old corrupt user accounts (and we know who you were!) have been repaired and all the Hacked Attempt style messages should be gone. We still lost a few days worth of posts and for that we are sorry but we retrieved as much as we could. Anyone that created a new username to try and login (while their old one was broke) *should* be able to use their old account and be fine. The Search Feature is also working a little better but we are looking at a more permanent solution to that issue. So, let the game resume! Madmatt
  17. Ok, there are still some problems we are trying to iron out but here is what we know. Posts from this past week are GONE, bye bye, never to return. There are still some issues with peoples login ID's. Don't know if I will be able to get those resolved or not. Doesn't look good. Thats it. If problems persist with accessing the forums then, clear your cache, and cookies and re-register if you have to. Thats all I can recommend at this point and to be honest I dont even know if that will work...Just be patient, we are working on it! Madmatt [ 05-21-2001: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  18. In case you missed the message when you logged in here goes: The Server encounted a physical error early Sunday Morning and as such data had to be restored. This means that posts since Monday 5/14/01 were LOST. We do not think we will be able to recover them but we will certainly try. Madmatt

  22. Ok, what drivers for you Geforce are you using? I would highly recommend the official 6.50 version Detonator 3 drivers direct from Nvidias website. Also, is this occuring in all types of battles (large and small) or specific maps? Check also to see if there is any correlation between the map type (snowing, raning, fog etc...) and the lockups. You may want to also have a look in the Windows Device Manager and make sure that none of your devices (cheifly the Soundcard and Video card) are not sharing any resources (IRQ's) as that can also cause lockups in some games. Matt
  23. Thanks! And as we here tip our glasses in honor of ummm...well apparenly in honor of US let me just give ya a little chaser for this shot..Yeah here it is...
