  1. thewood, nice sig, although I would have bolded the text part so it sticks out more, i.e.: for example...
  2. sorry, my mistake...in that case, you will love my new sig...
  3. [intentionally deleted] bad day at work...nothing to see here..move along... [ October 05, 2007, 11:04 AM: Message edited by: Sgt.Joch ]
  4. been looking in the mirror again, I see.
  5. I havw waited 7 years for validation from Steve. My life is complete. As soon as I figure out how to do it...I have a sig. </font>
  6. very nice, big FPS boost, terrain drawn out farther, same visual quality, however noticed some intermittent texture flashing. I see Strykers still cannot open up if they are unloaded, hopefully that will be fixed in 1.05? core duo 6750, gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R, 7900 GTX, 2 gig DDR2 800, WIN XP SP2
  7. good news jason C, will give you some feedback after I have played a few PBEM.
  8. ...what is the old saying, can't see the forest because of the trees ..a 1.04 bonus, I presume.
  9. I personally have no problem with syrian squads being split or not, just mentioning the rationale as explained by the powers that be. I also remember that they wanted it to be that way to reflect one of the advantages the U.S. has with their flexible TO&E and C2...although that fine point is usually overshadowed by the massive&overwhelming firepower advantage of the U.S. player ...
  10. There was a thread about that a year ago, I think the Rudel.Dietrich Syrian TO&E thread. It apparently has to do with the TO&E of real Syrian infantry squads, AFAIR they do not have teams and would never split a squad in RL.
  11. what makes you think we were sane before...
  12. I managed to track this down after much detective work: Charles and Steve beta testing the latest build.
  13. apparently we will only get water in the WW2 module, hard to simulate D-Day with no water... However, I do hope we eventually get rain in CMSF since it does rain in Syria, from time to time.
  14. I always imagine Charles as a sort of mad scientist who works by instinct and does not keep any records of what he does..an assistant would probably spend his time making coffee and listening to his war stories...
  15. yes, god forbid anything ever happens to Charles, BFC would go down the drain... ...I'm sure Steve and Madmatt will keep him locked up in a padded room, safe from the outside world, until he has finished coding all the CMx2 titles and modules...
  16. that's right, no fire...but then there is also no water to put it out..
  17. you mean unlike the rest of the crowd that hangs around here...
  18. That is all very nice Steve, but when will we see that "magical cure-all" 1.04 patch so we can make up our own mind. I have a brand new Duo Core 6750/P35 system sitting idle!
  19. Any news? will we get 1.04 for the weekend? I want to restart the campaign and wipe out some more Syrians!
  20. Hell, who would even notice war had been declared? I'm a lawyer and I have trouble understanding what the text means. We are far from Roosevelt's "Day of infamy" speech.
  21. tempting...I may buy another copy and average my cost down...
  22. I keep popping in to see if 1.04 was released and all I see are negative threads. Although I was initially disappointed, I have been very happy since 1.03 came out. CMSF is pretty realistic, good graphics, great sound, many features are a distinct improvement over CMx1 (i.e. air/arty, relative spotting, target memory), pathfinding still has a few issues but I have noticed improvements over CMx1. I personally have had no technical issues. My old rig (opteron 170, asrock mb, 7900 gtx, win xp) ran CMSF with no problems. My new rig ( Duo Core 6750, P35 mb, 7900 GTX, win xp) also runs CMSF with no problems ... but faster! And even more important, I like the game and I am having fun! ...so call me a fanboy!
  23. that is not quite true, I remember seeing copies of LOMAC selling for $ 9.99 at Staples about 2 months after the game came out. The price for Jane's F/A-18 was cut a 1/3 two weeks after it came out (I know, I paid full price the day it was released). That is just the nature of the business, only giants like Microsoft can dictate selling prices to retailers.
