  1. Hi Guys, Commissar, not quite done but we are getting close Gustav, I not quite sure yet on textures and models for German vehicles yet. First priority is to get the new models out of the way and then we will see. We would like to upgrade the models slightly from CM1 to add a little extra detail, but we will see how time goes.

  3. Hiya Tiger, Hehe, Ill have to run that one past the guys, but I get a feeling it would be pretty far down the list. Ive just had a quick read and it appears that only one entered service as a command vehicle, on the East Front in early '44. Apparently the other 4 made were used for training and 3 were then converted to recovery vehicles. I dont know what happened to the last one Ill soon be starting on the German vehicle models so you asked at the right time, though there are plenty of cooler vehicles one the list Ill want to get in there first. Dan
  4. Hi Guys, To be fair to others Im going to lock this one up as we are directing all off topic posts over to the general forum Dan
  5. Hi Stefan, Yes, I noticed that problem myself and it has been passed onto Matt. Im sure he will look into it as soon as time permits Dan
  6. Hi Guys, There is another reason that hasnt been mentioned yet...we are as busy as hell I cant speak for the other guys but Id say they do the same as I, I read the forum a lot during the say, but dont have the time to answer questions as often as Id like. If I feel I can clarify a certain topic, I will, especially if its related to my area. Currently I am getting through around 6-8 models a day. If I cut that back to say 4 models a day that is probably an extra month Ill end up adding to the development of the models alone. Considering we are aiming for a release late this year that isnt something we can afford Thankfully 9 times out of 10 some of the more seasoned members of our forum are able and good enough to keep the answers flowing for the new guys. Hopefully not too far away we will be able to start sharing info, etc on CM2, once things settle down a little. Dan [ 04-10-2001: Message edited by: KwazyDog ]
  7. Doh I was just fixing that when you read it, should have read 'do not' [ 04-11-2001: Message edited by: KwazyDog ]
  8. Hiya Ellros I cant quite yet unfortunaetly. Hopefully we can start to give you guys some more eye candy soon though, there are just a couple of behind the scenes factors at the moment that we are waiting on. Dan
  9. Hiya Aki, I will pass this one onto Charles, as it dosnt *sound* too complicated and has been asked for before. Of course, sometimes the simpliest things can be impossible. Dan
  10. Actually guys, we definitely do *not* see CM2 as simply an add on. A lot more work is being done than simply sticking new models and textures into the old engine. I cant go into details at this point but there will be many enhancements to the CM engine to simulate combat on the Eastern Front better than the current CM engine can, and even graphically it will be improved over CM1. If you do some searching you will probably find some hints from Steve as to what some of these enhancements may be. Remember guys that CM2 is going to involved the entire 41-45 campaign. It has taken me the best part of two months to get on top of the Russian vehicle models for the game. All this time and more Charles has been coding, and has plenty more planned. I am hoping that people are going to be pleasantly surprised at to what will be in CM2, I know I wish I could be playing it already, hehe. As for the initial question, Im not quite sure what’s being asked as such. As others have suggested points A and B will need to wait for an engine rewrite, as the CM engine wasn’t designed to handle such abilities and the average computer probably isn’t up to a point to handle them without long delays calculating turn resolution. Point C is another matter though. The engine rewrite itself will take some time...I can only guess at this point but probably along a similar time scale as CM's coding time. You’d certainly be waiting more than an extra year Id say. Anyways, back to those models Dan [ 04-10-2001: Message edited by: KwazyDog ]
  11. Hi Guys, I just wanted to let you know that Peter up there has pretty much hit the nail on the head. It is something that we would like to do and I don’t believe it has been ruled out yet, but our decision is that if we would have to compromise our goals for CM2 in any way for this feature, then it will have to be left out. CM2 is going to be one *big* package though, so I think there will be enough to keep people more than entertained even if this isn’t something we can do. Hehe, I’ve just finished building so many KV models that you couldn’t count them on two hands Guys, lets try and keep things on a nice and polite level. Jinxx's question was about Combat Mission, so its probably best if we stick to that Dan
