  1. No. The Sikh turbans were a real problem with making good screenshots.
  2. Yeah. When @benpark posted the picture the evil part of me thought how perfect it would be to post it. Partly because there is a graphical glitch in the current beta version of it that would stop me from otherwise posting a something including it. And @AlexUK we're working on starting up an AAR. We really want to avoid what happened with Rome to Victory. So we won't be starting it right away. But discussions have been taking place.
  3. Let's change the subject. How bout this........
  4. Thanks rocketman! ( And thanks for calling me George)That is very cool!
  5. Let's lay off the personal shots, OK, guys? This thread is outside the forum rules enough as it is. But these are singular times. So we've left it go.
  6. I believe these are early but @Bud Backer can correct me if I'm wrong. In the shot that I took the late had the skirts.
  7. Exactly why this stuff is so important. I just reminded myself of a good example of the level of detail the TO&E that goes into the game. I had a guy contact me the other day saying that he couldn't purchase an SPW 251/3 in single vehicles. They were only available in the Panzergrenadier Battalion 44 (armored). The guy asking said he could have sworn he had done individual purchases of them in old scenarios he'd made. I decided to ask Steve if this was intentional or needed to be fixed. He replied quickly (this is a copy/paste) : " "The 251/3 should never have been available, but I can’t say for sure that it wasn’t accidentally allowed at some point. As a hard and fast rule, no command or specialized non-combat support vehicles are ever allowed for individual purchase. We are not going to change that. For this one specifically, the logic is pretty straight forward. In real life the 251/3 was only ever used to transport a select number of HQ units. We don’t allow purchasing stand alone HQs, therefore to be consistent we shouldn’t allow the purchase of the 251/3. Plus, there’s really no difference between a 251/3 and a 251/1 except for passenger capacity." These kinds of things are discussed all the time. And it's a large part of what caused Rome to Victory to get dragged out for so long. That should not be the case with Fire and Rubble. Edit: It was a conversation about CMBN. Also, I'm probably belaboring the point because I've very loquacious today for some reason.
  8. Nope. It's not outsourced. Steve has very deep and extensive knowledge and source material. And there are some beta testers that seem to have information and resources that make me wondering if they studied this stuff in college or somefink. And then there are people who post something on the public forums that end up getting discussed "backstage". I guess it's the nature of the war game genre. It attracts people who know this stuff inside and out and doing the research for many of them seems to be more enjoyable than playing the games. I find that with a lot of scenario designers too. They enjoy making a scenario more than fighting the battle.
  9. Since I'm not sure which bit might have been unclear and I know the written word if difficult when you're not Hemingway, I'll try to add some clarity. This comments pertains to formation(s) that aren't in the game yet. Full formation(s) that aren't in the most recent beta build at all. That's a good sized thing but not as big as it might sound (that's why I estimated 90% and not 50% or somefink). That is the fun bit. Once we start seeing these new formations, discussions about what should or shouldn't have been placed in them take place by people who know a scary amount about things like squad head counts, exactly what weapons each member of a unit should have, ammo counts, pouches in a uniform, you name it. The testers debating these things, and members of this forum who aren't, constantly amaze me with their knowledge. The longer I've been around this the deeper I go down the rabbit hole. Somefink like how many SMGs are in a squad and how many rifles. It affects how the unit behaves in battle. Sometimes I'll play "well, here's a squad. Let me move them in" and sometimes I'll play "I'm sending this squad in because they're carrying x, y and z and that's what's needed in this situation" I hope gives a better idea of what I meant.
  10. If I were to guess? 90% There's a big group we haven't seen yet. Once that's in it comes down to arguing about what's right or wrong. :-). Rather than waiting for things to be added. If that makes sense.
  11. I don't have a good answer for you but I'll tell you what I expect. Once the TO&E is complete (or 95% complete) I believe the rest will come together very very quickly.
  12. Nuts! I apologize. The weekend got away from me. (today is Monday, right?) Here ya go:
  13. I actually have a couple more I'll throw up later. @Bud Backer made some that I didn't see until after I'd posted mine.
  14. No. There is no functional change. What it's showing is are the "invasion stripes" that appear when a scenario designers uses a Berlin tag. I'm in the middle of testing another monster of a battle (I swear...Some of these are going to feel like 1 battle campaigns) and kept thinking how cool they looked and how much they added to the "feel" of the battle.....So I posted a screenshot.
  15. Yeah. And there's something different about this one.
  16. Before this thread gets any more out of hand than it already has.....Let's leave the politics and consirracy theories for a different forum. And maybe keep this thread more devoted to what we're watching while social distancing and the condition of our livers. OK?
  17. I've got a plan for how to show a couple of things. Hopefully soon-ish
  18. Oh. I don't think the system is set up to do that. Plus, if it were possible, it would mean going through each post and deciding which posts should be moved and which shouldn't. if that's something you're interested in the best thing would be for you to open a second browser windows and in one open the post you want in the new one to copy and the other to paste in the new thread.
  19. Of course. Go for it, bro! I hope to have something to add to such a thread at some point in the (hopefully) not too distant future.
  20. OK. These are some @George MC screenshots. I liked them because they really capture the "feel" of some of the battles we've been playtesting. Also, as a loose status update. Anyone who remembers why I started this thread may remember that March 31st was an important date. We're now in April. Full focus has now shifted back. It never stopped....we got at least 2 fresh builds since I started this thread....but it's back in full gear.
