  1. Man, he has people everywhere. Getting some more guys into position to help out the Sapper team and sure enough, spotted 2 more units watching the area. Looks like I also plinked another guy with the recoilless gun...It still isn't knocked out though.
  2. This is a look at what I have been seeing a lot of. One guys gets plugged. A little while later his buddy gets popped. This is happening all over the map to both of us. Death by a thousand papercuts. I hope that this favors me. My infantry near Berliner Weisse is pretty beat up. I have a good deal of squads that are fine but I have just as many that are torn up.
  3. Back down near where he ran into the SMG Company I see this. That kind of stuff is always happy making. Also, the AT rifles teams have made it back to safety.
  4. To move my Sappers into position so that they can blast their way through the buildings and with any luck get a shot at the Panther I need to get some covering fire for them. So I move a team into the corner building and, of course, he has eyes on it. At times it feel that there is nowhere on the map that I don't control that I can move without taking some fire. The recoilless continues to take potshots at my armor near Berliner Weisse but he must be firing area fire because I can't target him with my armor (although I can with an HQ unit) and he probably can't target me.
  5. I forget if this is normally done or not...Either way I always thought that it should be. Now that we are about 1/3 of the way into the battle it's time to open it up. This is a place for you guys to kibitz. Ithikial and I will not look at this thread and you can feel free to talk about what we've done right and what we've done wrong. Try not to be too cruel to us because we will see it when the battle has ended. OK, I'm outa here unto after the battle is finished.
  6. The second hit did the trick. Now I can regroup my SMG company a little bit.
  7. I can bring 3 AT Rifle teams into play and hope one of them gets a chance before they're taken out. I bring them up and get them into position and take the shot!
  8. I still think that I have the armor advantage. So, all I can do is shake it off and move on. The armored car. After his infantry got torn up by the SMG company the only significant damage that I've been taking if from an armored car with a 20mm gun. That can hurt some squishies. What can I do about it?
  9. He had snuck into Berliner Weisse. I never spotted him until the shot had already taken me out. As he was reloading I was able to exact revenge.
  10. I knew this would happen a some point. Frankly, I'm surprised that it didn't happen before now. Expecting it at some point doesn't make it any better.
  11. I just downloaded the Windows patch without a problem. Try using a different browser and/or disabling your anti-virus software and fire wall during the download.
  12. Here is the direct link. https://battlefront.sharefile.com/d-s02bf6ac6de74ab49 Hopefully the website fix finally sticks too
  13. Thanks for the heads up. The link has been fixed.
  14. A part of me regretted mentioning anything but the changes are showing in this battle so it was an appropriate time to say somefink. I don't want to derail the thread over it and since it is a work in progress I also don't want to talk about it in a new a thread just yet. But I am glad that I said something because we've said for a while that we're aware of an issue and it's being worked on. At least now people can see that wasn't just lip service. Turns out Ithikial_AU has changed his opinion about the changes and said this in a DM I got this morning (I don't think he knew that I brought it up yesterday): In my reply I didn't mention that he has already dislodged lots of Veteran troops. So, it's not "virtually impossible" to dislodge Veteran troops
  15. I already know how the situation plays out. There are probably 2 turns that haven't been posted here yet. I should probably wait for him to catch up posting before continuing. No. The opposite. General game engine spoiler. The running away code is being worked on (not just for CMRT). I think both ithikial_AU and I agree that units may be too resistant to run away and route now. So, it will probably be tweaked the other direction a bit before release. But suicide movements are gone....for now. at least. Think of that as a bone for all titles.
  16. I am not without casualties of my own. It would be 1 man here or there in a squad if it wasn't for the armored car. It put a nice hurt on an HQ unit, causing 6 out of 11 casualties. I think that I got the better end of that deal by far. I gotta get rid of that armored car though before it causes more damage. I have AT rifle teams in the area. About all they're good for (in my experience) is against armored cars and halftracks. (I think that I'll make that all that I'll put up today. It feels like a lot more but I've only shown 2 turns since the 3 dead AFVs.)
  17. Here we goooooooooooooooooo........I've been waiting for this chance since the early part of this battle. He's moving in toward my SMG Company and they are doing exactly what I have had them there to do. It's a slaughter. There is no attriting going on here. If I thought there was a lot of lead in the air near Berliner Weisse I hadn't seen anything yet. Everywhere I look I see German red crosses. Within seconds his troops are mowed down. Man, I hope these images capture it.............
  18. Meanwhile, what is happening where the SMG Company is set up? Well, I just caught these guys scampering around.
  19. There ya go. 7 out of 7 from this series are infantry. The next batch I have loaded up is infantry based as well. I may post some more today because it'll show some good news for the my men.
  20. I have broken off a Sapper team as my latest idea for how to deal with the Panther near Berliner Weisse. The team has 8 demo charges. I plan to bring them to the building we'd been fighting over near my armor. I have a foothold in that building now that I am using to prevent him from getting any fausts or schrecks near my tanks. The idea is to go from building to building. If there isn't a door between the buildings I'll blast my way through it. I'll keep moving until I can hopefully get a demo on the Panther or distract it enough to bring a tank over to take care of it. The good thing about that kind of advancing is if he has infantry in the building I'm moving into then the demo will put a major hurting on them. The bad thing is that he'll know I'm coming for his Panther. There will be no sneaking up on him. Side note: I've been doing a lot of moving through Berlin buildings with demo charges when playtesting scenarios on the Berlin maps. It's been a lot of fun. And, as mentioned above, it puts a hurting on anyone in a building that you're blasting into.....with the added benefit of not being seen by the unit in that building until you've blown a hole in the wall. So, they can't fire at you while you're setting up the blast. You just have to make sure someone is covering you from fire coming other directions.
  21. He tries to set up a 75mm Recoilless near where I got his Mark IV. The T34 I have in the area spotted them and ended the war for one man. I do not believe the gun was knocked out but I'll be keeping an eye on it. A slightly amusing things about this screenshot. Can you see the Hit messages by my 3 tanks? I've been getting a million of them. I rewatched turns over and over again to try to figure out who was plinking my armor so that I could shoot back at these hidden swine. I finally determined that the reason I could never figure out where the shots are coming from is because the are ricochets off the surrounding buildings! That is how many rounds are in the air.
  22. You'll notice that some of my infantry is faded. I imagine his is as well. Most of the fire has been from the 4 units to the right. The screenshots here are from the unit that is currently showing as a sound contact and the other 2 are from the unit at the "bottom" of the other 3. When I replay the movies of these fights, it is a constantly changing cycle of his units firing. Then cowering. And sometimes becoming casualties. My squads and teams are doing the same thing. Firing, cowering and sometimes becoming casualties. More frequently firing or cowering. His Panzer IV is the only thing that is giving him any advantage here. It isn't giving as much of an advantage as I would would thought though. My thought about that has been that he isn't using area fire and because my men go to ground the Mark IV may be losing it's LOS and stops trying to target me. When things switch, after I get his Panther, I will be using area fire almost exclusively. If I start worrying about running out of ammo I may use the Target Briefly command but I expect to still use only area fire. One thing that the screenshots do not show well is the amount of lead in the air.
  23. What I'm about to show has been going on for a few turns. It didn't begin with these screenshots and it still hasn't ended. Around the park by Berliner Weisse we've been having a battle of attrition that I don't think either of us is winning or losing. Here's an overview of the area.
