  1. The best would be if the game was capable of pushing out the score you would see in a ceasefire each turn. But CMx2 will never be able to do that. I think this may be the best workaround. Lord knows we talked about enough options while it was being coded.
  2. Yes. And, if I understand correctly, that is the case for all Matrix tournaments
  3. Could be.....I may change that. Correct, with PBEM++ they can't get the file.
  4. It can be. The funny thing is that I have left mine blank for a decade or more. I figured if some cheater tried to guess my password they may not guess no password. Also, no one needs to cheat to smoke me. I'm the easiest win that exists.
  5. Nope. The Challenges are people looking to play someone. If it has an * next to it then it needs a password set up by the person who created the Challenge. That's for things like if I said "Yo, Weapon2010, wanna play a game? I'll set it up with this password ". The Challenges without that are for people looking for a game and don't care who they play. Also, you don't have to check for your turns. You'll get an email notification when your opponent has sent their turns.
  6. Yes. You are playing both sides of the same battle. The bit that prompts for your user name, password and email address is your Matrix login. The other one can be left blank. PBEM++ is cheat proof.
  7. You're in. Go the the Saved Games area. Select the In Progress option from the dropdown menu. If you're not already logged in you will be prompted to log in. You'll see 1 or 2 files ready to be played. 2 if your opponent has already played their first turn.
  8. Surrender will give you the in game CM score for someone surrendering. Doesn't finish, the running score will be the final score. Never shows up, I believe is the same as if you don't have an opponent, 1,000 points for each battle. I will double check that on Tuesday. They are gone for the day and because of the holiday won't be back until Tuesday. No opponent because there is an odd number of players, 1,000 points. This tournament has an even number of players, so this shouldn't come into play.
  9. The player who causes the most casualties in a turn gets 3 points. The other player gets 1 point. The subsequent turns will add to those scores with the same 3 or 1 points. At the end of the battle, those scores will be replaced by the in game final score. This is why, unlike the last Cold War tournament you want to complete the battle now because the end score will be higher than the running score. The point of the running score is to give a loose sense of who is causing more casualties and does not reflect any of the in game victory conditions. Combat Mission was not built to push running scores for in game victory conditions. It would take re-writing a MASSIVE amount of code for it to do that. An amount of programming time that we would not spend.
  10. That is correct. If you purchased 2 copies in one order the key comes with 8 activations instead of 4.
  11. I don't understand what you are saying with the bolded bits. No one who has purchased a Battlefront has ever gotten the same key as anyone else who ever purchased a game from us. Never. Not with any Combat Mission title. Not with any Strategic Command game. Not with any Theater of War game etc etc etc. I don't understand what you are saying. .(psstt....it's in the original post. )
  12. Yup. That is what this part of the original post about getting Steam keys was saying:
  13. The people that will see this are folks whose purchase of the base game was with Game Engine 1. That used a different activation system than anything from Game Engine 2 on. I have a way around it though. It just takes a little voodoo ninja work. We were prepared for it.
  14. Anyone that gets this message should open a Help Desk ticket and we'll get you fixed up. https://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/
  15. Heya Runyon99!!!! I'll never forget that battle you thumped me in. It was huge and you tore me apart. Open a Help Desk ticket.
  16. Important: The key that is used to get you Steam key is your CMBN key.
  17. At Battlefront we've never used, although we understand, the expression DLC. For CMBN's release on Steam this Monday it refers to everything that is currently available. To eliminate any gray area.....The Steam release will have the Commonwealth and Markets Garden modules and the Vehicle Pack and Battle Pack 1 available for purchase on the 28th. If you currently own any of them, instructions for getting Steam keys, at no additional charge, for what you own will be posted on the 28th (spoiler alert....the instructions will look a lot like the CMSF2 redemption instructions)
  18. Excellent. And excellent question. Our sometimes coder Phil has been looking into this. The great thing about that is his computer experiences it! I'll run this by him and see if he has any ideas on what he can share. Thanks!!
  19. It seems the link to support was broken. It's been fixed. Here it is. : https://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/ Mention this thread and any key(s) that you're having trouble with.
  20. Well.......That was real weird. I got the same message (Chrome). I got a "new" link and replaced it and it now seems to work correctly. The "weird" part was that the link is exactly the same as what was there before. Regardless......It's back. Thanks for the heads up.
  21. Yes. The download is an all-in-one full game installer. People can join the tournament right up until the moment it starts.
  22. It is not too late at all. You can join the battle from within the game or the Matrix site: https://www.matrixgames.com/tournaments
  23. Good luck! And by "good luck" i mean that I hope you draw me. Everyone who plays against me slaughters me.
