Well the best pilot when I came around was Kuori. When he MIA'd, Skuderian was for a brief time. Then it was a guy who tries to get people to believe sheep are more molested in Australia than New Sheepland, Then CSS came along and tore up the chart. Then it was the sexy guy with the 1,000 kills before anyone with the cute puppy. Now, the designer of the Tobruk campaign, that will come out in expansion pack 36 along with the Samoan Airforce at his rate of doing stuff, has widened his lead. But remember this game is a collection of good pilots. Stalin do you remember when Kevin Verssen taught you how to exit the Death Due You Part Tournament? But alas my gf almost beat Mistura in round one too. I should have matched you and her and watched her shoot you down! So do you want to risk your pilot after I get rid of Brides pilot on release day?

Actually your record would only count if it was the same pilot.

Flying La-7's vs 4 bombers or a bomber and Me-262's vs a La-7 is not what I would call easy. And I believe you did the same there Mike-e-poo. I think I got credit for shooting down planes in customs with Sadahara 4 times. Rest I 0'd out But as soon as I finish off Bride I am sure I can find room to shoot down Algy too!

Now we have Bride close to 2000 kills because he snuck in the back door while I was designing the wonderful campaigns you will all get soon in the East Front Expansion Pack. You also have to look at how many missions he had to fly to do it.... Next time you see him ask him how the research is going for the Tobruk Campaign..... We also have Buffy who is about to join the exclusive 1,000 kills club of which I dont know if you know, but I was the first person to 1000 kills. Just applaud silently please. But what I really came here to do is come and let all of you know that yesterday I achieved what can only be looked at as amazing. Yes I got my 100th Medal called an Order of the Golden Kite 4th Grade, which you only get by sweeping the skiles of enemy aircraft. Yes thats 4 kills for you guys out there in TV Land. So to sum it up 1000 kills first, 100 elite medals before anyone, and gosh darnit if I am not so sexy to boot! Thank god I dont have to mention how cute my puppy is too!

Right Brian but therein lies an issue I hadnt thought of. It penalizes you unfairly for say an elite pilot dying as opposed to someone who is much lower down the totem pole. Maybe if you are going to implement this you should think of a cap number so the penalty isnt so out of proportion. Truthfully I never think I will die as my best pilot doesnt have to face off with the Me-262 Thank you Japan for allying with Germany and not the Allies! But every mainstream RPG I have ever played doesnt take away your skills if you die, just your gold and experience (except for hardcore Diablo 2).

Ya I agree with Paul. Taking away kills and damages isnt logical. Taking away buying power is one thing, adding fatigue would be logical, but taking away stats just wouldnt be fun. I mean I so rarely die as it is, but taking away 120 of my kills would make me want to quit. Also part of the fun for me is fearing dying. It takes away from the core game because some of the newer players lose thier pilots. I mean if you look at the ladder only a few players over 200 kills has even ever died. I lost lots of pilots before I learned to properly play. Losing a pilot with 100 kills isnt much of an investment, as they get better they will come to understand that. I would rather we figure out a way to match squadrons against eachother so people become more involved. Thats one of the things thats missing. But I dont back down from my pay to revive theory. A few bucks to save a loved pilot isnt much. Its costlier to buy a cup of coffee or give to a save the children organization.

Hey Hog, step away from the keyboard, take a deep breath, have a beer, grab some chips, and check out my previous intel. The game from all indications is still a go, you just need to wait till a certain programmer has time to do an outside project called Combat Mission: Shock Force. Thats the meat and potatos for Battlefront so it takes priority. When I can get some more intel from Dan, I will certainly pass it on. I will say it took DIF 4 years to make, so 2 years isnt that long. Sua Sponte

Actually I think DIF should be able to compete with other online games. This kind of pricing model has proven to work. Also you have to remember that this game has been out about a year already. Sales arent like say Warcraft or even CM for that matter. So any added revenue will help prolong the life of the game. Besides, it isnt a requirement to buy your pilots life back. You dont die, theres no worries mate!

Well the game isnt vapor ware, just a little game called Down In Flames took longer than expected and the programmer for MNB is working hard on CM:SF. I would imagine buying DIF and its expansion would certainly help speed the progress of this game up! Just a little hint.... -Ray

I am absolutely positively Sixxkillerly AGAINST losing a skill to revive a pilot. I also remember Dan was against reviving pilots before. I am thinking maybe there should be a fee in real world money to resurrect your pilot. Maybe price it as follows.... Over 250 kills $2.50 Over 100 kills $1.50 Over 50 kills $1.00 Under 50 Free

Lots of RPG's penalize for deaths. I wouldnt be opposed but I would point out that seeing as how the whole point of playing ladder games is to become one of the top pilots, there will be no way to even come close to catching Bride unless SOMEONE can bait him into playing and shoot him down like the evil German pilot he is. I also think we need a new ladder season just for the expansion, that way everyone starts out on the same foot. I guess we could conceed Brides dominance, my sexiness, and Stalins perversions with the wool communities.

Victory conditions for Steve seem to hinge on him training his MG teams to break down the tripod quicker. You have been demoted Steve, now get in that door knocker thingy and RTB.
