  1. QB Pbem vs Nidan. Two KVs and two 34's in deep snow. 1 KV boggs turn one in hide position, usless. 2nd boggs behind a house with no LOS to objective, again usless. One T34 boggs in road, again no LOS. Other T34 boggs on objective and is quickly killed by Nidan's tanks. Infantry now unsupported while his armor and troops close in. And I though Soviet stuff was supposed to be good in snow.
  2. King's conversion is great. It is every bit as fun as the original.
  3. Except when you send your pioneers into a building to close assault an enemy squad and they use their demo charges and bring down the house on their own heads. I wish you could tell them not to use things that will get them killed.
  4. With the type of firepower the U.S. is able to put into an operation we could send all our light divisions into Syria and expect success. It would take longer to get there but there would still be little that the Syrians could do about it. Unlike many third world soldiers, Western soldiers have little concern for things like proving their manhood by charging machine-gun fire in the name of "fill in name here." If there is something they can't shoot then let the Air Force or arty or a cruise missile or whatever do the job. For the Syrians there just isn't that option. The notion that the Syrians can handle any determined attack from a Western power is foolish. They might have some tactical success that the media will over hype but the outcome will never be in doubt, at least from a military stand point.
  5. LSSAH ended up being comitted to the fighting around Bastogne but who's to say were every piece of equipment ended up. Things sent to repair shops are likely to be snatched up by anyone who feels they have a need.
  6. I use Tank hunter teams all the time. You have to get the tank alone as far as LOS goes. Sometimes the AT teams will get a kill with the first shot but more often than not it will miss and be identified and fired on by everyone. You either need to distract the other firers or catch the target alone.
  7. Oh, at least once more. The Syrians will have to pull into restricted terrain. Anything else will be suicidal. There will be no great ruse but there might be something similar to the "Battle of Bloody Ankles" from GW1.
  8. I don't know if seeing a jar sitting in front of a keyboard would really do much for the average CM'er. Maybe if they showed a couple beer cans floating around in his goo.
  9. Why do you think we are so cranky all the time. Not enough, sleep, sex, or money. And this game and forum don't help any of those.
  10. Uh yeah, AAMRAM is the uh French term for it, yeah that's it.
  11. At first glance I thought the one in the first photo was a museum display. Looks rather shiney. Guess it is just a photo quality thing.
  12. Interesting that on a poll looking for 25 to 30 year olds only us old farts have responded so far (37 btw). I like some RTS games but I kind of got tired of being "out moused" by the computer. I think CM gives you about the best balance that can be achieved right now. Once they perfect subcommanders that can follow my orders maybe I'll change my mind.
  13. So you're saying the world economy functions on free porn!!!
  14. By the way, is anyone actually working out there? How the hell does the world economy keep going?
  15. So I guess this is another plug for female soldiers in the game.
  16. I refuse to believe that there are people outside this forum.
  17. I believe Lybia is more of a tourist attraction as well. {cue rimshot}
  18. I believe the AAMRAM has a home on radar or jam capability but I have never heard of it being used as an anti-radiation missile.
  19. I recall something like this several years ago but I have no idea how advanced it ever got. I know they are still working on something like this for tanks but I don't know if they are still serious about small-arms.
  20. I guess we could get into the numerology. Which one is the "better" number 5.56 or 7.62?
  21. One thing to remember is that rolling is rare enough, even in a vehicle with a bad rep, that it is still big news.
  22. MD, what I said was that there is no doctrine one way or the other. The goal is to render the enemy combat ineffective. If that means killing him so be it, wounding, fine, making flee in terror, that works too. The SF CQB course calls it aiming for the "bowling pin." Center mass and up through the head. Put a shot in there and you will stop the bad guys nearly every time. If he dies or not is not part a consideration but a good hit makes it very likely that he will. Speaking of SF, all the ones I worked with, 1 SFG and 2nd Ranger Bat. in Lewis and several Delta operators elsewhere, used personalized versions of the M4. The Delta guys can use whatever they want and most still use the M4 with as many bells and whistles as they can fit on it. As I said earlier, I actually prefer the German G3 but I loved my M4.
