RE: Retro Fit of CMBN QB Maps.
I actually gave it some thought... I'd have to re-do Hundreds of maps for the base game and three modules. To bring it up to current specs requires more than wiping off some AI arty orders but a whole renaming and description re-organization as well. That would entail more hours than I can spare.

I've made a few maps if that's the criteria for having an opinion. Shock Force has already shown CMx2 capable of desert warfare. Armor fans would love the chance to see a Matilda earn her title of "Queen of the battlefield" one year and then lose it the next when Rommel unleashes his 88's. The thing about the Western Desert is the clarity of technological advance from 1940 to 1942. And for the Infantry it was a time when the anti tank rifle was feared right along with the 2 pounder AT gun. And don't forget the uniforms.

ok after a 2nd investigation the bug is only with the M4A3(75)W, all other Rhino variants are fine.The strange thing is on the M4A3(75)W only, you can see the forks at about level 7, but then they disappear below that, only being able to see the shadows of them
confirmed and reported. You may also notice that it is only happens at a specific view...move in or out slightly and the blades return

CMAK was my absolute favorite of the fist series so I am hoping for a CM2x version some day. I realize it is less popular but I am hoping that once they move back in time on the eastern front they will find that they already have most of the vehicle models ready and then they can think about reusing as much as possible and consider doing it.
That is my hope, it is a long way off probably.
And it is my favorite, too. I hope that BFC will introduce North Africa 1940-42 and a module of NA and Tunisia 1943 when the Next CM Engine is introduced. The Region offers the type of terrain that BFC used when introducing the CMx2 engine. Simple to produce compared to any other battlefield BFC offers.

AI Force selection and AI orders are a QB Priority for all of us. I have a number of wishes involving arty/mines/wire/and pill box setups too. I can assure you that BFC is very aware of players wish list.

Indeep During Human purchase of the AI forces a player can use the editor F1-F9. Group commands! So I tried two test:
The first map offered 8 specific group setups. I selected a platoon and broke them into 2,3,8 groups (avoiding the default group 1) and ended up with all units setup in Group 7 (notice I did not select that order group) So I did another Map with 5 groups and purchased a company and used group 1 and 2 . All units again want to just one group...4! What bothers me most is that all units went to just one group setup.
I test each QB to make sure group setups and orders are functional and always note the AI tries to fill the setup groups. So these results seem to be a negative unintended consequence. I'll leave you to be the judge as it's your choice/style of play.

Well you learn something every day. I normally allow the AI total control of selection units. How do you know how many slots are available?

I assume you are speaking of an human vs AI QB match.
Once a human player picks the AI forces all control of placement and orders is handled by the AI.

Hi Canada Guy: I'm the guy responsible for CMRT QB Maps. I looked at the Open-Rough Meet 036 Map. The Objective is a Huge "I" shape that covers a very large portion of the map. The AI pathing would be hard pressed to miss hitting the objective. But as I look at that map I cringe. The work I've produced for CMFB is a whole other level altogether.

Can these changes be patched to Black sea also? I play almost nothing but quick battles.
The next module for Black sea will introduce the description changes I've made but not necessarily with the base game QB Maps that already exist. The changes that BFC has made to improve the TOE selection and game play will no doubt be included for the base game and the module as that's their policy.

Mark (Marz...God of war) Ezra (Hebrew ..."Helper") so I'm under a curse. By the way... I'm still making CMFB maps so there will be a few more.
By the way I get a lotta help from the Scen Designers, Master Map Makers, Campaign Designers, and of course BFC. Always a Team effort and I'm proud to be a member of this community.
