  1. There is no real difference in performance. Raw files are much easier for the mod author to handle, especially if there are hundreds or thousands or them, or lots or variants. Brzs add work, and have to be redone every time something changes. The only advantage a brz has is that the end user has just a single file to install (and uninstall), which can be useful (and much more simple) if you change mods often. However people who change mods often are those most likely to want to mix-and-match items, and they almost always un-brz the files anyway...
  2. Here are the raw .psd files for the couple of people interested: www.captskidd.com/cmfi/CMFI-altsil-v2.zip I hope to upload a corrected mod tomorrow after some final testing tonight.
  3. Go for it, guys. But seriously, if anybody is wanting to do a revision of my mod - PLEASE email me and ask for the layered .psd files! Got to be a lot less work. I've already done all that stuff so why recreate it?
  4. The clock in CMFI is in white, so without the oval the time is invisible.
  5. Looks like I messed up the URL: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/4953/details
  6. CMFI + Gustav Alternate Silhouettes v2(beta) uploaded to CM Mods. http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/4953/details XC: Avant: Red-Green: Full red-green-colourblind support. I have redone almost every silhouette to make the colours and symbols more consistant. Some of the bglow options are AWOL, and will probably stay that way unless someone actually asks for them. (Gustav doubled the total number of silhouettes, and made this a big job.) CMBN+CW V2 is now nearly ready too, thanks to this one. This mod might have some small errors due to being a bit rushed, and huge. Please contact me (via email) if you find anything. I will hold off posting to the repository for a bit untill I know it is stable.
  7. Whatever. Am compiling all the bits and checking for forgotten bits. Hope to post on CM Mods tonight.
  8. After *much* work I have the plain, avant, old, rg, range, xc and xw sets done in coloured and black. That still leaves 7 sets of bglow to go. The options are: 1) ditch bglow and release very soon. 2) release without bglow and update when they're done. 3) wait for completion. I'm inclined towards 2) but my worry is that since I've just been called up for more textures the update might be rather delayed. However if several people come back and say they want bglow, I'll put in a big push and go for complete.
  9. The weapons part is in testing. Still generating some vehicle silhouettes. If you want to help test, send me an email (with details of what variant you use.)
  10. Updated version for V1.10 and Gustav Line. Available right now at CM Mods Warehouse: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods?author_id=419&game_type=6 I've also uploaded it to the repository. It will turn up eventually.
  11. Are you by any chance using Vin's animated text mod? If you are, you need to remove it because it isn't compatible with GL. A new version is required (and pending).
  12. I'm working on it guys. Was doing official textures almost up to the last minute, so this private mod is delayed. I expect to have something together by the weekend. Putting in the CW mod as a stopgap will only help so far, since there are several new weapons and some name changes. Also, don't use any of the CMBN/CW interface & special equipment items, because they are different sizes/shapes in CMFI.
  13. No, I'm trying to give a useful rule-of-thumb from a parabolic data set that varies with a whole heap of variables. yes, and, don't know. If you wish to delve into arcane mathematics we should do so elsewhere instead of hijacking this thread.
  14. Marco was busy doing Sherman etc textures. It is well underway and I hope to get people testing it after next weekend. People who are desperate to test should send me a private email. (If you fail that test, you're out of luck.)
  15. 38mm at 55 degrees is far less armour than 60mm at 60 degrees. Effectively 82mm vs 176mm, roughly half.
  16. BFC uses the slope effect calculations from the Bird/Livingston book WWII Balistics: Armour and Gunnery. I have used a majority of these calculations in the spreadsheet used to generate the silhouette figures, assuming equal elevation and a 75mm gun firing. Figures for the Hetzer are: 176, 26, 18 176, 26, 18 88, 20, 20 Side angle can be estimated as increasing the armour figure by the percentage equal to the angle, at 30 degrees. I.E. at 30 degrees offset, armour value is approx 130%. Below 30, the effect rapidly drops away to zero. Above 30 the effect is parabolic, increasing with armour thickness. Just assume that hits on the side at 60 degrees should deflect. Changes in elevation can have a big effect on sloped armour. M10 hull front with 5 degree elevation goes from 82 to 99. However, vertical armour isn't really affected. Pz IVH hull front at 5 degrees elevation goes from 81 to 83.
  17. M10 almost safe at 2000m. Pz IVH unsafe at 2000m. But the range is much less than that, so both are in danger.
  18. After I finish texture work, hopefully by the end of the week, I'll be working on the silhouette mod.
  19. Well, my memory is faulty. No new thingys, no new names. I have v2.01 installed with the standard CW add-on and am getting silhouettes for both King Tiger and Lynx. The only thing I can think of is that you have left-over mod files somewhere that are overwriting these two? Please try another option brz from the CW set (just for testing) and see if the vehicles have silhouettes then. If they do, then there's a fault with the option brz you've got installed.
  20. Do you have the upgrade to v2? - I seem to recall that those two vehicles got remodelled and reskinned in the v2 upgrade. Maybe they changed the silhouette names, because they certainly used to work. I'll have to check tonight.
  21. V1b Adds the missing bazooka/pzschreck icons for Weapons-Aid-Plain. If you have already downloaded this, the tiny Weapons-aid-plain fix file (38k) is available at http://www.captskidd.com/cmfi/weapons-aid-v1-plain-plain.zip
  22. This is a surprise. You're the first person to report this. yup - this: http://www.captskidd.com/cmfi/weapons-aid-v1-plain-plain.zip I'll update the archives later today.
  23. I will be uploading this to the repository this weekend, now that it has been tested.
  24. Okay, looks like just one missing silhouette. I'll fix that today, let Vencini double check, and hopefully it'll be up in the depository around the end of the weekend. Since the fix is tiny I'll put the fix file on my website for those who downloaded already.
