Sorry, no clue. You'll have to contact CDV support. I don't even know what kind of copy protection they were using. (Are you sure it's not simply a cd-in-drive copy protection?)
-
That depends on when and how you purchased it. Probably the quickest test you can do is to try running the game without the CD in drive. If it works, then you probably have a version with a key. If you purchased from Battlefront, then submit a support ticket at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk. We can dig out keys going back to about 2006.
If you purchased after Oct 1, 2007 however, then check out the Knowledgebase at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk about how to retrieve your key from your customer account.

Since you have posted the content of my reply, it is prudent to post a copy of the entire email that triggered this response as well:
Your Website stated that this would be released prior to the end of Feb.Clearly, this has not been done.
Refund my money!
I don't think any further comments are needed.

Yes, this is still the case. How much earlier than the general public varies from case to case. Sometimes it's only a few hours, sometimes nearly a day.
I cannot say right now when exactly we'll be able to launch. We still have server maintenance going on since yesterday and we'll have a date once that is over.

No, tankski, it's not skipping any pages. Look at the page numbers in the document itself and you'll see that all pages are shown.
PT Boats and Theatre of War are games we publish from completely different developers.
If you have the Theatre of War game, you have 90% of the manual right there to read up on game mechanics, and it should be fairly easy to supplement the remaining 10% from the complete online manual.

Yes, you will have to re-run the 1.21 patch again since by installing Marines and Brits, you will downgrade to 1.20 at least.
Martin
-
A full manual (printed for mail deliveries, PDF for downloads) is included with the full game.
All pages appear for viewing. Since you can see 4 pages (2 double pages) at the same time, going to "page 3" doesn't make sense, as you are already looking at that page.

First week in March.

Actually, the demo of CMSF is not encrypted anyway, so as I said before, this is pointing to something else entirely on your system then the usual suspects.
Have you tried uninstalling the demo and reinstalling from scratch?
-
Actually, the CMSF demo is not using eLicense. So if you are getting the same problem on the full game as well as the demo, this points to a different problem entirely.
With DEP, it never hurts to go in and set it to "block Windows essential programs only" anyway and save and reboot.
The only other possible cause as far as I can tell from your description would be your anti-virus software. It may not be able to decode our hacker protection for the game and is flagging it as spam. This is the only explanation for why the runservice.exe file may be missing from your Windows folder in fact if you really have UAC off. Set an exception for the game and/or disable your AV temporarily.
Lastly, are you sure you have the Battlefront version of the game at all?

I pre-ordered yesterday. Just wanted to double check if purchasing with Battlefront.com was safe as I never dealt with them before. Secure purchasing. That's good.
Suggestion. Have a customer service phone number. I feel much more comfortable talking to a person sometimes than corresponding with a stranger through email.
Thanks for your feedback, geofighter. Ordering is secure with us, we have hundreds of thousands of customers who have purchased games from us in the past 11+ years that Battlefront exists and is selling games.
We do not offer phone service because it would tie up too many resources in order to be of any use. We are only a handful of full time employees most of whom are busy making games. We do offer online support including an online support chat at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk.

Unfortunately I really don't remember The game had a bunch of charts and an actual tabletop board from what I recall, perhaps it's there and not in the rulebook. Of course the possibility exists that I simply remember wrong. I do remember playing around with loadouts for sure, but now I am beginning to doubt if they were historical or not...
-
I seem to remember that the boardgame "Patton's Best" (I *think* from Avalon Hill but I'm not 100% certain) had charts for average loadouts for different types of Shermans. How accurate those were I have no clue. I'd post an example but I can't find my copy, dang....

Here's one: Centauro provides an additional angle on the combat in North Africa in 1943, and as such is an extension to the Tow 2 Africa 1943 game. Kursk is a completely different theater entirely (east front) and is therefore a completely new game.

KvP, we use a server network (called a server cloud) with locations all over the world to serve our full game downloads. This is expensive but it ensures unlimited bandwidth (literally) and 100% uptime. We haven't had any download speed issues (related to our own hosting at least) since we began using this service. I don't think any one single server would have been able to sustain any one of our past releases all by itself

Hi guys,
yes, there will be a notification via email for those that signed up as well as a public list posted on the EOS Tourney site. We're currently in the process of collecting registrations and will send out one batch of notifications. That's easier to handle

First week of march specifically
-
Is there a chance that we can at least get a hint on when that may be
Due to the server maintenance planned for Feb 28, it will be the first week of March.
Martin
-
Oh no, but at least we know when now
The other bright side of this is that there will be no delay this time between the download release and the shipping of hardgoods. We are now able to prepare all the hardgoods materials for pre-order customers in advance, so the shipping will begin only a few days after the downloads are launched (instead of the usual 1-2 weeks later).
-
When you place a pre-order, the amount is charged immediately. There is actually a blurb on the order page explaining this, and it is one of the reasons why we are only opening pre-orders a few weeks before the actual release, and only after we have a very firm grip on the release timing.
Having said that, I have a little bit of bad news for you guys. We intended to release the game this month, but our network provider has crossed the plans by scheduling a major server maintenance for the end of Feb. We do not want to be caught with a new release just at the time when our servers and network may become inaccessible for some periods of the day (Feb 28, March 1), and so have moved the release up to the first week of March.

Your key and all other order details are saved in your customer account at www.battlefront.com/store. After logging in, click on "My Account" from the top menu. If you forgot the login, go to www.battlefront.com/lostpw to retrieve a new random password and your username by email (the username is called "user account" in the email).
Note: Keys are stored in the online account only for downloadable product. If you ordered "mail only delivery", then the key is actually printed on a label on the product itself (usually the back of the box or manual, sometimes inside) and is not stored in the online account. Mail keys are usually 15 digits while downloadable keys are 32 digits.
-
Baron, the download period extension is not game specific if that's what you mean. It applies to all Battlefront games. It should be noted however that it's an EXCEPTION. Generally, we do not offer digital storage for the games we sell, so customers are responsible for their own backup copies (or of course they can order the download+mail delivery ) But due to the amount of requests we have introduced this temporary solution.
Martin
-
For people who forgot to make a backup copy, we offer a one-time $5 extension of the download period. Submit a ticket at the www.battlefront.com/helpdesk. Include the title, and your previous license key (it will be deactivated, you'll get a new one)

Yes, all pre-order customers get an email when the download is ready, usually a few hours before the official announcements are made. Make sure you whitelist sales@battlefront.com.
