Phil will have to comment on that as he programmed it, but I believe that he had to break things in the game in order to make it work with the broken nVidia stuff

Submit a support ticket at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk please.

Are you sure that the installation went into the correct directory then? The installer tries to anticipate the correct path to install to but it's not 100% failsafe, especially if you changed the default path or if you have a different version of CMSF (not from Battlefront). Have a look at how the files are arranged in your CMSF folder.

Sure, submit a support ticket there.

If you get the problem in the demo, then this indicates something else entirely than the usual issues with licensing (because the demo does not use licensing). As such, the DEP settings or DEP or firewalls will not solve the issue most likely, because they are not the problem. Seems to me to be some kind of hardware of driver problem (most likely), or (less likely) installation issue (wrong path), or incompatible mods or hotkeys.txt file.

If you haven't done so already, please submit a support ticket at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk.

Hi ScoutPL! I'm interested, too
Videos would be great and could be posted to our YouTube channel if you like.

Besides the antivirus/firewall angle that c3k suggests, another problem could also be as simple as an incompatible mod or a messed up hotkeys.txt file. Have you tried undinstalling and reinstalling?

Are you launching with full admin rights (if you have User Access Control enabled, which it is by default)?

From Charles:
Not a bug.
I don't have that scenario so I couldn't do the exact test, but I set up a similar one and Iron visual C2 was working correctly.
The "test" for visual C2 is more stringent in Iron than in Elite. In Elite, all friendlies are assumed to "easily and immediately see" all friendlies unless there is a really obvious reason that should not be the case (like a big wall between them). It's as forgiving and easy a test as you can imagine.
The "iron" test for visual C2 is more "real". It actually makes the HQ and the subordinate unit "spot" each other. Just having clear LOS is not enough. You need to succeed in spotting, and it must be mutual - HQ must spot subordinate and subordinate must spot HQ. And spotting is not 100% certain to succeed even with clear LOS. Dim light, smoke, haze, being under fire/distracted by combat, morale, angle off your forward vision, poor quality troops -- there are lots of reasons you could fail to spot someone. And sometimes it just takes a little time. The spotting eventually succeeds but not immediately. And that's all that's happening in his example.

Yes, reinstallation may be a good idea as your anti-virus may have simply removed some critical files (specifically, the runservice.exe file from the Windows directory).

Did you see the Stickied thread in the Opponent Finder forum? There is a live chat feature (as part of the browser toolbar). Also, only the threads from the last seven days are shown in the OppFinder forums by default. You can change this.

Please check our Knowledgebase at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk. If you run a search for ZoneAlarm, you may find a couple of things to try and stop it from interfering with the game launch. Also, make sure that you use the option "Run as admin" for your first launch. But, it does sound like a ZA issue.

Are you SURE it's the right patch? Where did you get it from?

What Vanir said. Additionally, our main site has never been working properly with IE6 due to a bug in IE6 with handling transparent image (PNG) files. We have been blocking certain IE6 browser versions for some time now. There are plenty of free upgrade choices (IE7 or 8, even 9 beta is public now), and other free browser options (firefox, opera etc.) so there is no reason to be using IE6, at all.
BTW, Windows versions and IE versions have nothing to do with each other. I have been running XP on one of mine with IE7, no problems (although admittedly, there are many bugs in IE8 with anything else but Vista or newer)

OK, I'll check with 1C. The update should be there.
-
No ETA yet but we're working on it (in fact, probably a 1.31 for everyone).
-
Are you guys using Internet Explorer 9 beta by chance? Make sure you have compatibility mode on. Also, there simply may be a bug with it. Try a different browser.

It is (up to 25 first characters of it, to be precise) if your account was auto-created when you placed an order. This isn't true if you registered an account manually. The 'username' is called 'user account' in the email.

We have an extensive Knowledgebase about the Repository (and a lot of other stuff) at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk. There is a link to it from the Repository page (plus a random article is shown when the page loads).
To answer your question: the Repository requires a main site/store login. Your forum login won't work there. There is a link to register an account or retrieve a new password (and your username) on the Repository page (upper left hand corner). For your convenience, here is the link to retrieve the login for the main site/repository/store: http://www.battlefront.com/lostpw

Our Weblinks section, while growing, may be a good first start:

Txema,
patching in Kursk is done via the Auto-Updater, and you can patch the Battlefront version without problems. The 1.3.1 patch is released separately because there was a bug with the auto-updater from what I recall which needed to be fixed in it.
64 Bit Windows 7 Not Supported?
in PT Boats
Posted
You should download the demo (www.battlefront.com/demos) and try it for yourself. Many 64 bit systems DO WORK (as mentioned in the system requirements). Some don't. The best way to find out if yours does is to try the demo.
Oh, btw... South Gambit was just released today
I don't have the word yet if there will be a new demo for that or not, though, but you can always try the PT Boats demo (if that works, then SG will work, too).
