I'd preorder CMC right now, if I had the chance.

Sounds pretty similar to the way it was handled in IL-2. If a modder provided a high quality 3D model and cockpit 1C would provide the flight model and integrate it in a patch.

I couldn't open the "Following the Euphrates" one. Who's the other one testing this one? Any luck there?
-
I'd be willing to do it. How long is the scenario? It's against the AI, right? I'd prefer to play RT if that's ok.

A book that some might appreciate, free online

Most of the terms are explained at the end of the book itself, e.g. DAG. The symbols are mostly Soviet, not NATO, which requires some getting used to. -
Can't deploy Javelins in scenario editor
tankibanki replied to cbelva's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
You are absolutely right, I actually think both should really be possible. Moreover one should be able to control vehicle and squad inventory like in CMx1. I was just trying to find ways to work with what we have right now until this is worked out. Reading my posts again they don't sound very friendly, so I apologise for that, in case anyone got offended. I agree that my solution only works in some situations. In addition I'm not very happy with the default QBs, so right now I'm going to download some more. So far I've only used the QBG ones for PBEMs, they were excellent. P.S.: By the way, is there a reason why TSD2 doesn't have a CMSF section? -
Can't deploy Javelins in scenario editor

Yes, there is probably no way to get it to work in QBs right now. I'm not sure about being able to setup after baking, but I guess you are right there, too. -
Can't deploy Javelins in scenario editor
tankibanki replied to cbelva's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
That is not correct, I just tried what I suggested and it worked. Anyone who wants proof can send me a message and I'll email the scenario. Just play as red and don't issue any orders. After about one minute the Javelins will come pouring in. -
how can you get crews back to guns etc.???
tankibanki replied to steve maul's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
It's something different in operations though. I was greatly surprised when one of my guns that was abandoned in the previous battle was back in the following one. I have no idea what determines whether this happens or not. -

I thought it was possible to aquire Javelins when you "bake" a scenario, but I've never tried it either. -
Mission: Death on the Sand
tankibanki replied to the Fighting Seabee's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Ok, I liked it for what it is, a short and easy mission, plays out like a movie, not much work to do in the positive and in the negative sense. Firstly I had to rename the file (used v1.1) because the extension was ".1btt" instead of ".btt". I got a total victory in 20 minutes despite losing 3 Abrams. In my opinion you should give red additional points for M1 kills. Without revealing too much I first though that it was a too straighforward mission, but you do have a nice little surprise in there. As you said yourself the action starts immediately. I prefer the setup zones and reinforcements not to be in enemy LOS. The terrain is a little too flat for my taste. I wonder why the Iraqi commander couldn't find a better place to set up his defense. I took note of the mines from the briefing, did you design the riverbed/mines the way you did on purpose? The battle is good for a nice little R&R and to watch some fireworks. You could tweak some minor things to make it more challenging, e.g. award extra points to red for kills, change the terrain a little to allow ambushes, give red some artillery if you want (even though the AI doesn't use it very effectively) and maybe do something about the minefield. Thanks for the scenario, I enjoyed it. Hope you're having fun designing more. -
Mission: Death on the Sand
tankibanki replied to the Fighting Seabee's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Downloading now. Looking forward to trying it out. First I didn't find it by designer because I didn't look for "the...". But it's easy to find it in the newest upload section. -
does CMBB run slow for anyone here?
tankibanki replied to sargemy's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
My new PC runs CMBB perfectly. On the old one large scenarios caused some stuttering. That could sometimes be helped by turning off trees. -
Bring back the control arrows to the GUI
tankibanki replied to Molotov Cocktail's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I concur, at first I didn't get to grips with the new system but soon I started trying to use the CMSF camara controls in CMBB and CMAK. I totally agree about the orders as well. -

Is it possible to model an Iranian conflict?

Can't you give both sides air support in a Blue vs Blue battle, then change it to Red vs Red? -

record the replay with fraps.

Link doesn't work for me
-
I have been able to record in CMSF with fraps. All default settings.
-
I tried the scenario and didn't have any problems with it. However I manually assigned targets to my units.
-
There are hotkeys for the tabs: e.g. B for move, G for combat, but I can't remember them all, especially in the heat of battle. It would be useful if the hotkey was written on the tab.

Some easy to implement improvements

I just noticed there is already a suggestions thread. Some of my points are in there already. Please let this one die.
