  1. Where else can you call a person a jerk and it be taken as a compliment?
  2. It does not allow you to put the directories in a "safe life", but you can add "exe" files to a exception list for unauthorized changes. I previously add the "CM Shock Force.exe" and the "CMSF Marine Module.exe" to the list. Per you post, I added the "Runservice.exe" file too. However, I see no change. Yes it is only the Marine Module affected.
  3. Yesterday I reported that after applying the new patch I lost my marine module. After some advice I deactived my anti-virus program (Trend Micro Pro) and reinstalled the patch. Presto, my marine module was back. Life was good. Today I went back and found the Marine module missing again. After experienting I found that when I deactivate my anti-virus program, the marine module is activated. When I turn it on, it disapears. Any advice on what to do would be appreciated.
  4. Ok--Problem solved. When you said to turn off virus protection a light clicked on in my head. I didn't before installing the patch. I never had that problem in the past. Appartently the patch does not like my anti-virus program. I turn off the anti-virus and my firewall and reinstalled. It is now recognizing my marine module. Thanks for your replies.
  5. Phil--I have the BFC version. Schrullenhaft--I was at version 1.20. My "receipt.txt" file show license for both the base and the marine. I will try what you suggested. Now, when I select "unlicense combat mission shock force" will it unlicense both the base game and the marine module? I don't see a selection for unlicensing the marine model. Thanks.
  6. Ok, this is frustrating. I installed the v1.21 patch, I selected the correct module (base game + marine module) and it deactived my marine module. I have reinstalled the patch 3 times each time selecting the correct drop down menu module. I have read thru all the other threads on this and found nothing like this. Most people seem to have their problem resolved after reinstalling the patch. Yes, the Marine module was installed and properly e-licensed before installing the patch. Thanks for any help.
  7. I was with one of the first units to go through the National Training Center. Our second day there, some of the trainers took a few of us up on a mountain overlooking the valley where the NTC sat. Way off in the distance we saw literally thousands of sparkly lights reflecting off the valley floor. The trainers told us that the lights was our Brigade. It was the sun reflecting off the goggles the soldiers had positioned on the front of their helmets. We immediately went down and had our soldiers remove them from their helmets. Whenever we were not wearing them, we worn them around our necks. That was part of an important lesson we learned--how to blend into the desert. Since, I have been out of the army for some time, I don't know the current procedure for wearing goggles. But unless technology has changed and the glass on the goggles don't reflect sunlight or some other procedure, I would think that the wearing of goggles on the helmet would still be wrong. I thought I would pass this on. I would like to hear from someone with more recent experence regarding this.
  8. I have the same quesiton. It has been asked several times, but I have not seen an answer regarding to this. I would think that this is a problem in setting certain types of scenarios. Could someone please address this. If it can be done ok. However, the manual should be corrected to reflect this. Thanks
  9. It was pointed out in an old post prior to version 1.2 that the Acquire function was not implemented in the scenario editor while placing units on the map. Without it, you cannot select things such as Javelins. Per the manual, this should be a feature that is implemented. Rigth now, the Acquire button is not even available in the scenario editor. Hopefully this will be corrected in version 1.4.
  10. Hey Pete, I would like a copy of the map. cbelva@yahoo.com Thanks
  11. The following is a quote from page 119 of the manual under Unit Deployment in the scenario editor: Deployment Commands During Deployment mode a limited number of Commands are available for each unit type, mainly related to administrative tasks. MOVE, FACE, HIDE, ACQUIRE, DISMOUNT, DEPLOY WEAPON, SPLIT TEAM, ASSAULT TEAM, ANTITANK TEAM "Acquire, Deply weapon, split team, assault team, and antitank team" are not available in the current release/built of the game. In fact the button for them are not present in the command tabs. Apparently this is a bug that needs to be corrected.
  12. At least in the scenario editor it does not work. There is no "Acquire" option while deploying units on map in the editor.
  13. I am trying to set up a scenario with dismounted infantry with javelins, however, there is no way to "acquire" the javelins in the scenario editor. You start the scenario and durng setup have the infantry squads load load into to Bradleys, acquire the javelins, and then repositions them. However, I need to do this during in the scenario editor. Am I missing something? This should be added to the features that need to be added to the editor.
  14. Does not appear to be a way to delete a saved game fale within the program. I used window explorer and went into the saved game folder for CMSH and deleted them that way. I don't know why you can't see the saved game files, I can see mine.
  15. First, CMSF reminds me of then CMBO was first relased. The different is that even in its initial state and it's glitches, CMBO had set the bar high. This time, BFC is completing against itself. With the glitches in CMSF, I am still enjoying the game and look forward to watching it evolve. I primarily play WEGO so my questions/comments will relate to WEGO play. In setup, it is basically the order phase for the first turn. I have noticed that you can't give a facing command to a unit at the end of its movement command like you can in preceding turns. Appears to be a bug. In CMx1 you could tell what the terrain was by holding the cursor over the terrain while issuing movement orders. There does not appear to be anything like this in Shock Force. Is there a way to tell what the terrain is before moving a vehicle over it and it bogs (like it did to me)? Thanks
