Fancykiller65
Will there be a demo of CM:British Forces?
Wengart
I think its BFC's policy to release a demo for all of its games. At least that has been true when dealing with the CM series.
MikeyD
You don't need a demo, just play a regular game and imagine everybody's got a thick Liverpool accent and every 3rd word is a profanity.

I still don't understand why the word "bloody" is considered a profanity in Britain...

Actually it's true for ALL of our games (and will continue to be) Demos
MikeyD
Explanation of "bloody": Some say it may be derived from the phrase "by Our Lady", a sacrilegious invocation of the Virgin Mary. The abbreviated form "By'r Lady" ...slang appropriation of words that in some cases appear to bear little relation to their source: "Crikey" for "Christ"; "Gee" for "Jesus"; "Heck" for "Hell"; "Gosh" for "God"; "dash", "dang" or "darn" for "damn" You'll note all of the references above are all religious, not one references... um... let's call it 'bodily functions'. As the old saying goes, believe it... or not

JonS
I still don't understand why the word "bloody" is considered a profanity in Britain... Possibly because although the word itself isn't particularly offensive, it's used as an expletive, and at times of heightened emotion. Heightened emotions are best left to those strange foreigners. And the French.
MikeyD
The selection of profanity available to Americans really sucks (a case in point). All weve got are the 'big four' combined pretty much at random. Where's the creativity? Some languages are much more creative, adding your great-grandma's three-legged donkey to your family tree perhaps.
Lethaface
Hehe, over here we just choose different diseases (the heavy ones, not just smallpox or something) and mix them with existing profanity, sounds quite powerful They are unfortunately too harsh to post here.

Field Marshal Blücher
The Germans are even worse. They only have two indigenous to their language, and have in fact imported the F-word from English.
Kanonier Reichmann
Lemme guess what the two indigenous ones are.... GOTT IN HIMMEL! & SHWEINHUNDT! If you're to believe the old war comics written in English, of course. Regards KR
Lethaface
"Kankerhoer", "Kankerhond" or "Kankerleijer" are very popular words here, altough they are not really respectfull to everyone. They have mean cancer combined with prostitute, dog or sufferer. Not sure if this is anything to be proud of though... And with german profanity, it isnt about what you say, but how you say it
