mike_the_wino
Handler...or sumfink http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2508398 Pretty smart if I do say so. U-Tube was a rip off of another design....a machine within a machine rather than engineer somefink to crawl the tube. http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2501154
GJK
That damn "Stair" level took me forever to get past - finally.... http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2518120

GWDWD
Heh. I spent a whole day on this a couple of months ago. My solution for Mission to Mars: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=924302. I would never have dreamed of some of the stuff y'all have come up with. Big Ball (that's what she said): http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=912388. Actually pretty similar to GJKs.
dieseltaylor
Very military of ypu GJK. The Bobbin bought back into use - very clever. I had not realised that you get ticked boxes when looking at other peoples designs - rather confusingly I have to check which I have done and which I have seen ...... Its really impressive to see the thought that goes to solving them. And some of the later ones look impossible to me.
GJK
Handler...or sumfink http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2508398 Pretty smart if I do say so. I agree, I think this is one of the most ingenious designs presented thus far.
Angus
My solution to Back and Forth: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2540901 And, the epitome of simple, elegant design, my brilliant solution to U-turn. It takes only 10 times to work. http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2540272
mike_the_wino
Haven't saved too many designs but my Mission to Mars solution seems to be a variant of the most common theme....circle the planet and then fling the ball.
SgtMuhammed
What fun! My Mars solution. http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2588208
GJK
Has anybody completed the "Tube" level? I can get a platform built that won't fall through, but can't get any vertical motion - oh wait, just had an idea. *That* is the problem with this thing, you step away and you're mind is still cranking out possible solutions. Anybody order the $10.00 "full" version with 100's of user made levels?
Elmar Bijlsma
Try zooming all the way in before placing the wheels.

GJK
Try zooming all the way in before placing the wheels. For the tube? Yes, I do - I get them as close to the walls as possible but it still slides down. I think that I have an idea that I'll try out later today. Did you get it to work using wheels to drive up the sides?
Elmar Bijlsma
Yup. It can be a stunningly simple device.
GJK
Not pretty, but effective: Four Balls Still stuck on the "Tube". In no way can I not have everything slide through the bottom. I'll figure it out eventually though- Ha! They're coming easier to me now: http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2618867

I'll figure it out eventually though- You'll kick yourself once you figure it out. It's stunningly simple, though you have to do it juuuust right. S P O I L E R S P A C E Hint: Clockwise and counter-clockwise wheel, three sticks: Presto! GJK
Grrrr!!! I swear I tried that very same thing! Guess the key is getting the wheels close enough to the wall. Maybe the precision on my mouse isn't good enough (yes, I'm making up excuses). Good show, I'll see if I can't replicate that.
Elmar Bijlsma
It's pretty finnicky, but should be easy to do if you zoom all the way in. Trick is to do it low or inertia will fuxxor it up before the lower wheel presses the top wheel against the wall when it meets the hump. Earlier I fluked my way through Back and Forth, so I had a proper go at it just now. http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2623396 I must say, I'm rather pleased with it's relative simplicity. Every movement is smooth and helps things along, no movement wasted. Pure luck, but kinda cool.
GJK
Ok, just discovered that you can't review your previous accomplishments though it's checked off as being completed which was a dissapointment. I think that I have a link to my solution somewhere in this thread - I think my solution was to lay a wooden bridge that unrolled over the split as the object piece rolled or was pushed towards the objective. Ok, just noticed that for the $10 USD via Paypal, get that feature plus you can make your own levels. I think that this has quailified for that $10.00; certainly has been enjoyable and brainwave stimulating enough to qualify that cost - anyone else purchase it yet?
SgtMuhammed
I just had to buy the full version. I don't know if you can access it without having the full version but this is a neat one. http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=2747780

JonS
Although ... who else can't wait for them to incorporate that Wiimote head-tracking stuff into games? Man, the future's gonna be *awesome*.
SgtMuhammed
Boy, if you buy the full version some of the user levels are diabolic.
GJK
Yup, bought it the other night but haven't had a chance to explore some of them yet beyond a casual glance. Plus, I felt the need for having to enter a 10-step program if I didn't cut my bond with the game at this point.
