Sound Mod in progress

Recommended Posts

A warning about using Generation Kill audio, do not use anything that mentions "Charlie-Niner-Two". LOL!!

C92 is the callsign of the control tower on Army tank/Bradley gunnery training ranges. (not sure if the USMC uses the same call sign)

Anyone that has fired a weapon from a vehicle has heard the "C92" callsign and will immediately associate it with gunnery training.

I laughed my a** off when I first heard it used at the end of GK as some sort of real life combat radio transmisson. :D

By the way, I'm currently not working on any mods, lack of motivation.

Mord,

The same page LongLeftFlank listed gave me this. It's Marine radio traffic, with troops in contact, from Ramadi, 2006. Quality's pretty high.

One of these might help iPod Arabic translator

Finding Arabic military radio traffic's tough when you don't speak or read Arabic! Have absolutely no doubt I've missed tons of stuff. The various jihadist/insurgent vids are all pretty much useless because of the music overlaid on the actual event audio. Grr!

Thanks John, Where the hell were you a few weeks ago? LOL.

Some of these I have used...the Blackwater Ambush, the mortars coming in on the base, the and Chechens taking down the Helicopter in particular. There are some I haven't seen though. A lot of it I can't use because of the noise but it will definitely give me some ideas.

Appreciate it. And yeah the Insurgent vids drove me nuts with all that friggin music...took a lot of work to find clips that didn't have music or too much noise. Fortunately I used mostly sounds that were from mortars and rockets being fired....I tried, and did not want to use clips where any people were shown being hurt if I could help it.

Nature commentary, but sounds like codewords; has a bit of water noise, so sounds like radio!

  • 2 weeks later...

Supposedly Canadians, but they sound American to me. Troops in contact, under fire, waiting for A-10 strike. You can clearly hear info to troops, instructions to pilot and excited Arab voices, since the soldiers apparently have Iraqi soldiers with them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eD_Lo61rAw&feature=related

British section nearly gets "eaten" by its own A-10 support. Bombs and strafing. Extremely colorful responses!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZBFVge5mcM&feature=related

A-10 rolls in, is cleared hot, fires, breaks off.
