jim crowley
Previously, BFC have always said that they had drawn a line under CMX1 development and would issue no further patches because all resources were being directed at CMX2. Perfectly sound commercial logic. But there would seem to be a reasonably strong possibility of CMC generating newfound interest in CMBB and, therefore, potentially more sales. On that basis, could it be a commercially viable idea to patch CMBB; adding dust from CMAK and addressing any outstanding bug issues that have been mentioned in other threads?
Shmavis
So far, Moon has stated that a CMBB/CMC bundle is planned for release some time after CMC. I guess, if CMC was a spectacular success, they might consider those concerns.
Jack Carr
I would pay for those enhancements to CMBB. But I think Battlefront has already stated that it would be too much work to rip apart the CMBB engine to add the additional eye candy.
Sergei
Don't get yourself any high hopes about it; they MIGHT squash the fortification points bug or the FOW bug while they're at it. But Charles really has to concentrate in the coding of SF.
Wicky
Here's the means and opportunity - just seems to depend on a motive (and Charles spare time) if they exterminate the last couple of bugs. Plus having to do the same for a Mac cmc/cmbb combo... Originally posted by Moon Yup, you get a whole new CMBB.exe with CMC that overwrites the old one. It's not bolt-on, and therefore the symbiosis works without problems. That's why we had Charles do this, and not a third party.
Moon
Sergei is correct. While it's possible that some super-serious bug gets a fix (and super-serious means that it has to affect CMC specifically), it is very unlikely. To quote Charles: "0.0001% chance in hell" Martin

I'm sure the Shck Force brigade wouldn't mind waiting a few weeks longer while BFC polish up CMBB

Redwolf
Doesn't sound good No way I'm going to wait 180 seconds for a bunch of T-34 to move down a road at the beginning of the scenario ever again.
