Capt Fear Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I have watched this website for a year and was wondering why there has not been any updates or what the status of this game is? Is it still under development or did it die?? Just Wondering as I was looking forward to it...
Sixxkiller Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Still under development as far as I know. I think Dan has been busy with DIF still. I too am looking forward to it.
KiloAlpha4 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 how is this game vs this game (buka.com/cgi-bin/show.pl?id=16) I'm trying to compare the 2 to see the differrences. [ADMIN: URL edited] [ December 30, 2005, 02:39 AM: Message edited by: Moon ]
Moon Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Yeah, MNB is in early development and not a high priority at the moment as we're focussing on refining and polishing Down in Flames first. So MNB will take quite a bit still until we get into even beta stage. Kilo: MNB is, just like DIF, based on a card-based rules systems by DVG. The rules are different than for DIF obviously due to the subject matter (the player does not only control one single ship, but a small "fleet" for example), but it still is a "card" game in essence. The game you linked to seems to be more of a strategy game? Looks nice by the way. (btw, due to our policy of not allowing commercial links on the forum I had to change the URL you posted to make it non-clickable). Martin

I can only assume that DIF has taken a LOT longer than you expected.
Sixxkiller Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Dave, Hi I think DIF is taking longer than they thought it would too. Dan V is working with a different programming team on MNB so that could also be cause for some of the delay. Believe me when I say that lots of people are anxious to get this done too. I will remind you though that the Battlefront mantra is not to release a game before its ready. That way you actually get what you are paying for and well then they get to have such a neat mantra! -Ray
Bismarck fan Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Hi there, I recently bought the card game, love playing it! however, it's quite hard to find someone to pley it with one of my friends loved it too, but after i managed to beat him 6 times in a row he now refusses to pley with my. (such a baby ) SO... if there's a PC verion i could like... play an unlimeted number of games versus the AI! Nice Now to get to the point... How do i sign up for the beta testing?
Sixxkiller Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Hello, When it comes out I think you will find lots of humans that even after defeat will play you over and over. You can even play the Down In Flames demo to see how good MNB is gonna be with players and AI. -Ray

Richie Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 I'm still looking forward to this... I'm sure it will be great when it happens!
Dan Verssen Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 We should have some news soon. We're all very excited about the game. I'm going through the design docs right now to get it as polished as possible.

I love that stardock model.....pay full price and get the beta (when available) and help test that baby!
Elmar Bijlsma Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 And how are things with the project that is somewhere between CMC and Duke Nukem Forever? I stopped pestering the CMC guys because it doesn't seem to be going anywhere and my interest in it has waned anyway. No such luck for you Dan.
Dan Verssen Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 I've been in recent contact with the nice folks at BFC and hopefully we'll have some news soon.
Elmar Bijlsma Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 The dreaded "soon" as uttered by a developer. Never was a word more flexible. Thanks Dan!
Dan Verssen Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 "Soon" does leave one room to maneuver. But it's not quite as flexible as when one of the kids says they are "almost" done with their chores/homework/etc...
Elmar Bijlsma Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Hah! At this point, I reckon the kids have dropped out of school and moved out to avoid doing chores. And frankly, they look suspiciously like the milkman. Four years is a bit long to stay hyped about a game.
