lugosi
I have an older system (733 MHZ 512 Meg RAM)....Will I be able to run this game?
pzgndr
Hardware/Software Requirements CPU: 800 MHz Processor RAM: 128 MB OS: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP DirectX: 7 Video Card: 32 MB with 32-Bit Color, 1024x768, or 1280x1024, or 1600x1200 Sound Card: 16-Bit DirectSound compatible CD-ROM: 8x or better HD: 100MB free Hard Disk space These are the minimum recommended requirements. 733 MHz may be OK but you may experience some sluggishness. Try the demo when it becomes available and see how it goes on your system. If the demo works, then the game will work.
Desert Dave
And, Don't forget this! So to drown out The clamor of marching hammers, oh The drone of neo-Goth clones! Perhaps you'll even hear? Distant... dimmest... echo The Harmony of the Spheres!
Blashy
You'll be able to run it, one of the playtesters runs it on a 800mhz and I don't see any difference from my 2.6ghz 128mb card. I know I've played on his sytem via hotseat.
TaoJah
This type of game typically doesn't go a lot faster on faster computers. The most important part will be the memory, I bet, and you got plenty of that, so...
bloodstar
Sigh... I suspect my Pentium 450 and Pentium 500 just won't quite cut it. though both have 256 megs of RAM and a 32 meg video cards. Maybe I'll be the guinea pig and let everyone know if it works.
Lars
Mine's slower than that. I suspect it'll run, just take longer for the AI turn. btw, you should go buy some more ram. Tis cheap these days.

Desert Dave
Yeah, maybe, But... just like Vegas (... the people bowed & prayed to the neon god they made ) or Reservation Casinos, You gotta have sufficient "slots."
Lars
Yep. But on a system that old, you just yank the smaller sticks if they're taking up slots. I mean, we're talking cheap.
Blashy
I mean "dirt" cheap... almost. FYI, going from 256 to 512 of ram you will experience a 25% increase in performance, from 512 to 1 gig about a 10% increase higher and it becomes negligible. Go to one gig, buy a 1 gig stick see a 30-35% increase in performance. You will notice the difference.
bloodstar
*grins* I'd buy more ram, but my systems are already maxxed out on RAM. It's not the end of the world. I just accept that things will be... sluggish. -Mark

Sombra
Will it be possible to run SC2 in a window? It would be nice to be able to run a video or surf the net while your opponent makes his moves and still keep an eye on the game.
