Determining terrain in planning phases

Is there any way for me to click on/mouse over an area during my planning phase (either the setup at the beginning of the game or the planning phase at the beginning of every turn) and determine what the terrain is? This question was prompted when I was setting up a defending force in a quick battle and I was trying to place mine fields. It is hard to determine what is Open Ground and what is concrete (I DID notice that the line turns green if I am moused over a valid placement area.....it took a while for me to notice that, but I did) Thank you for your help -

I have an older system (733 MHZ 512 Meg RAM)....Will I be able to run this game?
