Harry Yeide
Fellow armchair warriors: I have added short histories of the US separate tank battalions to my web site, World War II History by Harry Yeide. Cheers.

Cheers. I liked the content on your site but the blue clashes a bit and makes it hard to read. For me at least. I need to add your books to my collection. Good job.
Pzman
It is nice little site, but I agree... the green background with the blue links is not great.
Harry Yeide
I changed the colors on the links page. Let me know what you think. When I try to change the font on the Homepage, it screws everything up. I am an HTML ignoramus using only Word to create my pages, and it took me so long to get the page to work at all with the web ring thingy that I believe it will just have to stay blue-on-green!
Andreas
Hi Harry I find it impossible to read with the blue on green, and I normally have quite good eyesight. All the best Andreas
Hans
Impossible to read, short term solution is the reader has to select with a mouse what he whats to see.
_UXcva
Harry, I'm a novice at HTML and a Mac guy also but may I suggest an easy fix for your blue on green background problem. Open up your Word doc and scroll about half way down to this area: body bgcolor="#506f19" lang=EN-US link=blue vlink=blue style='tab-interval: .5in' Change #506f19" to "#D3CAAC" Your homepage will now have the same background color as most of your other pages. I couldn't figure out how to keep the green background and make the links black. I would also suggest changing the "title" (via the HTML coding) of your homepage, currently called "Homepage", to Harry Yeide's Homepage or something to that effect. Makes it easier to bookmark etc. [ June 10, 2005, 10:31 AM: Message edited by: _UXcva ]
Harry Yeide
I wound up redoing the page from scratch, so let's see how that works for people. Thanks for the advice, folks.

hellfish
I read "Steel Victory" when I visited my parents last week and was suprised to read that you played Combat Mission too. It was an excellent book! Any plans for books about tank units in the Med or Pacific?
Harry Yeide
Thanks for the compliment, Mr. Hellfish. I have a book coming out (sometime) called "Weapons of the Tankers" that covers the tank battalions a bit in North Africa, Italy, and the Pacific, including the amphibian tank and amphibious tractor battalions. I've heard that another author has a history of the Pacific tank battalions in the mill. Cheers.
hellfish
Any scenarios you can recommend for CMAK (preferrably) that are based on/similar to the ones in your book?
Harry Yeide
Shoot, pretty much any small-scale scenario with a few tanks and some infantry should replicate the experience as nearly as one can in game-land. As long as the tanks need the doughs and vice-versa, you're there.
hellfish
No personal recommendations? Nuts.
Splinty
Hi Harry, just finished reading "The Tank Killers" for the second time. I really like the descriptions of how the TD's were actually used in combat.Looking forward to reading more of your material. Fancy a PBEM? My addy's in my profile. Harry Yeide
No time for gaming at the moment, I'm afraid. I'm working with a co-author to wrap up a book on the 6th Army Group to be called, if we have our way, "First to the Rhine." Thanks for the offer, though, and glad you liked "The Tank Killers." Cheers.
