Der Kuenstler
I have a Jaakari 42 squad targeting an enemy squad about 40 meters away in some woods. My info screen says they should have 256 in firepower at this range but my LOS tool says they have 296 firepower - why the difference?

rleete
How does that make a difference? The bullets are more experienced, so they know which way to go? I'm not trying to be funny, I really would like to know.
Krautman
Man, those Jääkari are tough. No wonder Finland is named after their smg! Firepower is different each m distance, yet the info screen shows firepower only at certain key distances. If the enemy squad is closer than 40m, your FP rating might be bigger, though i'm not sure about that.
stikkypixie
The values given in the info screen are averages. A veteran squad will have higher firepower a green squad will have lower.
rleete
Why is that? Is a more experienced soldier assumed to be a better shot, putting more rounds on target, vs. just spraying lead?
JasonC
"I'm not trying to be funny, I really would like to know." High quality troops shoot straighter. More like all the men are pulling triggers. They are more likely to wait for a visible target. They shoot controlled burst when they have a target. Greens aim too high. Some because they are trying to avoid exposing themselves. They shoot at suspicious bushes, movement, sounds. They move their weapons from side to side too much when firing a burst, "spray and pray" fashion. Lots of reasons of that nature.

Der Kuenstler
Yes, thank you - I thought it might be including grenades or something.
Kingfish
HQs with combat bonuses also contribute to a squad's FP.
Redwolf
The experience of the squad is taken into account in the displayed number. The bonus via a controlling HQ's combat bonus is not displayed in the on-screen number.
